Can you add a sound to a specific item so that it plays if you click on it?

I would imagine so. You can add scripts as an OnClick response, IIRC.

Naivatkal wrote: Thanks, that's good to know. Wasn't sure on the constructs for one hah. Only the Stone Golem can speak, Iron and Demonflesh Golems cannot. Some NPC golems are capable of speaking through magical means concocted by their creators, but by default, most golems cannot speak at all. A little bit of a debate exists about elementals being able to speak, but the consensus seems to be that they can, despite actual elementals not typically knowing Common at all, at least not in rules. This's because they're magical beings, who can see without eyes, hear without ears, and so forth. I would like a DM to answer the elemental question, because it ultimately boils down to house rules. A druid cannot cast spells while in an elemental shape without the Natural Spell feat, which leads me to believe that they aren't able to speak while in these shapes. Quote: This feat does not permit the use of magic items while you are in a form that could not ordinarily use them, and you do not gain the ability to speak while in a wild shape. My own opinion? Don't speak Common while shifted into an elemental, but if your character happens to know Auran and turns into an air elemental? Feel free to speak Auran, since the elemental shape in question is mechanically capable, without any level of ambiguity about it. Also, most magical beasts aren't capable of normal speech, even if they have an adequate intelligence for it, so the safe answer is usually... don't.

Fiendfolio says demonflesh can speak, and i couldn't see a reason why iron would be any different honestly. Where did you read that?

I assumed them to fall under the same category as flesh golems, but the sourcebook you referenced does claim that Demonflesh Golems are capable of understanding and speaking Abyssal. That taken into account, it would be plausible to assume that they are capable of speaking Common as well. Iron Golems have no manner of vocal apparatuses at all, hence they are incapable of speech, unless vested the ability via magic. d20srd.org wrote: An iron golem cannot speak or make any vocal noise. If you want a babbling Iron Golem with a functional mouth, make a custom shapeshift request with all the appropriate steps, in my opinion!

None that I know of, but they are not incapable of speech, as detailed by d20srd.org, whereas the other two golems included specificly are. When I said "request an iron golem with a mouth" I just meant one with the innate ability to speak, physically or magically. Not literally with a set of lips, tongue and vocal chords, necessarily!

I find it a little arbitrary of them with the golem speech. How could one without a mouth be capable and another in the same situation not. Obviously that had nothing to do with you sphinx, as your research is solid. Just a curious situation. Eh whatevs.

Because now, we can use Time Stop "from items", aka scrolls most likely. But we can't scribe them, so I guess we can find Time Stop scrolls somewhere, now?

You misread the memo. They re-added scroll functionality and that means it is scroll usable! As Sune said, they still need to enable it and thus do intend to. /spelling it out needlessly?

I really hate Epic fails at research, but I really can't find anything on the history of Wiltun. Can someone point me in the right direction as it is very important that I know more. Thank you if you can help

There's some pretty good Wiltun info to be found in game, actually. Check out the bio blurbs on the trophies in the Keep's front hall.
Also, there's a bit of info in the "Know Your Leaders" thread stickied in the Lore forum.

I have just heard an interesting story about how Amia has now changed bludgeoning weapons with the keen property so that it no longer stacks with the improved critical feat for that weapon type, my question is ~is this true?~ I am in the process of performing various searches on this forum but coming up with no patch changes i can see?
Quite worried my new build plan has just been ruined....

In theory, only slashing weapons should have the Keen enchantment in D&D. However, if any changes to the enchantment or to Improved Critical have been made, I'm unaware of them.

This is not true. I have a character currently with a warhammer (and Improved Critical for it) and her keen weapon has an 18-20 threat range.

There have never been any OOC notes on our weapons about their threat range. In fact, out of all the weapons, only the heavy flail was accidentally changed to a 20 crit threat range, but that was fixed. If we were going to make a change like this, we'd announce it.

Thanks Sune, I kind of assumed this would be the case but the person I spoke to mentioned about OOC notes as well, could someone screen shot the weapon info and post it for interest please? Also afaik the Keen property in NWN is independent of weapon or damage type, in PnP it also applies to any type of weapon but I believe the name of the property changes but its stats do not.

If there were OOC notes, then it managed to slip in somehow via a weapons plugin we did for monks lately. Still, we'd have announced it either way.

weapon of impactBasically the equivalent of Keen Edge (the spell), for blunt weapons. Or, simply, the Impact property (Faiths and Pantheons, page 27) The NwN Keen item property applies to all weapons, while in PnP this property only applies to piercing and slashing weapons.

so it was an accident? okay then, combine that with MANY ooc notes on blunt weapons about impact property, a quick google of impact property will tell you it does not stack with improved crit, looking at the character sheet at the time reading 18-20 crit range while leveling a character, you can see how some of us got worried. here are the ooc notes that appeared on my weapon i had already, on my last trip to the abyss shop EVERY blunt weapon had this, again if its unintentional fair enough but something that should be looked into because its confusing as hell. image is kind of small, best i could do.

Basically what that's saying is that the weapon is emulating Impact with Keen. It works just like Keen mechanically.

So far as I know, the policy is "go for it." The server has scripts in place to keep disarm from being too abusive, I believe.
