The Dale had been revelling in the throws of a general carnival atmosphere that day. Bella was cooking roast hog and her famous gumbo was simmering in the pot as night gave way to the day.
All of a sudden a swarm of bats erupted around the Dale and attacking everyone indiscriminately. Sasha flew into the air tearing the bats apart as Bella set to with her bow felling many as the Dale folk and passers-by rallied to the halflings aid.
In the aftermath of the first few waves Bella gathered Sasha up into her wake and set off over the grounds of the Dale to trace the source of the bats Westwards into the Mylock hills. There she found swarms of rats that charged the two of them. The infamous mad mage Tyd appeared behind them and seemed amused to continue watching on as the pairing hacked their way through the teeming masses.
An ear piercing howl from above revealed the presence of a huge black dog, its flanks looking as if they had been flayed. Sasha growling low in her throat, the panther having an instant dislike for the beast as it charged after it through the valleys were the mylocks were suspiciously absent. Finding the hound atop the hill the panther and 'dog; set to in a furious exchange of claws and teeth. Bella offering what little aid she could where possible.
Eventually the dog falls to the two of them as Tyd watches on whilst being swarmed by rats, his staff getting broken in the process of the fights. Gathering her wits about her then Bella heads off back to the Dale to fetch aid...
Prescia, as always, had Bella's back, there were others who followed. many others. Even ones who had not even been there when the fight had started. Flocking to the seen of trouble on some unknown need.
But Bella gave them little thought and Sasha's and her own nose were to the floor and trying to follow the path of where the vermin had come from. Finding their way to the upper echelons of the hills she half spies a black cowled figure who fairly reeked in her own senses. But for the moment did nothing, only followed him.
He focused on the middle distance and it appeared that he began to summon the bats and rats into existence. The others by this time had honed in on their location, it was a kobold who let fly the first bolt that stuck deep into the figure who screeched. In that screech it seemed to draw ever more black clad figures, all wielding fell staves that set upon the rag tag bunch of heroes. Many of them fell to the ground. but each time they were beaten back.
Never far from each fallen figure where Bella and Sasha, the two working in perfect concert to trip and hack at each figure in turn, they moved like a true bane of their existence as all the people of the island seemed to lend their weight to the struggle.
Eventually the flow of them seemed to ebb away. But Bella was far from satisfied as she set off towards the Wyrmhold, clinging to the shadows along with Sasha and trying to find the source of where this incursion has started.

*Those who occasionally check the notice board within the Hinn Inn would notice a letter tacked upon it* Quote: To those concerned about Swift or myself, If anyone still holds concern about the disappearance of Captain Swift or my own departure, I write this letter to inform all that both we are both safe and in good health. The journey to find her was long, and the adventure that resulted from it was enough to put even Johanna into retirement. Given several circumstances, we have both decided to remain on the mainland for now, and chances are we will not return. We both send our best wishes for the Dale and its future, hoping for peace to come to the land.
Yondalla Bless, Brena 'Planewalker' Swift, The Gray Archmage.
*Something seems to have been added at the bottom*
Good luck to the Dale's choice for mayor. *Those who speak to Fendel about who left this message would be told that a female hin dressed in gray with her face hidden under a hood was the one who left it. She entered the inn, looked over the notice board, and ordered a mug of hot chocolate before leaving the letter and departing.*

An addendum is made.
The window of voting has been extended. It will close one day after the minutes of the debate have been published.
Thank you, Cindle

The minutes of the mayoral debate are posted, one day after the debate it self.
People of Bendir Dale,
Here are the minutes of the Bendir Dale Mayoral Debate. All three candidates took part in the debate: Nof Barshedge, Nick Shadow and Johanna Hardingdale. I hope that this text will help you all make a better and more informed choice.
Willow Maynare Debate Referee
----------------------------------
What will you do to improve relations with our neighbors in Winya, Kohlingen and other local settlements?
Mayor Nof Barshedge: The people of Kohlingen and most other nearby groups has always been open to the Dale's overtures. We have many residents who already are involved with other groups in someway, as well as Bendir Dale. I would do as I do: try to get these people into the position of an emissary. And for those who aren't associated with us, find someone willing and able to act as a diplomat, building on the friendships that are already established on a personal level to ones on a governmental level.
Nick Shadow: Ironically I had already took it upon myself to go to our neighboring towns during the hiatus of our last militia officers – such as Kohlingen and Winya – and speak to them regarding pacts to assist one another in the case of an attack that would require such assistance. I was able to get soft verbal commitment from them as well, so i would continue to speak with them on a regular basis and keep a clear line of communication to assure they will be there for us should the time arise.
Johanna Hardingdale: And Banites.
Shadow: If i may address that?
Willow Maynare: Alright. But do so quickly, if you please.
Shadow: I am not sure where these rumors keep coming from, since they are not true and I would prefer we all be civilized and adults about such accusations! If you have proof, I compel you to present it, since I assure you there is none.
At this point, some audience members began to demand answers.
Belladonna (Hin Ranger): Okay. did you negotiate with Banite scum. All I want to know?
Shadow: No. Negotiate what?
Lyle Torrowfire (former militia captain) raises his hand.
Shadow: Yes?
Torrowfire: When the Banites had been banned from Bendir Dale, and when my Fist at the time was planning it's open engagements with them, you did invite Darthion and several of his Banites into the Town Hall for a peaceful sit down. Cindle and Nof were there for sure, as was Tak outside, and Dirk.
Belladonna: Thats all I needed to know then.
Maynare: Let's save this for another time. Now's not the time to have this turn into a back and forth between the candidates and the public.
Shadow: Aye... things were moving towards a dangerous situation. But I asked if you'd be willing to speak with them before bringing them in. And that doesn't make me a Banite?
Things were then under control once more.
Hardingdale: Right. Relations. Well, lucky for us, we Hin have the knack for fitting in everywhere, not just being holed in one place. We're blessed, I'd say, with folk associated here with the Triadic Knights, The Grove and those like Lipta, of part elf blood. I'd post more Ambassadors, like what Juliette DeLorai had been doing. Those with a strong understanding of what it's like to be in the middle. There are many here with a unique point of view and this can be useful for any relationship we, as a town, can benefit from.
How will you, as the Dale leader, protect the people of Bendir Dale as a whole?
Shadow: Well, contrary to some people's opinions, I care greatly about Bendir. Enough to sacrifice my own life, should it be required. However, as the mayor, I would appoint a qualified and capable Hin as my captain of security and Dale defenses. For as a leader, one must know their strengths and weaknesses. So I would hire – through an extensive process – one to lead our defense as the town folk would seem fit.
Hardingdale: Protection from what, would be the question I'd put forward. We've recently had the windmill set aflame from a strike of lightning. What saved it was the fact it was a busy time, what with a recent bit of festivity in town. Humans, Elves and the like all pitched in to do their bit to help, and was done expediently. Then our own delved deeper into the investigation. Similarly with the more recent bat infestation. Again, with festivities going on, there was a lot of aid. And thanks to those like Bella and Pres pushing into further investigation to sort out the root. If you're speaking of war, however, I mentioned in my proposal I'd work along side the militia, but there's only so much I can involve myself in. My focus is on keeping the everyday goings on happy and healthy. Educated in our history and birthrights to explore and integrate. Like I mentioned before about us blending and fitting in with others, even with the Gnomes and Dwarves that live here, we have the potential to avoid wars altogether at or doorstep, leaving home and hearth safe to rest before setting off on our lifetime adventures.
Barshedge: As you know, I prefer an indirect method of running the town, instead delegating the details to someone with the time or experience necessary to get the job done. But time and recent events have taught me a more observant role is required. I recently dissolved the militia, as you all know, to try and clean up the mess made by its previous captain. I will not lie. My colleagues up here have brilliant ideas on how to handle the Dale's defenses, and mine doesn't differ much from theirs, save taking a more active role myself, and doggedly coming down on any slip up from the future militia lead. I'd like to continue our negotiations with Barak Runedar to overhaul the walls and work on deflecting shadowjumpers again. I'd also like to instigate a more active recruitment strategy, with official recruiters and more strenuous training and recruitment requirements to better the ethics and fortitude of our defenders, and increase our manpower substantially. That's what I'd want to do, and enough active leadership would do that.
In regard to the School House, do you plan to keep it almost exclusively for children, or will you work to open up more classes for adults as well?
Hardingdale: Well, when the school was was in discussion right here before it was put in place, it was decided that it would indeed be put into use for all ages, not just for children. When it opened there were programs for adults from the get go. Like Madock's genealogy and Bendir History. Then there was the Gnomish fellow that held all those Amia History lessons. Why it was thought that it was only for child use is beyond me. Perhaps it is because it ain't been used for it lately or something. Something to consider, most definitely.
Barshedge: I think the school house has a lot of potential, not just as a place of learning, but also as a cultural center where everyone can learn things about Hin, Dwarves, Fey, Gnomes, history, what ever else any one would want to learn about. If elected, I'd like to appoint an events organizer who'd be charged with getting public speakers and teachers to offer regular seminars in the school house. Or, at the very least, encourage citizens to undertake those things on their own, so they have a more direct say.
Shadow: Well, admittedly, I never thought it was exclusively for the children and I'd have to defer to what Ms. Hardingdale and Mayor Barshedge already said. The only other thing I'd probably do would be to rename it to “The Bendir Dale Learning Center” rather than “The School House.” And much like the Mayor said, arrange more learning workshops on a regular basis with guest speakers and/or people with specialized knowledge about the lesson/discussion of the day. Of course, we'd probably also have regular open town forum discussion to determine the topics as well.
What's your opinion of the Bendir Dale militia and what thoughts and plans do you have for it? What will you expect the militia to do, as members of the Bendir Dale community and for the community itself?
Barshedge: I covered this a bit earlier with the previous question. I'm honestly appalled at how far the militia had sunk, and with myself for not intervening sooner. The only solution, I believe, was to remake the adventurer's wing up completely from the ground up. I plan to improve the militia with higher training and recruitment standards, as well as keep a firmer hold on it. The militia, ideally, should be concerned with the defense of the people first and the protection of the town second. I'd like to station more units on the exterior edges of the town, hopefully to thwart threats before they even come near the main mass of people at all.
Shadow: Well, on this topic i have to say, may thoughts regarding the Militia are jaded, as through many of my own experiences, the interactions have been inconsistent at best in the past. That said, too often some of those actually in the militia didn't – in my opinion – fit the bill of being qualified to be in the militia and have had far to many conflicts of interest regarding its members. We've had husband and wives, fathers and daughters, ex-lovers and even an evil Drow. And that one still gets me twisted. So, going forward, I'd like to think of the militia as a friendly, but capable group of protector to the Dale. I'd like for our militia guards to be more welcoming instead of hostile, but still be stern when needed. Most of the isle tends to underestimate us already and we have always beaten back any challenges in true Bendir fashion. Overall, I think the citizens of the Dale all have a right in protecting the Dale from all foreign evils and would encourage those capable to be sure and watch over those not as capable in times of need, helping to supplement the militia in times of greater need. So I guess I'm saying, as a citizen of the Dale, we are all responsible for keeping it safe and policing its rules and laws.
Hardingdale: I think my opinion of the militia has been very vocal for a very long time, though it was not so much the militia as those that joined it from the Fist merge and somehow manages to instantly be above the regulars. It was two years too late but the problem has been dealt with by Nof's latest move. Finally. There needs to be a restructuring, definitely. There is a place for those of adventurous persuasion in the militia, and it's great that any would be willing to defend the town at the times of need. It should never be their place to silence us. The members, that's to say the regulars as well as others, are expected to work for us, not lay down an oppressive claw that has been seen for years. Though took way too long to deal with by those in charge, ultimately granting more authority to those that poisoned and broken our spirits. Whatever militia structure we end up with it must be watched by us all and folk should be able to comment without fear anything that's been done wrong on us or outsiders. We ain't a war faction. We ain't a bunch of marauders. We're a bunch of folk that want to enjoy our life without the fear of an overbearing militant force encroaching on our space while we try to eat. We want folk to help us, not smite us for being ourselves.
What will you do to provide an avenue for the arts and creativity – such as music, acting, painting and the like – here in Bendir Dale, especially for the children?
Shadow: Well, I think so many of us have so much knowledge and more important, history to share with the kids and as such. Again the classroom will be a tool in helping to achieve this goal as well as hosting some talent shows and other gatherings to showcase the many talented folks that live and reside in the Dale. Hopefully, regardless of whether I am chosen as mayor, we can focus more on the arts and showcases or creativity that us short folk posses inside naturally.
At this point, an audience member spoke up again. Though the interruption was brief.
Barnaby (Gnome artist) : I'm perfectly averagely sized, thank you!
Shadow: Yes, of course we are. I myself would love to learn to paint as well and encourage all to harness their inner artist and create something beautiful from the heart.
Hardingdale: Crafts are part of our make up. Our ancestors and current traveling kin use crafts to win over the hearts of all sorts of people all across the realms. As many are poor, it's a form of currency, helping people when they can for food, patching things up, crating beauty out of what meager crap they can find. And there's always the singing and dancing. These are things I want to encourage as I want to push the idea that there is a world beyond the walls but there's a place to return to to exchange trades and skills, to sing at festivals, to dance with joy and delight at the revelry I have planned for the future. Of course not all of us are Hin, let alone Lightfoot, and each race here has much to offer: the beautiful singing voices of Gnomes, the gem-cutting skills of the Dwarves. I wish to see crafts as a major part of this town's purpose. Even more so than trade, because without it, we lose purpose no matter where we are: in town, a city, on the roads, anywhere.
Barshedge: I'm pretty certain I blew all of my own creativity years ago. No surprise though. I don't feel that I should have a hand in something I'm not expert in. However, as has been pointed out, there are many people who are very creative and brilliant. I would like to encourage people to perform more, perhaps advertise the stage here, publicly encouraging people to express themselves. I'd also like to invite people of other races to share their own brands so the people of the Dale gain a greater sense and appreciation for the world around them. Yet, still solidifying appreciation for the talents of our own.
What are your opinions of faithful companions who have proven their worth to the Dale and its folk time and time again, such as panthers?
Hardingdale: Ones proven their worth? It's tough. You see, even an ogre can do that. But there's no way one would be looked on happily by family folk. I think there's a sort of line that needs to be made. And yeah, monsters can be useful, but there's other things at play, you know. My purpose as mayor would be to make sure people are happy, not frightened by creatures known for their appetite. Take the recent thing with the spider. Fine to be in Bendir lands, but within the walls, that's taking it too far.
Barshedge: As shown with the most recent meeting concerning the spider, I'm uncomfortable with choosing where lines are drawn. After all, I'm not the only person in this town. In fact, I'm a very small minority, but still a few Hin at least. I'd prefer to know what the majority of Dalers believe, and give them what they want. I'm very big on direct democracy. However, I believe that wild animals and the like, personally, have no reason to be in town if not fighting with their controllers to defend the town or its people. I'm sure they're happier outside of it too.
Shadow: Well, with regards to this question, i kind of agree with Johanna here. However, I feel that the wall is part of the problem. Before when we have the more open fence around the Dale, it gave a more open feel and the whole surrounding area felt more as one to me. Now, most tend to think of the Dale as the collection of buildings within the walls. But with a more open look, those folks with familiars and/or companions would not feel as if their friends were left outside, rather than just in another part of the lands. Now, that being said, I still wouldn't want someone waltzing through the lands with an undead minion in tow nonetheless. But I suspect it would help with the whole leaving-my-companions-outside issue.
The next question was asked by a guest speaker. The Gnomish male Barnaby.
Bendir Dale has been been populated dominantly by Hin over its history. What will you do to attract and encourage more Gnomes, Dwarves, and Fey - Especially fine, upstanding Gnomish folk - to come to Bendir Dale. How will you ensure they feel welcome and feel that their cultures are being honored here as well?
Barshedge: That there is a very good question. Really, it's not one I'd considered much, either. If people don't want to live here, I can't really change that. However, I suppose one thing could be to seek out and speak to those people who call us home and aren't Hin, learn more about their culture and have it taught in the classroom. Though it would take a while, slowly but surely, a more familiar and not so Hin-focused mindset would bleed in over time. Bendir Dale's main deterrent is it is considered a Hin village, and not a community for people who are often forgotten or ridiculed by a Human and Elven dominated world. The main obstacle would be to remove that stigma. It would take a long time and there's not really a quick fix to it. It has to be ingrained at a personal level what and who this town is for.
Shadow: Well, for one, what does one see when they walk upon the town, then into the gates? Hin militia, Hin merchants, Hin cows and Hin idols even! For one, we could help our other non-Hin citizens feel more welcome by having diversity within the community that works in and around the town. How about a few Dwarven and Gnomish merchants and guards? Also, a few of there idols mayhaps? Lets be honest, there is nothing about the culture of the town that screams Gnome, Dwarf or even Fairie. To help change that, we need to add diversity to the town that is more visible than the names in a ledger. I would invite you, Mr. Barnaby to sit and discuss some things you and other gnomes would like to see done around town and, again through open town forums, learn what the community wants from its leaders. And as citizens of the Dale, all Gnomes and Dwarves are part of the community as well.
Hardingdale: Well, those that have known me for long would also know i jump at the opportunity to remind folk that this town ain't just a Hin town. Hells, I remember when Goblins used to call Bendir Dale home too! One of the ex-mayors was Gnomish, and he's a good pal of mine. In my initial proposal it's something I mentioned about encouraging it, but you ask how. Firstly, it's about warmth and comfort. There's always been too many authority types putting off other folk from sticking about. Even people frowning on worship of Gods outside the Hin pantheon. It adds up to a closed off community much akin to the xenophobic Elves of Winya. It brings my heart joy when I see folk like Tuomas and such popping by in groups. Or when there's a bunch of bawdy Dwarves. I remember a couple of cousins in town being as Dwarven as they please and then a militia member comes over and boots them out. Stuff like that is the cause. They leave and spit truthful harsh words about how they're treated. Get rid of that, and there will be more reason for others to stay.
If elected Mayor, will you work with Druids and/or Rangers if you plan to expand the Dale and how will you make sure the least amount of damage possible is caused during the expansion?
Shadow: Well, as a former protector in the Grove, I know how the Druids and Rangers feel with regards to expansion. Even in regards to the last face-lift the Dale got, precautions were made and will always be done. So, also, I'd make sure we'd get whomever in to build things accordingly, instead of hiring whomever is the cheapest. Dale citizens as a whole have always lived in harmony with nature not against it.
Hardingdale: Short answer: Yes. It's always been in my mind to do so to easily coax out the wolves in the most suitable way. And in some ways, we're not pushing our boundaries, only reclaiming them. Building on the ruins of our old destructed government building. We have our limits. As Nick mentioned, we respect and live with nature, so we ain't going to diligently cut into the forest like they did to Luiren.
Barshedge: I don't think Bendir Dale needs to be expanded. There's plenty of unincorporated land on our own territory that can be developed for use. As a matter of fact, everyone has plans for what to do with it after election time. However, the Rangers and Druids of the forest have been friendly with us for as long as I can recall. Some nature-folk have already started to coax the wolves into a more suitable setting. If we ever planned to expand out. However, I would work with them to the fullest capacity of my station. They would know best how to harm the environment least.
What are your future plans for Bendir Dale and it's people? Where do you plan to lead us to, in the future?
Hardingdale: In the shortest answer I can manage, it would be a fruitful, happy, populated and busy future. A spark of life to push us to be seen and to be enjoyed across the island and beyond. Not scolded for being "angry". That, I hope, will be my legacy.
Barshedge: I hope that people will find the Dale a friendly, and free place to live. Myself? I don't plan to lead Bendir Dale any where. My philosophy on mayorship is that I am an instrument of the people's will. I'd want to hold more town meetings in the future so I can find out exactly what that will is and implement it as best I can. I'll lead it in the present, but that's not my place to decide the future.
Shadow: As with many of the topics here, yet again, it would seems Ms. Hardingdale and I have similar visions, as I too mainly just hope for a town that is full of life, and were one can come and enjoy the cultures of the many races that hopefully will regularly reside in the Dale. And for the island to bask in our wonders of life!

*Having spent many lonely nights in Crouching Lemur Monastery contemplating his future, Okra made a decision and told Ukre of it. He was unable to keep the Militia righted, strong, and heartily embraced by the hinfolk in his latest commission as officer. Suspicion and distrust were evident and the summary dismissal of all members was a stark blow. It would seem the town remained in good hands as the Mayoral debate showed that many hin would stand to move the town forward in a direction of it's choosing. He would not return to Bendir once the new mayor was installed no matter the outcome. Nor would he render judgement on their fitness for the office, having failed at his own. A reflection on his failure and a penance were due. Hopefully in time he could once again look at himself in the mirror and smile. These would not happen here however but back in Luiren where he would eventually rejoin with family and hopefully make an honorable life for himself. With that he packed his bags and descended the Skull Crags for the last time. When he reached the Troll infested lands of the lower foothills he did not turn right towards Bendir but left towards Cordor and the massive seagoing sailing ships at their dock. He did not look back.* //The End

Spending the majority of his last days on Amia at the Lemur Monastery, Ukre had ample opportunity to learn of his elder brother's feelings and plans. This time, instead of him deciding to leave and his brother following, it would be the other way around. He is not entirely without some sorrow at leaving, for he did have genuine affection for the Dale. He also had plans left to put into place, but he decided with the switch in Dale leadership away from Nof it would be best to leave it to others. Instead, he can now look forward to seeing his family and friends back home once more, and retelling of his adventures in this strange land. Hin wanderlust being what it is, he cannot say he will never return, but for now he says his goodbyes and ties up loose ends around the Dale before packing up and following his brother back to Luiren.
//was fun playing Ukre with everyone for so many years, might be back at some point but at the least I'll be taking an extended hiatus if not permanently retiring him

Various posters sprout up around Bendir Dale. Most prominently in Hinn Inn.
"In the evening of the 23rd day of Eleasias Bendir Dale will proudly host the Autumnal Equinox Festival in honour of Arvoreen.
Expect martial tournaments as well as a feast.
Prepare to bring yer pot helmet, yer best side arm and yer appetite!"
// This is a festival event due on the 23rd of September around 22:00 GMT. (11pm current UK time for reference.)

Woohoo! This will be a grand event!
A moustached halfling sporting heavy armor and a necklace of Yondalla smiles as he reads this
I better get ready and show them the might of a Hilltopple.
The hin hurries off into the Orc lands hefting a large shield and a mace seething with divine energy and giving a small hum.

Milo writes up a note under buildings
"It'd be nice to see a few more houses there, and maybe a nice outdoor Shrine dedicated to Yondalla and our other gods. I'm still new to the town, though, so the Shrine may nto be needed as much as others, but it's an idea. I was also thinking of a lookout tower, so we can have a broader view of our humble Dale and the surrounding areas."
The note is signed with an elegant hand

Let us build a temple! It can have four corners, as seems to be the style nowadays. One corner can have a Shrine to your Mother, One can have a shrine to the Dwarffather, One can have a shrine to whoever is responsible for these fairy types, and one - most importantly - a shrine to the Sparkling Wit!
A tremendous idea, I'm sure you'll agree. I'll start looking for the drapes now.

This is not entirely construction related, but I was going to suggest reclaiming Fool's Rush Inn since it has been left largely unused.
I would also like to suggest that we start making some of our local specialties more available, with the permission of the producers. Spiced Apple Wine (Hin Inn) Torrowfire Cartwheels (Bemmi) Sea Bass with Honeyed Apples (Egan) Bendir Dale Crawfish Gumbo (Egan) Honey Glazed Roast Beast (Egan)

Milo reads it and smiles, and starts to write a reply..
"I shall, though perhaps this 'Barnaby' has a good idea. We could build a temple to house more gods of our hopeful residents. If anything I myself, would be very inclined to help with any job and provide any material needed. I'll help in anyway I can."

Johanna,
I have experience with building and contruction, and would be happy to lend a hand there. I can also mine materials, but can't process them unless they're gems.
Speaking of which, I and a few other hin would love to see some means of gem cutting in the North-Dale.

A stuffed rare stag head of white fur neatly mounted on a wooden plank is delivered to Fendel for redecorating the inn.
Underneath it is engraved in common
"In memory of those plucked from home." The words are accompanied by an etching of a hounds head in black.

Belladonna wanders into the inn at one stage and sees the stag head and is immediatly sick over the floor of the inn. She stands rooted in place then as she cant draw herself away from the horrific sight and soon enough her eyes roll up into the back of her head and she collapses into a heap on the ground.

Milo hearing a thud, runs down from his room up in the Inn and gasps, seeing Bella faint. He quickly runs over to her, nimbly enough to avoid the mess, and tends to her. He glances up at the Stag head, raising a brow, but continues to help Bella. He takes her over to the couch and lies her down and tends to any problems he'd see. Occasionally, he'd glance back to the head, all the while, asking Bella if she's okay.

//Monday ? I think I could try and make it. Whilst walking through the Dale one afternoon, Milo spots the notice. He reads over and smiles; the corners of his mouth raising the full mustache up to accent the smile. He looks around to the townfolk and nods them to the notice, just in case they did not see. He then makes his way back to the Inn, whistling a cheery tune.

After returning from a "secret" and unnanounced, three month journey to the Mainland, Oscuron returns to the Isle of Amia. The day after he arrives in Cordor, he hears word of his village, that the Swifts have left, that there is a new Mayor in Bendir Dale and that the Militia has been disbanded, and to his surprise, its all true. After entering the Dale, he talks to some of the inhabitants to make sure of, that what he has heard, is correct. Oscuron heads to the inn to have a look at the notice board. He reads a couple of information notes and then spots the letter, as he reads it, his heart start pounding faster.. When he finishes reading, he feels a great pain in his chest and a great sorrow comes over him.. He asks himself a question as he leaves the inn..
