In the best traditions of our people, the marriage ceremony of Priest of Osiris, Imhotep, to the freewoman, Nefertari, Sorceress and artisan of Isis, will commence the 20th of Hammer, at 16:00 hours of the water clock and continue until all revelers have returned to their homes after the wedding party the 21st of Hammer.
The new bride will be escorted to her place of vigil and reflection on her new life to come by her friends and sisters. They will escort her in her finery, having been washed and purified before her goddess, to the Temple of the Eight, there to kneel in solitary, quiet and silent contemplation before the idol of Isis, where she will await the coming of her groom.
Having gained the permissions and necessary contracts for marriage from the Temple of Isis in Skuld, Priest of Osiris, Imhotep will pursue his bride. Wending his way through the dangers of the Whispering Rift and the open deserts between Djedet and the Temple, using only the gifts Osiris has blessed him with and his own wits. Once he has gained the presence of his bride he must then bring them both safely back to Djedet on his own, she is not permitted to assist him in anyway. This is a test from the gods, he must prove himself strong enough to protect her and any children they may have.
Once they have returned to Djedet, any priests present may bless them then send them to his house, where they will spend their first night as husband and wife. On leaving their house in the morning of the 21st of Hammer, there will be a celebration that will include all of Djedet, from the lowest slave to the highest official, nobles and commoners, priests and freemen alike will welcome the new couple to their new life together. The food will be delicacies from all over Khem, Amia and Ruathym, brought in to tempt the palates of all. All revelers are invited to stay as long as they like or the food and drink run out.
We have had much troubling times of late; let us all remember what it is to celebrate life and love for a time. Come one and all and celebrate that which we fight so hard for. All efforts will be taken to make certain that the festivities place no additional hardship on the area’s stressed supplies.
Remember: Celebration is not cause for rudeness, bad manners, illegal activities, indulging in quarrels or feuds, disorderly conduct. Abide by the laws of Djedet, they are as follows:
The jurisdiction of the Township of Djedet shall extend into the South into the Khalem as well as the West into the “Lost River” Region and including the Temple of the Eight.
The authority of the militia is absolute and their determination shall override any rules stated herein.
The Township of Djedet is a peaceful and prosperous one; those who meet a category below are hereby banned from the Township.
Those of Demonic or Devilish Descent
Those of Monstrous Husbandry, be you kobold, goblin, ogre or the likes.
Those who pursue and use necromancy, summon or defile the dead.
Those whose lineage is traced to Chromatic Dragon Kin
Those Drow who are members of the Lolthite Houses
Those who align themselves with followers of, or worship Evil Deities
Those who are known to be criminals as branded by the Township for past acts against it or its allies.
The following are minor changes in the usual laws and they only make sense under the circumstances:
All persons must remove their helmet and any additional face coverings while in the area protected by the Township.
Weapons are to be stowed in their proper fashion; blades sheathed, bowstrings unhooked, and staves powers inactivated. Unless person is a guard.
Assault against any person is forbidden. Assault will vary depending on degree of damage inflected and the peoples status involved in the act.
Theft or possession of stolen goods is grounds for punishment
The selling of ones services of loins and flesh shall be henceforth outlawed.
The harvest of crops in the Khalem region shall be restricted to the peoples of Mulhorand Descent and those they have charged to work for them or those with express permission.
The laws below shall apply to slaves or those who have been given charge of slaves.
All peoples of the Slave Caste, belong solely to the temples, they may be leased, not owned by others.
One must treat their leased slave with respect. One must not beat without offense or withhold food from said Slave. Proper Shelter and clothing will be provided for the slave or the Leaser will be considered in offense.
The customs of Djedet and the Mulhorand people will be respected and conformed to by visitors to the Township. These include but are not limited to the items listed below.
Respect shall be paid to priests who are denoted with three-circles across their forehead.
Slaves will be tolerated, but only those owned by the temples. Outsiders slaves will be confiscated and freed.
Cattle are not to be slaughtered for their meat except in a ritual overseen by clergy, or it will be considered unclean.
For those skilled in the art of summoning or have companions of non-sentient status these laws shall apply.
Only creatures of good intent and smaller than a human are allowed inside Djedet.
All creatures of dark summoning are malicious intent are barred from all lands around Djedet.
All actions taken by the creature will result in punishment of its master.
Ignorance of the laws are no defense, as a courtesy they are provided here to refresh the memories of guests wishing to attend the celebrations.

/////OOC: This will take place starting Friday the 20th of January at about 2 pm (14:00) PST {GMT -8}, 4 pm (16:00) CST {GMT -6}, 10 pm (22:00) GMT, and as people gather and leave continue through sometime Saturday the 21st of January. No, we won't be there the whole time and resets will not interrupt anymore then necessary, its an Open celebration. Mulan wedding celebrations can last days, we've broken this into two parts, the initial ceremonial claiming of his bride on Friday and the celebratory party both Friday and Saturday. We'd like as many Mulans as can make it to be there on Friday, that part might take 2-3 hours of your time, we'll speed of plot the all-night vigil 'Tari is supposed to stand (kneel) to about 1 hour RT. Would be nice to not have to 'fake' RP the blessings as Tari heads for and is left at the temple to pray and reflect or the blessings as they return, presumably safely. I think somewhere in there there's supposed to be a questioning of Imhotep's right to claim her, but not sure how that'll play out as the contracts are RP only, but anyone wanting to participate in any way is more than welcome.
This has not been overly structured for a reason, to allow the most people to participate that can and Mulan weddings are not overly structured events.
Also, all people participating in the event are, of course, invited to attend, as are the citizens of Khem.
