[Both adverts are now accompanied by several copies of a handy guide for ring designs, allowing customers to more accurately send in letters for orders.]

Duskbrin Ring GuideBand Shapes
D-Shaped -> Flat inside, rounded outside
Traditional Court -> Well rounded on both sides and edges
Flat-Court -> Rounded inside, flat outside
Double Comfort -> Flat on both sides, rounded edges
Halo -> Perfectly round band
Flat-Sided Court -> Round on both sides, flat edges
Split Shank -> Band on either side of the ring divides into two before joining with the center gemstone.
Knife Edge -> A knife edge features two gently slanted sides that meet at a point at the top of the band.
Flat Shank -> Bottom portion of the band is flat instead of the more traditional rounded shape. Often used to prevent the ring from spinning on the finger.
Bypass -> Two sides of the band overlap or traverse rather than forming a straight line.

Band Detailing
Milgrain -> Features a raised, beaded line on the surface of the band near the edges.
Beveled edge -> Feature an angled edge with a contrasting or complementary finish.
Weave / braid -> Raised sections that resemble strands of metal woven together.
Filigree -> Uses fine wire to create an antique look with elaborate patterns such as rosettes, spirals or vines.
Hand engraving -> Hand carved designs in the metal. Each engraving is unique as no two are exactly the same.

Band Finishes
Polished -> A high shine finish
Matte or brushed -> Smooth look that creates a textured finish
Satin -> A brushed finish with a finer texture than matte
Stone -> A coarse brushed finish with a more rugged look than matte or satin
Hammered -> A hand-wrought appearance made by using the round end of a ball peen hammer to texture the band surface

Settings for Central Stones
Prong / Claw -> Classic setting where the stone is visible from all sides for maximum brilliance.
Compass Points -> Gemstone is held secure by squared prongs at 45 degrees typical to the prong setting. Two prongs are coming out of the band, two from the sides of the gemstone at a 90 degree angle to the band.
Cathedral -> the stone is held high by raised shoulders which help to protect it.
Bezel -> The stone is framed in metal, keeping it secure.
Semi-Bezel -> Two borders of framed metal but with open sides.
Trellis -> Interwoven prong design.
Tension -> Pressure holds the stone firmly in place between a cut band allowing it to reflect maximum light.
Trio -> Three side by side gemstones in a prong or bar setting.

Settings for Smaller Stones
Bar -> Thin metal bar separates each stone but leaves the sides open to bring in the light.
Channel -> Stones are placed in a metal channel and are visible but not prominent, forming a continuous flow with no metal to separate them.
Flush -> Secures small stones inside tiny holes.
Paved -> Hexagon patterned layout of small stones with tiny metal beads hold each stone in its own discrete setting that runs the length of the band. Expensive, but brilliant like no other. Gives the appearance that the entire band is made of diamonds or other gemstones.
Halo -> Center gemstone is surround by a "halo" of smaller stones. These often run the entire length of the band as well in two lines or three like Paved.

Mix and match band styles and settings to make marvelous designs, such as...
The Swirl - A form of curving Bypass band with Channel set gems along each curve and along the band surrounding a Prong set center gem.
Colored Accent - Three lines of gems run the length of the band, round diamonds on the two outer lines, and square cut sapphires or rubies on the inside, all of which accents the center gem giving the ring a look suitable for royalty.
Vintage - Delicate filigree and hand engraving and careful shaping of the entire band leading up to and including engraving on the prongs for the center gem, giving a very noble appearance.

Gemstone cuts
Round -> Classic round cut for diamonds.
Princess -> Square cut, sharp edges.
Marquise -> Oval cut with two pointed edges.
Pear -> Teardrop shaped oval cut with one pointed edge.
Asscher -> Octagon cut, four large edges, four small.
Cushion -> Square cut, rounded edges.
Oval -> Oval shape, similar cut to round.
Radiant -> Rectangular octagon, two long edges, two short, four very short corners.
Trillion -> Triangular cut, three sharp edges.
Baguette -> A very simple rectangular cut, very flat.
Emerald -> Similar to baguette, but raised further and with small edges in each corner.
Heart -> Similar to round and oval cuts, but done in the shape of a heart.

Whatever you wish, you need only use your imagination.
