In the shadows and under invisibility a sorceress plotted with anguish in the dead of night, her hand was resting firm on her amethyst dull switchblade; the skull switch in the center glowing purple as the focii empowered her incantations to come. She incanted a spell with her monotone, hatred brewing through her crimson eyes causing the carmine glow to brighten even more temporarily. A large pentagram formed of negative energy under her magic, but as quickly as it appeared, it had faded like a stream of energy back into her focii as soon as it the arcane energy was spent. A giant Nightwalker entered from a towering black void, after being summoned from a rift that seemed to originate from the shadowplane. The outsider undead had hands like claws, and its height was akin to a giant. It felt like minor seismic activity in the area it stomped to its command.

The skull glowed purple on her focii again as she incanted several necromantic spells, targeting both blight at the tallest trees, and horrid wilting at the plants around, focussing them as a prioritized target, making quick work under haste. Knowing she was not long before someone might notice something. The nightwalker was given the order, and its arms spread like an eagle as it ran, crushing the trees in its path that were dehydrated or decaying from the simultaneous magic sending more than a few down either by large fracture, or some with the root pulled from the soil, and if nobody was aware of her presence before, the sound of crashing trees might leave keen ears wondering and off to the chase. But the nightwalker gave each resilient tree a weighted punch, and by its master's dismissal, it gladly returned back to its icy prism of the void and the colorless clutches. The necromancer pressed the glowing skull and the switchblade snapped shut, and she sprinted off to a corner, only to cast a common sanctuary and flee away, making sure she got out before anyone could have seen her.

The destruction was minor by comparison of even that section of the forest, but perhaps it was not meant to be severe, or perhaps it was. In either case, a pile of dead wolves and badgers that appear to have been ripped apart lie in the aftermath of several fallen trees and desecrated shrubbery. What in Toril's name did someone do to make such an odd occurrence take place?

Upon entering the forest, from Bendir Dale, Crow comes across the scene and investigates. Discovering the damage, he searches for tracks in the area, leading to or away from the scene*

// Yes, might want to post a clarification on the area for the Amian Forest dwellers!

Dozens of critters who made their home in the said area of foilage scattered and dispersed at the haunting sight of the Nightwalker. In the wake of her destruction, the surrounding area seems absolutely devoid of the life it once had. When the woman had left, these forest dwellers teetered at the edge of their destroyed homes but did not dare return for the remainder of the night.

The Druidess of Jannath observes the devastation brought to the area. The rotten and broken trees and the wilted dehydrated plant life. She considered for a time on what she would do before moving to the center of the destruction.

She planted her staff in the ground and murmured a prayer to her goddess. She began to cast, and the ground began to tremble. It started as a Move Earth spell, digging up the dry crusted soil left by the wilting and mixing soil from healthy areas outside the impact. The ground became tilled as the top layer of soil moved around to her command.

Then the ground shook more violently. An Earthquake spell opened up fissures in the ground which swallowed the decaying trees, crushing them as the fissures closed, leaving only broken remains of the rotted trees that would soon be part of nature again.

Then the ground calmed for a time. The druidess calmly cast an enriching Plant Growth spell on the area, letting the land make full use of it's natural resources in preparation. She cast the spell again, but this time causing overgrowth. Grasses, briars, bushes, thistles, vines, and even new trees, began to sprout up from the soil. The druidess became covered and entwined in the center of the growth as life reclaimed the area. New dense vegetation grew thick, leaving little evidence of the destruction that had previously hit the land.

After she was done, a Felldrake who was witness to it commented, "
You have done some rather impressive work here."

She simply replied, "
Nature has druids to counter those who do impressive harm."

She left to get some rest after expending herself in regrowing the land.

"
Balance, always."

The tracks that led to this specific spot were muted, but still visible to a ranger like Crow. It was a small bootprint leading to and from Bendir Dale, and occasionally, a giant footprint, where obviously the Nightwalker had to have been.

// I don't know how much Crow knows about Audrey's boots, so I'll leave that much up to you :)
