Alright guys I'm in a pickle. I wish for Arcane Archer build, with as best to decent AC / AB as possible. But I also want enough Wizard spells to make their own Arrows (Negative / Sonic / Fire / Acid / Cold / Electrical) If anyone has a Decent AC / AB build, that can do that! If a Cleric can make their own arrows via Spells like Wizards, then I'd like a Divine AA! Thaaaaanks and Shoot me it. Include Subrace (If need one.) and a fair build layout? (So I can read it.)

The AA arrows, when mythalstripped of the sexy Onhits, are cheap enough to refresh that you won't be permanently broke, and are better by some margin than the Imbue Arrow's 1d8. Unless it's been updated.
Bard is therefore the better choice cos of them lovely skills.

I've been attempting to device a build for assassin. Because I really want to test the class. I've tried Weapon focusing longbow or rapier. Restrictions include not being lawful alignment.
Bard 5 / Master Scout 5 / 19 Assassin (Is a race with ECL +1) 1 Bard 2 Bard 3 Bard 4 Bard 5 Bard
7 Assassin 8 MS 9 Assassin 10 MS 11 MS 12 Assassin 13 MS 14 MS
And rest are Assassin up 19 lvls of it.
Is it possible to have this build Epic Dodging and stand on 1v1 or any fights? On paper I can get the Epic dodge on lvl 28 when I take Assassin 18 lvl and get Bonus Feat which will go to Defensive Roll, (Improved Evasion picked on Assassin lvl 14.) And at the same level I get Feat, which I hope to use to pick up Epic Dodge. But I can't test this build because NWN don't ahev the MS class.
I as well considered following:
Bard 5 / AA 5 / 20 Assassin
1 Bard 2 Bard 3 Bard 4 Bard 5 Bard
6 AA 7 AA 8 AA 9 AA 10 AA
Rest are assassin.
And
5 Bard / 6 SD / 19 Assassin
1 Bard 2 Bard 3 Bard 4 Bard 5 Bard
6 SD 7 SD 8 SD 9 SD 10 SD 11 SD
Rest are Assassin.
But I've always played mainly caster classes and am so lost with these. >.<' The main goal is have heavy Assassin based build which could take 1v1 fights if needed. I as well considered ranger class as the first 5 lvls, which would not work for the AA obviously.
EDIT: After reading the topic, it seems like Assassin as a class is not worth it. :/ Bleh, back to the drawing board.

Assassins are alright, although I wouldn't recommend a bard/assassin - they just don't synergise. Fighter/rogue/assassin is probably best if you can cornersneak, though I like ranger/sd/assassin because I'm a noob.

You missed out -charming and beautiful.
I played almost the same thing with Kuzz, only he stayed pure Barb. Yeah, it's squishy in PvMob but burly in PvBoss and a decent amount of fun.

Does anyone know a Good Monk - Dev Crit Quaterstaff build? Even if not Dev Crit. Anything that has Quaterstaff and Mostly Monk Levels.

Allo all-
I'm considering possibly rebuilding Alanna into either a cleric or divine champion (of Selune), but I'd like to keep her dex-based and as much sneak attack as possible. She's currently a fighter/ranger/rogue dual-wielder with EWS in dagger. I'm terrible at this stuff so I appreciate the help, heh.

Hey there everyone. Please don't blast me down. But I have never made a Paladin before. And I would really like to give it a try. For RP reason and just for something different to play from my normal fighter builds. I would also like the race to be Aasimar if I can. I am looking for a build which can solo epic boss and mobs. (not because im a loner or anything) But just I find offen I am on when only 5-6 people are awake So it would be handly. Atm my builds can't do anything without a full group. I was thinking maybe 15 Paladin / 10 Divine Champion / 5 Knight Commander. Or 19 Paladin / 10 DC / 1 Rogue. If there is anyway to have Knight commander class that would be great. I think its a cool looking RP class and fun to play. If anyone has any tips or builds. Please do send me a message. Thank you all so much.

I have a monk qstaff build, only halfway through leveling it though. The lack of AC is painful, but bearable. You can alter it to less WM and more Monk/Fighter, too. 17 Monk/6 Fighter/7 WM is good, too. Or you could go a couple more Fighter for more feats, too. I wouldn't go less than 15 with that, though, cause you still get +3 AC and +50% move speed at 15 Monk. Squeezing in Improved Disarm would be nice, because of the fact that qstaffs are large weapons. Go Monk8/Fighter2/WM10 pre-epic to nab max BAB, Tumble30 is enough for the AC bonus. Otherwise it's solid.

Leaves plenty of room for extras. I would call it "too much room". Fighter/Divine Champion doesn't really have a lot of synergy because they both pretty much do the same things in varying degrees. They are also the most boring standard class and prestige class, respectively. Divine Champion at least has some fluff about being really dedicated to a given deity. Selune doesn't do Paladins, does she? If she did I would heartily endorse a dex paladin, as I'm having a lot of fun with mine. I have always wanted to try Rogue/Divine Champion/Shadowdancer - can you swing that, Alanna? Going SD might be a bit of a jump for your PC (pun not intended) - what about Master Scout? The problem with both of those is that since you have that Sympathetic magic thing, it can be harder to justify unless it's sufficiently divine, whereas SD is strictly shadowy and MS is a techy sort of class. If you wanted a cleric, which has divine up the wazoo, dex can be done (though it's not terribly good, in early levels at least). Let me see if I can find it. Edit: Found it. Yeah I don't think you can make it work - you need a dex of 20-22, a wis of 20, and it might help to try for a decent cha. But it's very difficult to net all of these on a race without a dex bonus.

That's not too much room; Luck of Heroes, Lightning Reflexes and Great Fortitude are all valid pre-epic feats. I'd even consider Stealthy as +4 skill points is definitely not a waste of space on anyone. For epic, ESF Spot and Hide are a great asset, really a necessity if you want to be better than everybody else at what you do. It may be boring, but boy is it sturdy.

That's almost exactly what I built for someone else a while back.
It's competent if unspectacular compared to other Epic Dodgers, but it doesn't railroad your RP with alignment requirements. The main attraction is the saves; gearsetting for the endgame is trivially simple and even in a pure skills outfit you still have a sporting chance at passing Devcrit and killer spells.

Right so;
Your average +0 ECL spellsword is 25/4/1 or 24/4/2, is it viable doing the same with a Druid?

Depends what you mean by viable. It'll get to thirty without much drama and be able to hit bosses, so that's viable, but it's not as good at melee as a dragon shape build and neither is the pet and the dragon remains a better caster too.

Anyone have ideas about a decent Paladin/Dwarven Defender build? Not looking for anything super uber just to hold its own in PvE.

Pally23/DwD5/Rogue2 will be a solid allrounder, but vulnerable-ish to Dispel spam. STR-base, or a STR/CHA Divine Might/Shield build, it depends how much you can tolerate the micro.
Pally24/DwD5/MR1 doesn't get dispelled, but MR means Monk or Rogue, so you have to choose between UMD and Evasion.
Pally15/DwD14/MR1 CON base and Epic Damage Reduction III will be vurry amusing PvE.
Shield Dwarf: STR 13 -> 14 DEX 13 CON 16 ->22 (have to take these first so you have CON21 in time for EDR) WIS 14 INT 10 CHA 10
21 Epic Reduct 24 " 27 " 30 Armourskin DwD14 Epic Weapon Focus
AB: 25 base, +8 STRmod 33, +5GMW 38, BAP 41, WF+EWF 44, Divine Favour 47.
The dull answer is the 23/5/2 at the top, but serious DR builds are so relaxing to play in PvM.

But the 10 DC instead of 10 Ranger will give you some neat bonuses. +5 Universal saves, 5 spare feats (Less, if you're trying to retake the free Ranger dual-wielding feats). In those feats, you can take the other feats you would have, and come out with even greater saves by taking Great Fort, Iron Will on the general feats, and things like Improved Critical and Blindfight on the bonus feats. >_> She'll be a monster. A good rogue, well-geared is entirely underrated. I have yet to see or conceive a compelling low-level cleric build that has heavy Rogue. I have always, always suggested cleric players to stick to 21+ cleric levels. Any lower really does the class an injustice, mechanics wise. The difference even between an 18th level Cleric and a 23rd is astronomical. Pre-ten Clerics even worse.

I dunno, Divine Power is such a good fix for the AB problem of the 3/4 classes. I had that Bard20/Cleric10 who was a brute with all the lights and music running - same kinda numbers as the stock melee Cleric 25/4/1 but you trade epic summon and spells for better party buffing.
Rogue has less synergy in stats than Monk or Bard, but it does have the advantage that the Really Good Bit is at level 13, not 20.
Fitting the DEX for Epic Dodge limits your WIS and without crazy minmaxed Aasimar like Op did Divine Might/Shield is out, so you might end up heavy Rogue anyway.
It's a bossrunning trick, the 10 Clerics. Extended Divine Power, Battletide and Divine Favour last long enough to take them out. If that isn't a thing for you, I'd go with the bombproof Divine Champion buffless meleer.

But was wondering if it would be feasble. Maybe a monk level instead of rogue for the hell of having all the lawful classes in one package.

If you had to choose between:
24 caster levels and weapon specialization...
VS
23 caster levels and epic weapon specialization....
Which would you choose?
This is on a cleric/ftr/rog build either 24/4/2 or 23/5/2
I have it figured out that without epic spec, the difference would be 3 points of damage because of swapping around some feats, rather than the usual 4 damage.
Please explain why too if you answer! Thanks so much!

Am looking at creating a barbarian scout/ infiltrator type character. Thinking 16 barbarian with 14 rogue for sneak attack damage and terrifying rage or go with 16 barbarian/ 9 rogue / 5 master scout or 16 barbarian/ 9 ranger and 5 master scout. First build would be dex based last 2 builds could be strength based. Dex based would likely use 2 hand axes while strength would probably be 2 handed sword. Does this build type have any potential or is it too diluted to be of any use? Any opinions?

For the DEX build, I'd go 16 Barb/13 Rogue/1 Ranger (or Fighter). Take the Ranger (or Fighter) level in epic for an extra epic feat, but mind that not every epic feat is available as a bonus feat.
And as for the STR one, I'd go somewhere along the lines of 17 Barb/8 Fighter/5 MS. Or maybe more Barb, less Fighter - 21 Barb/4 Fighter/5 MS? I haven't put much thought into that. I like feats and EWS (which is achievable with both).

For strength based: If the sneak attacks aren't a must, you could go barbarian(21)/MasterScout(5)/Fighter(4), this way you can get dev, weapon specialization and quite a bit of skill points, if you don't go 2 handed you can also get a decent ac. I haven't tried out this build but it worked with ranger, and the feat progression should be the same as far as I know, also the amount of skill points are the same if I remember right? With the changes to armor max ac's this build may work really well if you go a hybrid of strength/dex, so you can get +9 ac with leather armor and not having to suffer from heavy skill penalties, and still not losing anything in combat. If this build sounds appealing I can post a suggestion to class progression and attribute points?

For a str character with 21 ranger lvls, atleast 4 fighter lvls, bane of enemies, dev crit and ews, should I go one handed or two handed weapon? I've checked the 2 handed damage and it will be 28+8d6 with max str and a +4 greatsword with 2d6 elemental damage (isn't that what they get?)

Just for futures sake and clarification: the recent dispel changes made it so that you are NEVER immune, right?

The recent Dispel changes were reverted back to the old way about 5 weeks ago, pending changes because of balance issues. Nothing has been said if or when the changes would be reinstated. As of right now, 24 caster is immune to dispelling up to Greater Dispelling.

So I am going 21 (atleast) ranger + something, and I am wondering if 2 handed would be worth it? if I go 2 handed I may get less int for more con, but won't have enough skill points for hide/ms but will be (or feel) more efficient in PvE. If I go one handed it'll be a dev critting ranger with 30-ish base hide/ms.

Dualwielding is better by default, owing to the free feats, a handy pair of gloves that enables you dualwielding whilst heavily armoured, and mostly because you can switch between shield and off-hand weapon as a free action.

I meant 2 handed weapons, not dual wielding as in great weapons wielded with 2 hands.

For me, AC shouldn't be invested in a character who wields a two-handed weapon, or dual-wield (with the exceptions being monks, casters, and sneaky classes). If your character can't get 47-50 AC when maxed (without epic gear), I wouldn't bother with AC and rely on other means for defense. A Barbarian may be an exception, but I personally wouldn't make a barb without completely ignoring AC as a means for defense. High CON, HP, and elemental shield potions with stoneskin potions and improved invisibility wands or something would be the way I would go for a barbarian. Wielding a two-handed weapon to me basically means you are putting all the eggs in that basket.

It's not that the build will have a poor ac, and can easily get 50-ish ac without the top tier gear, thing is that the damage will get freakish with a greatsword compared to going longsword. So going 2 handed means: More hp (because different build and base stats), more damage, less ac (unless I go monkey grip), less skills, 2 more ranger lvls Going one handed means: less hp, higher ac, lower damage, more versatility skill wise, some more ab in certain situations As a side note: I've never managed to build a fighter/ranger build that beats a tank barbarian, so with a decent ac for the barbarian (60 w/haste and magic armor) it's a rather nasty combination, with the different rages and everything.

I meant dualwielding, because you're selecting between dualwielding (one-handed) and two-handing (great weapons wielded with two hands). You get the free feats, can switch between off-hand and shield, etc. I think I've learnt this lesson by rote. And why would your build's stats and whatnot be different depending on the weapon you use? It makes no sense to me.

And why would your build's stats and whatnot be different depending on the weapon you use? It makes no sense to me. Because I will build differently depending on my choice. When it comes to the drawbacks of going 2 handed and that build, I haven't decided if it's worth it yet so that's what I am trying to figure out. Of course, I could use 2 handed on the same build as I am going with one handed, but that will leave me with less hp on a character with not much ac without a shield, however I will keep the versatility (but the ac). We are speaking about a lot of hp in difference though, in the 100-ish range. I can get monkey grip at some point in which the hp build will be more decent, but if I use it on the versatile utility-ish build it will become an annoyance if I try to stealth. Most likely this will be the builds: 1 handed: Ranger 21/Master Scout 5/Fighter 4 2 handed: Ranger 23/Fighter 6/Rogue 1

If you are planning to go for monkey grip, go for the two-hander.

Rangers get a free feat every third and five levels in epic. The favoured enemy feat upgrades every five levels. The animal companion also gets an extra feat every three and five levels on amia. Just FYI, my dear!

help with utility based wizard/minion pm build just looking to buff ww/controlled undead with extended low level buffs and make use of necromancy that scales with pm as wiz/pm caster build
will this be good?
19 pm/10 wiz/1 bard(skills dumps) 8 str/12 dex/16 con/18 int/8 wis/8 char
10 feats pre epic: toughness, dodge?,blind fight?, spell focus/greater:necro,spell/greater spell pene, extend, empower, maximize
7 epic: epic mage armor, epic spell foc: necro, epic spell pene, great intx3,greater ruin/armor skin?
would blind fight be worth taking for a pm with high dc touches?

Hey guys.I am back to amia and I was looking forward to starting a new build to play with.I was told I can post a general idea here and I will receive help in how to create the desired build. So feel free to help if u want The general idea of my build is a powerful shifter that has dragon shape, goloms and Manny other forms such as mind flayer raksasha and more....the more shifts the merier(even if they are sometimes useless pvm or PvP wise but are fun to play with). Basicly I really want this shifter to be a badass shifter(I dare say even overpowered power build) meaning that when I shift to dragons etc I will be able to solo.places like abyss and such.but more importantly over come people in PvP as much as possible. I know this sounds a bit arrogant but this is something I always wanted to have in the game speciely when seeing other players shift I really like it and will enjoy so much rp'ing with him.please try and help if u can.all help will be appreciated. Thanks again !and see you in game.

If you want dragon shape you need to either sacrifice two epic forms or one(if you use the subraces). Or build champion of torm into the mix.
5druid/19shifter/6monk - unarmed attack progression. 5druid/19shifter/6cot - all feats(maybe), a little bit better saves and ab. 5druid/19shifter/6 shadow dancer - because a hipsing dragon is fun
