Kohlingen Rangers

"The Western Barricade, as it's known to locals, lies on the west of Kohlingen's Greengarden District. The river running North to the sea marking it's border, a watch tower overlooking the bridge and road West. It is not manned by paladins, nor even knights. But, by the Men-At-Arms of Kohlingen. In particular a favoured meeting place and posting for the Kohlingen Rangers:-
These are not champions of good, but noble folk trying to defend their way of life against the many threats and trials that Amia presents, you need not be a saint. You need not be subject to divine providence. You must simply act in accordance to your oaths and blood. Behind these thin fences lies the bread basket of your people. Fertile fields, orchards and woods. To the West, Brigands threaten wary travellers; their stronghold has existed for too long. To the South-East, the Beastmen lurk; their ever present threat has been beaten and crushed. Never broken.
So you stand vigilant. Your eyes alert, and your weapon ready. You may be no mighty hero -- but you do not stand alone, ranger.
There is work to be done. Your company is skilled. Traps, grenades, explosives. Sneaks, and huntsmen. Stout axemen and warriors. Your task is to range the borders of our lands. To keep vigil in the tangle of trees, and the lonely cliffs -- you do not stand alone.
Have you what it takes, to aid these goodfolk? Are you from Bendir Dale, Barak Runedar, Wharftown or an adventurer seeking new purpose? Come, share our fires. We have need of the brave, in these uncertain times."
I will be keeping a journal overon the Kohlingen Boards, of the exploits of adventurers and other folk who seek to roleplay with the common caste of Kohlingen society. Naturally, we will interact with Lords, Knights and Clerics; as only natural for those fighting to preserve the boarders of the Holy City. But I record this from the perspective of hard working rangers, allies and adventurers. Reaping the rewards, and facing the trials in keeping the lands of the Isle safe. Rangers in history, preserved boarders. Maintained the safety of roads, and kept tabs on out lying settlements. They worked in the wild frontiers away from the standing army, in small organised groups; with a measure of independence and self governance. All were soldiers, however, and subject to their oaths and edicts. Primarily, you'll be dealing with an organisation of Good and Neutral characters serving a Lawful Good city state. The benefits, problems and consequences of this not withstanding, we're not Knights, or Paladins. Merely men and women of conscience. We will be working with them. They are our brothers in arms, but we serve different purpose -- For the same greater good. Secondly, Kohlingen is a beautifully made collection of areas with farmlands and other areas little used historically. Ever wanted to play from the perspective of a commoner, yeoman, bard or crafter in a realm of Knights, and Wizards? Now's the time. Should this intrigue you, please get involved! ((I will be present most evenings around 6:30pm - 10:30pm (GMT+0), on Weekends longer. Currently, I'm 10th level. So naturally will also be in those levelling areas also. ))
