The note would seem to be scribbled rather quickly on rather dirty paper, which seems to have been smudged by the everpresent ash. The handwriting would look rather out of practise, with a rather crude handwriting one might not expect considering the language skills used in the text.

My dear fellow citizens of this island,

As many have noticed, the volcano in the Skull Crags is erupting. The ash is raining everywhere and the day is turned to a permanent state of twilight. While many have attemted to think of actions that might reduce the damage dealt to places like Guldorand or the Shrine of Eilistrae, there has been a small minority which has tried to figure out how this has happened. Some have, for example, noticed a shrine to the dragon queen, Tiamat, has been left at the top of the mountain. This has lead many to believe that this disaster is not natural, but rather imposed by the evil ruler of dragons.

Is it then a coincidence, that the same day the volcano has started to spew fire, three shady figures went up to the peak, disappearing into the caves near there?

The first of the group, and most likely the leader, is a woman, with green claw-tipped wings and claw-like feet. This woman could certainly cast some spells, however their power or nature is unknown. The next in the group was small, smaller even than a hin, who also had a long, ratlike tail and a voice that sounded somewhat like a yapping dog. The last was a woman of unknown appearance. They spoke in a language which was unknown to me, however I must admit I do not know many languages.

However, do you really expect a coicidence, when shortly before the eruption, a Tiamatian shrine would be set up there, and a short while after that, on the day of the eruption, a woman who looks like she is more than just part green-colored dragon and, most likely, a kobold, both groups who commonly revere the Dagon Queen, show up to the mountain, making sure they weren't followed? Is that really a feasible coincidence? Or did maybe Tiamat really have a claw in all of this?

The letter would be signed "Mezwar".

The volcano's activity is naturally occurring, and will settle on its own. The idol was likely uncovered from the earth shifting, and it may be from the Dark Flight of long ago. Since the idol's discovery is now known, the people you see are likely making pilgrimages. I suggest just leaving everything, and everyone, alone up there.

// a new message at kampos. While the handwriting is crude the language is fine.

I spoke to the green woman you made reference to. While her goal may be unknown, rest assured neither she nor I can think of a single reason that any devout of the Dragon Queen would build or unearth such a shrine; then erupt a volcano that would simply engulf and bury that shrine in obsidian, sealing it forever. If you can find any reasonable explanation as to why a likely devout of the dragon queen would construct or discover such an idol and then trigger an event that would clearly, clearly result in its destruction, I am eager to hear it.

All should agree with the Grove, they are the experts, and if they say this eruption is natural then it is. The green-girl was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, and had the unfortunate luck to be born what she is, worshiping the deity that bore her race into the world.

If you want to help, dig trenches to divert lava flows. Have an emergency plan. Keep food and water on hand in case you are cut off. Have meeting points set up for you and your friends and family to gather should the inevitable happen and you are separated at the time. Encourage others to do the same.

Don't go chasing the green girl when you should be doing something productive.

So take that under advisement.

// In contrast to the handwriting, there is an impeccably detailed drawing of the holy symbol of Tempus below the comments.
