I have a strong feeling that it's somehow related to the fact that it's original IP address was restored. Thanks to Disco, no less.

The original IP never left. It was a routing issue where you connected though 185.29.203.11 but the answer came on 185.29.203.8, its why the ports came up as screwed because your router (or a router along the way) detected a conflict and altered the packet header to another port.

Having a spot of bother logging into my regular character, seems to be something only I'm having issues with though.

Well, I got a message from the hoster and they were looking into it.

Please tell me the staff is bright enough to have backed the server/vault up on something they actually possess. So tired of playing servers that go "Ooops, everybody has to start over because we did * some boneheaded idiot thing every server owner should know better than to do*."

Yay for Amia being back for us all!

Yeah, although it's not that easy as we got a database that's running all the time. I try to make a backup of that every month, but it involves stopping everything for about 30 mins. Given time and cash I'd like to have a second server just for backups, but in the end we're dealing with a hobby catering about 100-200 people here.
That said, the module and vault are being backed up once a week.

They do warn you about Amia's addictive properties.

I so badly needed a fix I revisited Arelith for all of about an hour or two. It helped me to remember why I LOVE Amia SO MUCH!!

So it turns out that while my temporary fix did solve the issues my permanent one killed it really bad, I assume it has something to do with the server setup that I wasnt completely aware of even-though I thought I nailed it!

I just checked and it appear that Disco or the network guys has added a permanent fix for the routing issues now though. So I suppose it wasnt all bad in the end.

Either way, sorry for the inconvenience I caused!

Hehe, I'd just assumed Disco moved the server to a different hosting company.

I thought it was the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. I had my family sitting around the monitor in gas masks waiting for the server to come back!

No, there was an extra line in the back of our server which caused interference with the server next to us. Those dudes changed something to their settings last week, which caused our screwiness. So we fixed that. Interestingly the hoster looked at our own previous settings and couldn't believe that we actually had been running all these months. Proper settings applied as well, and all were happy.

So are you sticking with this company Disco, or are you still going to look for another?

For the time being I stick with this one.

So odd...For some reason I can see Amia A and B on my server list (NWNCX), however, I cannot connect to any of them, it says that the server times out. Direct connect does not work either and both server seem to be greyed in my history and fav list. Am I that bad or did I miss something?

Similarly, Amia A and B don't seem to appear in the History or Favourites tabs half the time, no matter how often I refresh the page. Direct connect works fine, as does connecting via the browser when they're visible.

Might just be something on my end.

I have the same problems. So that makes us three. Also using nwnxc

I have nwnxc and am having no problems what so ever.

Direct connect doesn't work for me at all:( It times out on every attemp. However, I can connect to other servers just fine
