Since the Skeleton familiar doesn't use a shield, wouldn't it make sense that it wields a two handed weapon? (And to compensate its poor BAB progression). Would love it!

It has powerful immunities and to my knowledge there is no familiar with a warrior BAB progression so I doubt the skeletons progression is poor compared to other available familiars. Seeing a lot of people prefer to use it in the lower level range I feel it's quite powerful enough without the damage upgrade a two handed weapon would provide.

It does have nice immunities, thats for sure. Comes with a huge RP restriction though, because you don't want to run around your Skeleton on a leash when you're lvl 5 and goodly-doers all about :D (Not sure about the Quasit / Imp.. but they had 2 attacks per round early lvl..)

It was just an idea I thought I'd throw in, but it's all good - Joe and I we get along now.. even tho he doesn't want to use a two handed blade :p

I have a question about the spell: Shades (Wizard / Sorcerer 6): "The caster conjures a shadow cariant of one of the following spells: Cone of Cold, Fireball, Stoneskin, Wall of Fire, Summon Shadow"

I was curious, if there was any way to summon the shadow as an extended spell. It seems I cannot select it either from the spellbook nor from the metamagic spell radiance menu.. Since it only lasts 2 rounds / lvl an extended version would be helpful.

Nope, not possible afraid. It does get very potent at higher levels though to make up for this!

Is there a list of VFX added in the HAK update before the recent one? There was a few I wanted to look at in-game but never knew how to find out their tags.

This was discussed at length some time back, but... I wanted to clarify something.

If a character is greater than 10 levels of palemaster.... they ARE able to be found out, is this accurate? I mean, they are pretty dedicated to the art at that point and I would imagine no amount of cologne is going to cover up the smell and their arm or other implants would look odd, wouldn't they?

I'm not meaning to call anyone out, but... I just want to know the correct way to play this. Sure, I don't know every pc's levels when I meet them, but... it's more for the PM's out there to not metagame. If you're gonna be like 16 levels of PM, be a palemaster, don't try so hard to act like you're not.

If I'm all wrong... please, tell me!

That sounds reasonable to me. Being one thing, and pretending to be another by hiding behind text on a screen seems unfair.

There should Definately be signs of dedication to the Art.

As far as levels are concerned there isn't a "Counter" so to speak that would help PC's in "Telltale" signs that would enable the typical adventurer or inquisitor to discern. So levels past level 10 is a bit of a grey area because there simply isnt that lore or perhaps a debate that hasnt done so, Its down to the player of the Master of the Pale's discretion to give out "Clues."

An example pre-level 10 which "Bone Skin" as a feat features as a change in a PC that would give noticeable change for those who do dabble in palemaster to compare to those whom don't.

Some Masters of the Pale may graft flesh, or perform a ritual to have "Pale" skin, So there may be "Off" coloured flesh or whatnot. Simple answer in reasoning? The Palemaster conceals what he/she can if applicable by wearing loose, long robes.

But as far as signs beyond level 10 hasnt really been explored. It is something that would be good to consider about and myself as a player will take this comment in mind will think up "Progression" roleplay wise to add to the Palemaster lore simply as guidance. (Deads also gonna read this so he'll have a chat about it too :P)

Having a blonde moment here, can't seem to enter the game to my "home destination" on Abbey which is the Salandran Temple, and I am having to enter Bendir or Cordor and then travel as normal or portal to the Temple.

Am I missing something obvious here or is this an oversight?

No, the home statue is a little wonky at the moment.
It works for some players, and it ignores others completely.

From my testing of it, it only works if you have a faction bind. It's like a trigger that allows you to set it to whatever you like. I'm sure that's not what was intended (and I'm unsure how that could be done intentionally!), but it's either that or completely random, indeed.

So, from what I read, its not working as intended... Bug Report time.

Everyone I've spoken to who can use the statue as it's intended (with custom binds that work - Wharftown, Kohlingen City Hall, Howness) have a faction bind. It's gotta be tied to that somehow, because it works fine for my Rook (who has a faction bind), but not for any other of my PCs (who don't have faction binds).

And it's not mutually exclusive. Everyone I've personally heard report that it works like it's supposed to has a faction bind, but not everyone with a faction bind can do it. But it's something to go off of, at least!

My suggestion... Try getting a fresh faction bind (if you can, even temporary to test it), and then use the statue to go to your faction home. Then set a custom bind and use the statue again and see if it works.

What kind of AC does the AC Ioun Stone apply, and would it still apply if my current AC is maxed out by gear?

Dodge and no, if you're already at +20 Dodge AC.

The wiki makes it fairly vague, or my own lack of insight makes it vague, but if the only Dodge AC I have is from boots (+5) and Dex (+1) wouldn't that mean the Ioun stone should still work? As far as I'm aware, only boots grants Dodge AC.

I've set up a testing module where I've created an 'ideal gear set' for my WM, Elwyn, where it wont apply the AC when she's fully geared.

Yes, it will give you +2 AC.

Keep in mind the default Ioun Stone gives +2 Deflect AC, it's changed to Dodge here.

You're able to have up to +20 dodge. But since our gear here is limited to +5 AC, you can only get +5 AC from boots. You get dodge AC from divine shield, haste, etc.

Mage Armor and its epic older brother also gives you some dodge AC.

Could some wing-expert please help me out with something? I'm trying to figure out which cloak-models that don't override wings. It's pretty hard to check since when I cycle through the looks, my wings get hidden if she encounters a model that covers them up and I need to relog to get them back.

I only know one model so far, it's the one Nessira often uses with a short cloak.

Any tips are appreciated!

Oh! One way to remedy that wing-problem is changing your ACP, you wont have to re-log that way :D (Figured that out with Jareth by Accident)

If I were to reskin my Pharaoh Sentinel (EMD: Undead), will the reskinned creature be carrying the Dire Mace as well, or will it hide?

Might depend on the skin, but I'm pretty sure it just hides it. If you reskinned it to something like a Ghoul, wouldn't show.

Some monsters can carry weapons/shields, some can't. However, if the skin you want can and you don't want it to, resize it and it'll null the weapon.

I recall it was stated somewhere that there is a config change you can make on your PC so that when you get into Multiplayer it doesn't do the thirty second lag before loading the server list. I can't for the life of me remember where I read that. Anyone know the fix?

Thanks! I have NWNCX, too, which is weird.

Another thing: https://i.imgur.com/zkxyaTK.png
Installed NWN on a new-to-me laptop (only a couple of years old) that is pretty snazzy (Dell M6600 if anyone is curious). That's what I get when I log in. I'm also seeing some weird lag where NWN itself will freeze for 5-15 seconds. Any ideas on what could be causing either?

I ported all the haks and ini files over from my home PC, so it should be running totally up to spec and be configured right.

edit: Irritatingly, I still seem to get the lag when going into multiplayer. I'm doing this on my usual home PC now.

edit2: Got it. I had to also add 0.0.0.0 peerchat.gamespy.com to my hosts file and that fixed it.

Do the bonuses from the Barricade of Swords aura stack with, say, the immunity bonuses from Risen Lord (ie BoS provides 5% slashing immunity and Risen Lord gets 50% slashing immunity, do they combine and/or stack)?

Is the "Lore" skill ever actually required for anything except the identifying of items? Or in other worlds does it have any RP use in terms of knowledge about "stuff" academia etc and/or be a prerequisite for DC requests where worldly knowledge would be required?

Context for this question is I started putting skill points into lore as a Cleric figuring it might be representative of his education, academic knowledge and so on but then realised I would likely need those points for possible skill dumps later so wondering if they have any practical use beyond id items (which it seems it doesnt do very well anyway)

Unless you're a bard. No. Though if you're cheap and can't cast Identify, then I think 16 is the value you need (assuming std 10 int?) to ID anything on the server.

It's good at lower levels, because you save thousands of gold on identifying items. Otherwise it's mostly used in RP events or in some of the newer dungeons.

I am a little bit biased since my main has Lore and had Epic Skill Focus in lore until her untimely delevel.

Is it mechanically possible and allowable by DM standards (given a good request of course) to make a targeted spell that works like the flight feat (or widget, I dunno what it is)? What I mean is like a spell in which you click it, then click the ground, and there is a cast time, then you fly to your target.

Yep, this. (Sadly, IMO)
We even reevaluated our stance on this recently, discussing it again to see if the answer would remain no. It does.

Is there a list of VFX added in the HAK update before the recent one? There was a few I wanted to look at in-game but never knew how to find out their tags.

With regards to Kamina's unofficial amia module (http://www.amiaworld.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=75428) aimed at testing builds it apparently needs amia_v3c_top.hak to run and we are on v3d atm, is there somewhere I can get amia_v3c_top.hak to put into a copy of my client so i can work on builds and rebuilds using the custom amia stuff?

Didn't look like it was still hosted on the server, so uploaded a copy of that I had http://www.mediafire.com/download/65m2h ... le+Hak.zip
Edit: Updated the link to the full hak pack for that.
