None of the methods work for me and I do not have NWNcx installed. I added the IP bypass to my local host file for the nwnbioware multiplayer server and the gamespy server. Nothing worked before or after I did this. I am in Texas.

I just installed NWNCX and it worked, if you want to get on you have to install NWNCX and direct connect to 185.29.203.8:5986, let it timeout and when you cancel the direct connect the amia servers populate in history ... so odd but only way till they fix the issue..

Tried that with and without NWNCX it still hasn't worked for me. I'll just wait for a post with a static IP resolution. Like someone else said even if you can get in their isn't much going on as should be expected with only four of five players able to login.

Well this was only way I could, where are you located? Maybe its a geographic route issue.. Yes, an NSA owned bank of routers got shutdown because we can't pay someone to watch the blinking lights @ $35.00 an hour after Gov. shutdown.. :shock:

Using a port scanner, ports 49154 and 49156 are open for 185.29.203.11. I still can't direct connect using those though.

Might as well call it random. Some can, some can't.
No one is going to find the magic way to fiddle with IP's and the server select screen that works for everyone.
But if you all do insist on going on with this, help yourself out and create some order in your own chaos.

dunno if Disco still wants regional reports or not, but none of the workaround or tricks posted are working. West coast USA. I can usually get the servers to appear in history or favorites, but with a ping of -1, level range of 255-255, and 0/0 players. Amia A is listed as unnamed server, while B is properly called Amia Abroad.

Same here. Western Australia, GMT +8. No NWNcx.

Edit: Tried adding all mentioned ports to favourites, no luck. Tried them all with direct connect, no luck.

Already said this but think its in other thread. New Mexico (southwest USA). No extender. Tried all IPs. Still greyed out in history and favorites. Clicking server details only gives me the IP as listed, no different ports showing up. I don't know how to ping or whatever so... yeah... that's it. Now we wait.

Russia (NW district, SPb), UTC+04, NWN 1.70, no NWNCX, gamespy baned on firewall, GNU Linux amd64 + wine 1.6.
No direct connect, but able to connect via history or favorites. Server ports are constantly changing in high range. Servers by-ip are grayed out, but servers by name are blue (and ok).
Still, direct connect with the address:port from 'Server Info' (185.29.203.8:someport) works fine. %-S

Anyway, this thread makes me depressed. Just post if you can get in or are happy otherwise. Server is screwed, that much is clear. Gonna have a look what the alternatives are (not that I actually know where our server is located atm, see the original topic of this thread). In short, we're at the mercy of other people and that's never a good place to be.

Disclose the hosters support contact info and let us all call them and ask what is up

It works well for me at home (185.29.203.11:5121, favourites)

But when I get at work (different internet connection), the server's greyed out.

(Same laptop, I live in Quebec)

I have tried every adress in this thread and none of them works. I tried installing nwncx but still did not work.

Nothing works: Direct Connect, any combination of portal numbers, History..............nothing.

I have been reduced to going through the beginner modules that I never tried...............oh, lord help me.

Both servers appeared in my History tab, yesterday I was unable to connect any of them.

Oh yeah, so I had an idea. Try release/renew your own IP addresses.

Steps:
1. Open the command prompt. This is generally done with Start Menu > Search > 'cmd'
2. Type 'ipconfig /release'
3. Type 'ipconfig /renew'
4. Cross fingers, when your internet is working again, try and connect to the server.

I doubt that will help seeing as how refreshing DNS only refreshes what hostnames resolve to. Also, I tried 9 VPN's in Europe and can't connect, so I think some people are just lucky.

Some people have CCNA's here too Nav

It's probably something on the host's end.

I just bought some awesome noodles from an asian foodstuff shop, I'm happy. The flavours.. oh gods the flavours... even if my mouth is burning they taste so good!

Aren't there any magicians in this community who can figure out why 6 people can log in and play just fine, and 60 others can't?

I had to open new ports through our firewall. Lucky me, I'm the IT department. If your company is small outgoing traffic is likely wide open, but change of ports may need to be echoed in your allowed outgoing ports.

Need my Amia fix. My teeth are starting to itch.

Well, Amia is basically -Dead- until we solve this.

How are you seeing that the port is changing?

Also, my router doesn't have any funky settings set and I tried it without Windows Firewall turned on and still couldn't connect.

Well guess that's one good thing coming out of all of this. It will save us the trouble of pestering them off the server ourselves.

Well I wont complain at all. Sure it be sad that Amia is down but in truth I got caught back up and spent much of me time with me lovely wife and daughter. So everything happens for a reason, just need to stay positive and keep on going. Personally I tend to cook when I get much free time and BBQ for the family. As for yer question Aiseth I be playing on NWN Diamond edition.

So no worries Disco your doing all you can and we love you for it. I'd offer you a beer but well yeh are not close to me so makes it hard.

If the server shows in in favorates, click on server details and it will show the IP of the server.

Ah, okay. Yeah I don't even get to see it in faves. *sobs*
