Someone will need to PM me what they want for the insignias, if that was decided.

Well, Lyle is ICly in charge of crafting the insignia himself, so we will let Bobo decide what the item is going to look like. It's most likely be a "Gem" or "Small Miscellaneous"
But as far as item properties...
No matter what we end up going with, unless it is specifically 0.0 weight items, we would like to request the insignia to have the Item Weight Reduction: 0% property so that we don't encumber people.
Those little plot items adds up and even 0.5 lbs or 0.3 lbs can be encumbering for some of the PC charas and we don't want our insignias to weigh anyone down.
We are also banning Chromatic and Shadow dragon disciples, but I don't know if a gate can check for that. It's not really necessary for the Gate to be able to check it if it's too much work, since there are other things that Gate doesn't check that are banned in the Dale too (Like Cyricists, Banites, etc).
Thank you so much, Paladin!

Not an expert at scripting but that sounds hard to do. It might have to be more enforced by the PCs than anything.

Even if the Gate can't check for it, it's metagaming to go through Bendir Dale as a chromatic/shadow dragon disciple once the law is in effect. You don't need a PC to tell you this. This is no different than Brogendenstein and Kohligen where it would be metagaming to go inside those towns as a chromatic disciple.

After level 1 DD, scales are a dead give away. ^^;
Natural armor boost via scales = character has scales of their ancestor's color = not just something a little bit of cover girl will cover up.

Natural armor boost via scales = character has scales of their ancestor's color = not just something a little bit of cover girl will cover up. Actually it says the scales are nearly invisible at the beginning and become more apparent as they increase in thickness. Quote: Natural Armor Increase (Ex): As his skin thickens, a dragon disciple takes on more and more of his progenitor's physical aspect. At 1st, 4th, and 7th level, a dragon disciple gains an increase to the character's existing natural armor (if any), as indicated on Table: Dragon Disciple. These armor bonuses stack. And in the NwN Wiki, under Draconic Armor it says the scales are nearly invisible. Quote: Draconic armor Type of feat: class Prerequisite: red dragon disciple
Specifics: The character becomes more draconic in appearance. His skin develops tiny iridescent scales, nearly invisible. This provides increasing natural armor bonuses to his base armor class.
class level 1 5 8 10 15 20 25 30 AC bonus +1 +2 +3 +4 +5 +6 +7 +8
Use: automatic This means really, unless those wing sprout you can't really know a Dragon Disciple until they "Dragon out" with a breath weapon or something. Of course, once those wings show up they are busted as metalic or chromatic or planar.

Dusty's right, Simeron. Scales become more visible with each level. The description saying they're nearly invisible is how they are when they first grow in. By level 8, they're thick enough to provide a +3 AC bonus, so saying the wings are the first indication is silly. Especially since it's supposed to become obvious, as Dragon Disciples become more and more like their ancestors, physically and mentally the more rituals they do. There's no hiding it, and thinking you can is metagaming guards.

Try to explain it away however you like, Kru, but it doesn't change the lore or Amia specific fluff on the class. While the scales themselves are nearly invisible, the skin tint changes reflecting the underlying scale color are impossible to hide or conceal. Wings are simply a dead give away and the general go-to as well as a mark of near-fully embracing one's already evident heritage. However, now with the "No Head Covering" policies all over the place, facial skin would be an easy tell. It isn't all too thick compared to other regions of one's epidermis. Here is how: As the scales aren't invisible, as noted by the key word "nearly," they aren't generally instantly recognized as individual scales at level 1 DD but rather resemble an unusual, unnaturally colored continuous layer of skin. When considering how thin skin layers on the face are, is pretty much enough for any gate guard (Bendir or any town) to blow the whistle the moment that facial covering comes off. Crash course in ritual formation of scales in DD progression (in line with what Jes was saying) : Upon completion of the first ritual, a layer of scales replaces the recipient's deepest layer of skin. As they progress, this layer strengthens and grows, slowly working its way up to the top layer which it fully replaces upon completion of the tenth ritual.

What I said is that by the time the wings come in, you're busted. But again, its however they are done on Amia. These are just the guidelines from the Wiki.

Mayor Lyle, Lyam, Laurel Quote: Mayor Lyle, Captain Lyam, Officer Laurel
This letter is to inform you that Amenia was taken by the same two Drow Shadow Assassins that have been chasing Zhai as I reported earlier. They attacked us near the bridge outside the walls as the Orcharder should be able to confirm this.
The Road Warden apparently had better things to do then help defend us. (this is struck through but can be read)
I stumbled into the Dale proper once I regained consciousness and found a letter stating they wanted me to bring Zhai to the underdark.
As you know Laurel, as you healed me, I was near death and quite out of sorts. I no longer have the note as I left it with someone in the Dale. Laruel you should be able to tell more I hope.
Officer Bria of the Cordor Guard helped me locate Zhai in the forest to the north. Her reaction I will only say was less then I feel it should have been but, she did end up leading us to the Drow encampment where Amenia was being held.
Things are fuzzy for me after this but, the next I knew, Roim and I were back in the forest at the lay line, Amenia was with us, near death and dying. He body badly damaged, most bones broken. She had been bound, tortured and left for dead.
I used the power of a heal scroll I carry with me to stave off her death and quickly ran to the healer temple. Sir Jerand, who is a master healer himself both magical and mundane, came with his assistant. He was able to help her despite great pain given to her during this process.
She is resting and will need to continue to rest and recover for some time. Given the healing, magical and mundane, he estimated between a few days to a week. Given the degree of her injury, it is a testament to my wife's strength and love for me that this is possible.
Before she fell asleep...she said that the Drow gave a warning and sent her as a message.
This is their message.
Most could not survive what she did. The kidnappings will only increase in number and severity to the victims unless Zhai is given over to them or they capture her.
I am not sure exactly what she has done but, I can tell you this...she has been meddling with the Temple of the Spider Queen by her own words and picked a fight with them. She feels she has control of the situation.
As you can imagine, I do not share this view..at...all.
Nor do my contacts.
Lyam, we have spoken of this, of the coming malestrom, it is beginning. I will leave it to you to to further any and all information I have given you.
Lyle, if you can please attend to Amenia as you can and also you Laurel. I am no cleric.
I will be trying to do what I can but, I will be spending most of my time tending to her needs over the next week to a tenday.
I have heard the news of the new laws....if we are to be forced out...I beg of you to wait until she can be moved without further distress upon her. I hope our efforts to defend our home in the Dale at least warrant us this much if not more.
Master Krugan si Palaes

Breazy Quote: Breazy,
You are not safe in your home anymore unless the Dale puts milita over here. Twice now, Amenia and I have been attacked almost on your doorstep...the last time, last night, we were felled and she was taken by Drow Shadow Assassins.
They intend to increase their attacks and kidnappings and unless the Dale can further increase their defenses...and maybe even if they do...you are not safe here.
I have informed Laurel, Lyam and Lyle of the situation. Up to them what they do.
Amenia is returned to me but hurt and needing rest. I have hired a personal guard for her and will spend my time attending to her while seeing if my contacts can find out anything more.
Given the new laws of the Dale, I expect Amenia and I will be force from here all to soon. The efforts we have done to stave off this coming malestrom of shite just aren't enough and while I love the Dale, have many friends here and have come to see it as our home, I am tired.
Tired of working to keep safe those that cast out my love for no reason but a misguided idea she is a slave to some predisposed nature.
Tired of helping those that are arrogant and snide saying how its MY fault Amenia got taken because I couldn't defend her.
Tired of trying to do the right thing over and over, only to be told how I am just as wrong or evil or whatever no matter what I do.
Others can slander me, name me a slaver and even when it is proven they lied about it, they pass the blame about like the worst thieves and rogues in Zhentil Keep...nothing is done or said. Its fine, they are good.
But we, who have done nothing but try to help, are cast out...branded for no wrong doing. Those we help are ungrateful and worse to us.
And that is perfectly acceptable.
People talk of how Tarkuul is so evil. How those there are evil. Yet I find it laughable now.
In all my days with dealing with Tarkuulians or even Drow Breazy...they have been honorable and kept their bond. They make no pretense at what they believe.
Yet with rare exception, the so called good people in Kohl and the Dale have shown they are more evil, selfish and bigoted then those they brand evil. They cast out and judge others not on facts but their own, personal, whims.
This, to me, is what is truly evil.
Evil focuses on self. Good does not.
I know their arguments...how they are serving the greater good...thinking of others...just more lies to comfort themselves so they can sleep at night.
I am not sure how much longer Amenia and I will be here. I wanted to warn you of your danger. To thank you for being our friend.
Amenia would probably like to see you now. Please come and make my wife smile some. She needs it.
I will try a bit more to help the Dale. To go until the last to honor my promise to help them without most knowing I am. But if they cast Amenia out, I must tell you this means I am no longer bound by my promise to defend them in any way.
You know the drow are but one of many dangers. If the time comes I will remove the efforts and other things I have set in place to defend the Dale, however large or small they are.
When this happens, you need to be away from there. Roim also...Lyam and the rest...be far from this place...go to Cordor or Uhm or take a wagon to Kampos though, that may be too close.
Maybe nothing will happen...but given the forces arrayed against the Dale...the Knights and the Grove are not going to be much help and worse, there are plans to give them plenty to focus on before Bendir falls under attack.
I don't think the Knights and Druids will be able to send much help as they will need help themselves.
One would think...given history...of Kohl being destroyed or the Dale being over run, people would learn to quit painting bright targets on themselves.
It appears however, one would be wrong.

Krugan,
Take Amenia to the Salandrans right this instant. They are the best healers on the isle and will be able to help her recover much more quickly with both their magical and herbal remedies.
I could not make sense of some of what you have written here. Come speak to be directly.

Krugan,
I can guarantee she'll be allowed in the Dale until after the election.
-Mayor Lyle
And Lyle informs his militia to make an exception to Amenia but, naturally, to watch her.

Krugen,
I saw Amenia last night and am glad to say all though weak she was in good spirits. And I am very glad that she made it through.
As for my house, I thank you for your concern but I will be fine. Do not worry for me. I am more than capable of protecting myself and my guests. I am sorry that I was not there for you and Amenia. But rest easy on my account. I have no need of added protection.
Please stop by the Dale for drinks and we will catch up on events.
With Love, Breazy

This is in the town hall.
Copper Industries will be constructing the North Dale's gate.
We've already made a down payment, and will hopefully have the construction done soon.

Hin known to you show very little decorum in their attitudes towards polite and civil execution in their dealings with Mulhorandi. On three occasions Hin of the Dale have shown excessive rudeness and poor manners in their dealings with the people of the God-kings. Most recently a female Hin carrying a magical stave interupted my crafting routine before I gave her and her companion permission to use the forge before me. Should I have been in the process of actually crafting the weapon, the fallout could have caused consequences to the weapon, myself or the Hin both. Though I will not press the issue, your people should learn to comport themselves with more dignity when dealing with those that went out of their way to offer the Dalelings succour during their time of need.

And Lyle informs his militia to make an exception to Amenia but, naturally, to watch her. Quote: Thank you Mayor Lyle. I have heard you will soon be a father? If this is so, my deepest and most heartfelt congratulations!
Amenia is recovering well. I came upon her and Lyam as he and Laurel....asked...her to leave. It was a most unpleasant situation as you can understand but, I took her to Cordor and have made arrangements for accommodation in Shadowscape for the moment while she recovers.
I am currently clearing out our things from the wagon and will send word to remove my application to the Scouts to Lyam. I must also resend my request to be a citizen for obvious reasons.
As I have told Lyam in private, the Dale is facing some very serious troubles and recent actions have put it front and center of many groups visions. I have done all I can to keep the peace for the Dale was our home. I don't know what fruits my efforts bore but, I am told that it was good and plentiful.
My honor dictates this Lyle, no ill will is bore by me to anyone within the Dale. But I keep my bonds and words as well as I can and when it is broken, it causes me great distress.
I must inform you that I can no longer do this for the Dale. It is apparent that after the election, Amenia will not be wanted within the walls of the fort despite having nearly been killed helping others and fighting in defense of the Dale itself. It seems no matter her actions, many believe her circumstances of birth are all that matter. I do not know what will come, if anything, from this. Perhaps nothing, perhaps much. Time will tell. I can tell you I know of at least seven groups, large and small, that are moving in and about the Dale on all sides of the moral and ethical axis. You hin have put yourself in the eye of the malestrom and then set about dancing like nymphs in front of Shareans men that have been alone on their own individual islands for a month.
I have also come to find that I am banned form the lands of Khem by order of the Mulan there which, is odd, as I did not realize they ruled there. We are working this out but my crime, it seems, is I am married to Amenia.
This is caused by the same individual that has told me that if I left my wife and changed my ways I would be in their good graces again. By the same one that labeled me a slaver, denied it to my face and then I came to find out from a high Triadic knight that his wife and another Knight heard her say this. The same one I suspect have cause this shift in the Dale.
I ask you this Lyle, would you leave your wife if she had never done anything wrong simply because people told you that dragons are greedy creatures that when they become enraged will kill you without knowing it? That they use guile and trickery to get what they want?
I think not. You do not strike me as one that gives much care what others think honestly.
The Dale will be a poorer place when you step down sir. I hope I have caused you no trouble in my time here.
Amenia and I may be around the Dale until the end of your tenure though...it will depend on her recovery speed.

With Love, Breazy We will be about Breazy, please come to Shadowscape and enjoy our hospitality for a change. You can see the fine room we have made up even. Krugan

*message is left at Cindle by a green robed woman*
To representatives of the Dale,
Earlier today, I worked on the construction site, with couple of people acting as added protection - drow named Rhyl, elven archer Silgara, elven swordswoman Fox and lathanderite Loynis, and later we were joined by tempurian cleric Bralor. Situation was peaceful until rotting pseudodragon appeared from the forest and started bothering passing people. After he attacked a passing human shifter and starting attacking walls in construction, Bralor and shifter attacked it and gave chase after him to the forest. Since they didn't return for some time, we decided to check the situation. We found them just at the entrance to the forest, in zombie-like state, with elven figure with same pseudodragon and construct watching them from behind. We immediately engaged and defeated the female, realizing she was in fact drow. While Loynis took care of the body I returned to the construction site, where Rhyl and Fox disabled Bralor and other human who tried to attack the walls. Loynis came soon after after he buried the drow, and he managed to resurrect them as I repaired minor damage they managed to inflict to the site. I was told by Silgara that drow female is known traitor to the Dale named Izzy, worshiper of drow deity Kiaransalee. She had no special symbols on her, except strange veil on her face, silvery white with black lines. I noticed nothing else specific on her worth mentioning. I write this to appraise you of this situation and to ask for increased security measures until construction is done. Thank you for consideration.

Quote: Mayor Lyle,
This will in all likelihood be my final report on threats to Bendir Dale. I wish to take the opportunity to thank you once again for allowing Amenia and I some time to collect our things and say good bye to the many friends we have here in the Dale. I hope my time in service to the Dale has been well spent. As you know, the passing of the new law now prevents me from honoring the promise I made to you those many days hence. I must tend to my wife first as you understand.
We will not be far, in the city of Cordor or at the Academy in Shadowscape where I am to be promoted to full Instructor.
Amenia is slowly regaining her strength also, gods be thanked.
I have reported to Sir Jerand Whiterose many things I know and have learned in the last three days as he has tended Amenia and myself. He will attempt to provide this to the Knights to help in the defense of the Dale should the coming war erupts as I fear.
Drow activity has remained high about the Dale. Expect fewer kidnappings but more bloodshed as you strengthen your defenses on this front. I do not think a major issue will come but, possible skirmishes and the odd kidnapping.
Slaver activity will also remain about the same but, I do expect them to return with some force.
There are several other groups that will be positioning themselves in the power structures of the island however and I expect they may well prove to be troublesome, if not deadly, to the Dale. They are strong in number and well experienced. Sufficiently so that even the best of your militia may not be good enough to fell them all. Be watchful and careful and continue to strengthen your defenses to the north but do not forget the wall to the Mylock Hills. There is but one lone guard along that entire wall. He can be easily overwhelmed and none in the Dale would know this before that wall would be gone and the dale flooded with enemy, especially if the mylocks can be hearded against it.
I know your term is coming to an end but, leave this note to whomever takes over your spot as they will have their hands very full.
I wish you well and hope your coming child, if rumors are correct, is healthy, happy and brings you much joy.

Just as a thanks for having me as your mayor. -Mayor Torrowfire Outgoing Mayor for Life // Looking at sometime after Christmas but before new years, but sound off. also, this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_circuses

*The following note is tacked to the lid of the new donations chest*
Dear Bendir Dale Citizens and cherished guests, As some of you may have noticed, a new chest has appeared and its purpose is two-fold!
Firstly: Feel free to use it as a means to donate to the Dale's building efforts. Supplies are always welcome. Help support the supports that support our amazing and changing town!
Secondly: Any and all adventuring citizens as well as cherished visitors that wish to part with old arms, armor, and equipment of magical nature and have the mind to freely donate them to our fine guards, may also make such donations in this chest. Our very own General Nof has, and continues to do, an outstanding job overseeing the training of Bendir's finest non-adventurering defenders. We encourage all brothers, sisters, and friends to help provide our kin with top notch gear to match their top notch training!
Inner Warmth, ~Nina Thorrow-Meadowlark, Deputy Mayor of Bendir Dale
