Well, if he is a Warrior-Bard (Your words), why is it that you're not taking some Fighter (Or Barbarian) levels?

I mean, I know pureclass is very cool but the difference between 30 Bard and ...say, 25Bard/5Fighter is not that dramatic in terms of the Song, and you get all those extra feats and proficiencies (Including Warhammer and Battleaxe!), and a lot more room on your gear considering you won't need 100 Perform...

When i say warrior-bard I mean one who is conscious of the fact that he is a warrior, and not a pansy, wine-drinking cormyrian with a silly hat, outrageous accent and a sharp rapier (yes, i already got the 25/5 covered). So I rather want a pure bard, both for spells and song.

Edit: As of now my other dilemma is wether to go for HP and fort saves by starting at 15 str and 12 con and spend the surplus epic feat that would go to great strenght on epic fort instead, or start with 16 strenght and 10 con for less HP but +1 AB and damage.

If you're going 30 bard, then looking at skill focus perform may not be a bad idea, honestly. You may also want to consider more than the base 16 charisma. You'll need to have 100 or over perform to take advantage of the +7 AC song for pure bard.

With skill focus and a raise to 18 base cha at epic levels, I calculate that I will then have 50 perform unbuffed (33+4+10+3). Now, what I am uncertain of is if stat buffs are calculated into the 50 skill cap. If not, then i won't need SF perform. If it is, then I must have it.

As for weapons choice, I discovered that one can request monkey grip. Possibly, i can just go for a proper spear then. Even if morningstar looked pretty good while fighting as well.

I got 100 Perform from 16 Charisma and only the Epic version of SF. I'm pretty confident that the boost you get from ...uh, +10CHA will not count toward the +50 limit.

It doesn't. The only reason I suggested the feat is because that +50 limit comes at a cost to other things you could use on your equipment.

33 + 10 (charisma) + 10 (ESF) = 53. Without the pre-epic variant, that's 47 perform you have to slap onto your equipment elsewhere.

Bard 16, KC 5, XDD 9. Tough enough on his own and can buff like crazy :)

Seems like a big investment loss of Lasting Inspiration just for wings... 21 Bard, 5 KC, 4 Dragon Disciple... But I think 20 Bard, 5 Fighter, 5 KC would fare the best.

the requirement of lasting inspiration are:-

Quote:
Type of feat: general (epic)
Prerequisite: 21st level, perform 25, bard song

Am I wrong thinking you can get this when taking a bard level say from Character level 22 onwards?

EDIT: ah damn i missed the extra small print, I'll have to re-work that build

I'd say bard 20, KC 5, and XDD 5 then. The little boost of 2 ac and 2 ab from the XDD would be nice,

suppose its whether you will prefer the +6 damage or the +2 AC wither you go 5 fighter or 5 XDD

5 Fighter is not needed. Take another level of Bard to for slighter longer spells and DC.

Slifer or Mahir?

Slifer is a Bard, fighter, WM.... And is never played.

Mahir is a Bard/KC ! No fighter levels but... he is a warrior bard :P

Some questions I have about builds that the nwn wiki doesn't clearly answer-

1. What's the highest AB a character can get at level 30 (with feats and equipment)?

2. None of the Feats that increase saves count against the +20 cap, correct?

3. Does racial energy resistance stack with energy resistance from items?

1. I'm just going to take a wild shot at this but either fighter10/wm19/druid1 BAB25 +4 from WM, or bard10/aa19/druid1 BAB22 +10 from AA, both DEX based... well the latter build i suppose:

Base Attack is 22
44 DEX is +17 modifier [moon elf, starting dex 20, Great Dex V]
WF+EWF+EPr is +4
Enchant arrow is +10
Nature sense is +2 in wilderness
Point blank shot in range is +1
True Strike is +20

Total AB=76

Can't think of a way to get more, builders feel free to get a crack at this, i'm curious myself ;p

EDIT: I just read up that weapon enhancement bonus is part of the +20 cap... how disappointing. In any case, if target is blind and stunned - another +4 to attack, 80 total.

2. I'm guessing they don't count, in a same way as Epic Skill Focus doesn't count to the +50 skill cap, but i can't be sure.

EDIT:
Wiki: Saving throw wrote:
A cap of +20 exists on saving throws (directly) increased by means of magical equipment, spells, or spell-like feats. Some non-spell-like feats — arcane defense and sacred defense — also count towards the cap, while others — iron will, dark blessing, and divine grace — do not. Indirect bonuses, such as from increasing the relevant ability, do not count towards this cap.

So no, they don't count. Also, yay blackguards.

3.
Wiki: Damage Resistance wrote:
For the most part, damage resistance does not stack. For each damage type, only the highest resistance granted by a spell or (equipped) item is used. However, damage resistance from feats (resist energy and epic energy resistance) does stack with — and is applied before — other sources of damage resistance, even though the feats do not stack with each other.

This is a question for a developer though, Amian racial feats might not have the same attributes as bioware resistance feats.

Fighter 9 / Bard 2 / AA 19 gets more AB. I'm not sure why this fact matters, though.

I'm thinking of making a DEX based, epic dodging weapon master. I've never made a DEX based WM so I need a little help from those that know best.

Human (15 rogue/ 8 fighter/ 7 weapon master)
STR 14, DEX 18 (26), CON 10, INT 14, WIS 8, CHA 8

PRE-EPIC: (8 rogue/ 6 fighter/ 6 weapon master)
dodge, mobility, weapon finesse, weapon focus, expertise, weapon spec, spring attack, whirlwind attack, improved crit, KD/IKD, blind fight

EPIC:
21 WM (7) epic weapon focus
22 R (9)
23 R (10) imp evasion
24 R (11) great dex I
25 R (12)
26 R (13) defensive roll
27 R (14) epic dodge
28 F (7)
29 F (8) epic weapon spec
30 R (15) armor skin

I think it's pretty solid but is there anything I can do to make it better or anything that I did wrong? Thanks guys!

looks pretty solid, i have something like it almost exact except it's a drow. could maybe lower the strength and dex by 1 to get an extra con but I'm not sure if that's better or worse. With a rapier you'll be doing okay dps for a dex class. Your Ac should come out around 65ish with standard gear. Might as well go 13 rogue/10 fighter/7 weaponmaster and grab yourself an extra feat in the epic. Probably prowess or epic fort

I personally would be very tempted to squeeze Improved Two Weapon Fighting in there. Reasons for this are two-fold. First of all, a dex WM/Rogue has most of his damage based on crits and sneaks, means that vs things that are immune to those your damage will be marginal. Secondly, Epic Dodge combined with extra dexterity AC gives you the comfortable option of losing the shield for those extra two attacks.

Problem is you'd have to drop 2 rogue for 2 fighter, Armor Skin and ...IKD. You could also drop WM to 5 and take 2 more fighter to keep the IKD, 10-20/x3 vs 12-20/x3 is not a huge deal but i'm not sure how comfortable you'd be with that.

In any case, 2 extra attacks give you more damage in the end anyway.

DerkDerkistan wrote:

Gets the same AB as bard10 in wilderness but yeah, probably a viable build that way. And why does it matter? It doesn't, it's just for funsies.

If a character takes his 20th level of Wizard at level 21, can the Wizard bonus feat be an epic general feat like Great Dexterity?

I'm quite sure that's not possible. The wizard should get to select from the list of epic wizard bonus feats (see http://nwn.wikia.com/wiki/Wizard for this list), but not from the epic general feats. Bonus feats are always restricted to such a list.

Btw, epic spells are on that list, but Wiz 20 does not qualify for them yet, you need Wiz 21.

Just to add to that: You can take Great INT as a bonus feat then. Maybe you can start with one less INT and one more DEX on your character, and then take Great INT on level 21 as the bonus feat? If you currently maximize INT, this might even be a better setup (except for a loss of skill points, probably).

AC whoring.

Seriously, that's the only thing I can think of. It's a PM build so spellcasting is not going to be affected much by high INT (from what I can gather, I know the extra spellslots are useable... right?) and that 24 DEX (probably with +12 DEX gear, too) is an added 13 to AC. So +23 AC from DEX and PM levels.

Unless I'm totally missing something in my calculations?

If that's the case, I'm not touching that build with someone else's keyboard. Because screw that BS.

Like any build, it has it's strengths and it's weaknesses. Obviously AC is something I'm going for in this build. I was just wanting to know if there are any mistakes in the build as it is written, I don't need opinions on how it could be something else or whatnot. I'm pretty sure this has nothing wrong with it now that I've gone over it so many times, but if anyone can spot a mistake (with the feats really), then I'd be grateful. I'm just paranoid that I'll make a mistake in-game.

Yes, the AC whoring is the mistake.

Someone had to say it. And I'm only half-joking.

+23 AC vs +4 STR? That's not exactly the same thing.

And for the record, taking only 4 XDD for the STR bonus is terrible in my book, too.

Besides, nobody told him not to play it. It's just that certain builds only have one application. This one's is PvP. If I posted a build like that here, I'd expect to catch hell for it, too.

Or I could make a Wizard/Shadowdancer, or any Sneak build with high Dex and Epic Dodge. There are plenty of powerful builds to make, and as long as there isn't a rule against any of them, they will be built. Lots of complainers here. Don't blame the playa, blame the game.

Deal with it.

Except a stealth build is supposed to have high Dex? Because it's, you know, a stealth build? Not exactly congruous with what the build you came up with does.

Besides, nobody told him not to play it. It's just that certain builds only have one application. This one's is PvP. If I posted a build like that here, I'd expect to catch hell for it, too.

Exactly, and this is the same gruff I'd give you or anyone

1. I bet any amount of money, that the PM/Mage build can be beat by a WM/Any mage/ Cleric/Barbs/ and Bards
2. Mage Shadow Dancers arn't that great anymore either, and neither is ShadowDancer builds period since the nerf
3. This build is more for PvM then anything as I stated in 1.

It's not that great of a build. Even with the high ac it has no save, no BAB and basically nothing else other then AC going for it. Hellball is blockable and Greater Ruin is countered with one Heal pot. Guess what? This build isn't that great.

Sorry. I had to say it.

Seriously though...

This build only has two classes- Wizard and Pale Master. It seems the implication is that Pale Masters are a whore class. I would argue that no class or build is a whore considering how much fine-tuning has been put into making Amia balanced. I think the build is good, but it's not without it's weaknesses.

Somebody said a Wiz/SD is crap now? I disagree. You can make one with 65ish AC, so no need to spam HiPS anyway. Any drow Monk/Assassin/SD could still rape without spamming HiPS too.

If it's not against the rules, you really shouldn't complain. Maybe you all should compalin more so that everything gets nerfed until there is no more fun in making builds. Fun is why we are all here....but I guess some people have fun ruining other people's fun too, so carry on with your finger pointing and your boos.

Palemasters get Hide and Move Silently as class skills.
