I am a bit confused I think on how this works exactly....so I am asking...
If I have a NOT CRAFTED ITEM...say, a Ring of Healing II (+2 regen ring)...this is straight from the loot drop...
And I want to put +5 Deflection AC on it...and have the required flawless mythal...
If I read things correctly...I can add 3 powers to the ring...which the +5 will be...
Is this not right?
Or
Is the +2 ring already full of 3 powers (regen is the + of the HP regen +1 or 3)

+5 ac is three powers, 2 regen is three powers as well.
You won't be able to add more to the ring of yours.

So that if you had a +2 regen ring to start you could add a +5 Deflection to it and then it would be full....well...that is a kick in the teeth...but thanks...helps me work out some things.... *scratch scratch*

Anytime. I know what you are feeling now. I kinda felt the same way when I found out that Armor Skin and Epic Prowess only was selectable once.. and when I found out that +4 ac on a dagger counts as two powers.

Yep...its okay though, I totally understand the thought here...it does stop exactly what I was thinking of doing...and I am sure I am not the first to think this nor will be the last.
But knowing how it works does help me know the value of things more, how to get gear and stuff...that is the biggest help....I can adjust to fit the reality.

Yeah, powers able to be mythalled onto items take into account the already existing powers on items.

*nods* Makes sense and is really the right way to go. Makes the loot drops worthwhile and allows for better balance.
Just tosses a gorilla wrench into my ideas the size that King Kong would use....lol.
But its all good. I will adapt and adjust.

Okay....I need to ask again to make sure I have this correct because I am being told I can buy a +5 AB trueforged Short Sword and add Keen, +4 enchantment to it....
Soooo....that is not jiving with what I was told here unless I am not getting it.
If the trueforged is +5 AB already and a D10 blunt damage added...its 4 slot maximum is full already is it not?
The +5 AB alone takes the 4 slots? And you cant even add d10 blunt damage...so i would figure that would be at least 1 slot...soooo....what am I missing?
Unless the +4 enchantment overwrites the +5 AB in the system and the D10 counts as 1...then I can see the keen added to it.

AB is only 1 power, as is damage, so an item with +5 AB & 1d10 blunt = 2 powers, which means you can still add 2 more powers to that item. You can add +4 enhancement bonus along with +5 AB, so that you'll have a +5 weapon, but only do +4 damage.

+5 enchantment is four powers, but AB is one. Each damage source is one power as well. So yes, you can add +4 enchantment and keen to that.

Okay so you can add 2 more powers total.
So say, on hit with a divine and keen with a perfect.
Or +4 enchanted and keen...etc....got it.
What about being able to cast a spell...that is 1 power also?

Yep. Everything is one power, unless it's in the list of exceptions on the page.

Perfects are being phased out though, I think. Right?

As I said, not saying this is a "oh I will go get it done today" thing...Krugan has so many irons in the fire right now its not funny..lol. Well, it is FUN...not funny...*wink*
