I can't speak for their reflex or willpower saves, but I know Elwyn lands a Dev Crit once in a blue moon against the FGK, Snowy and Windreaper.
Generally speaking, casters who rely on their enemies saves aren't going to have a good time with bosses.

Bosses generally tend to have their saves skyrocketting somewhere up in the 60+ range, so you're 1 fishing at best, and that's assuming the boss hasn't been given immunity to whatever you're casting.

If I use a greater mythal to craft elemental damage on gloves, would it be 1d6, or 2d6 elemental damage?

I believe it was 2d4 for two handed weapons actually, but epic drops go up to 2d6. Incidentally, epic 1 handers go up to 1d10

How is the extra damage applied on self crafted weapons? A bow lists as its damage type piercing yet i can craft one that gives 'extra' damage slashing... how does this work or what does it mean?

Lorewise, it's good. It will be hard for an evil drow to get arrows though, since they're handed out by PC's.

I've always been curious to know how it works, given that the attack rolls and all the AB are the same whether its a mundane bow or a crafted one with extra slashing damage. Further on from this you can craft a bow with extra piercing damage... which seems odd given that the bows base attack type is piercing!

The "Extra Melee Damage" and "extra Ranged Damage" properties add that damage quality to the base weapon - i.e a longbow with Extra Ranged Damage: Bludgeoning will do both piercing and bludgeoning damage, but does not actually gian any extra dice of damage.

That's what I thought, but what happens when you try to mythal extra piercing damage on a bow? Does it not work, or does it work while whatever DM is online looks on and giggles at your stupidity?
Also, that's not true? I could've sworn most of them were immune to most offensive spells below the 8th tier.

Would it be possible to get that extra damage on a very good crafted ranged weapon changed then? As it stands it crafts piercing on to piercing, nothing crafted gives bludgeoning. I know the system is for flavour but that change would give a better motivation to make the things to ICly sell or give away!

Master Scout Crafting.Recently I was told Master Scout Crafting was awesome. Now, I have a couple of questions, the first being kind of obvious. What can you craft? (I'd love an exact list, with items and effects, since it usually is too much to say IG) And now, please, please, PLEASE don't say "find out IG". I would like to remind people of this post, reminding everyone that noone seems to have an exact reason a mundane character can craft magical items... So if there is no official "how", why isn't there at least an official "what"? So, next question, the trap modifications. Can a non-Master Scout use them? Third question, only related tangentially, I was told there are retrieveable epic traps in an epic dungeon. I know the ones in Electric Castle are not retrieveable (which seems pretty crazy to me, as it raises difficulty level to "noone ever does this place all the way to the boss"), so I stopped trusting epic traps. Are there any retrievable or are the best traps possible deadly traps? No need to tell me where, just if there are any.

I believe Master Scout crafted items are mundane components mixed together that create magical effects. Similar to how a herbalist can create Heal Potions without even being at a level to cast Heal.
As for the what, weapon essences and some ability potions. They're all worth grabbing if you find yourself a MS.

Weapons essences Potions for str, dex and con (above what you normally buy) Bombs Trap parts
Only really use one of the bombs and I don't trap so haven't really crafted them, but there are a few.

So... What damage, damage types and durations are the weapon essences? What CL/duration are the potions? 15? What do the bombs do, and what DC do they have do it? What trap parts are there, what do they do, whar DC, how do they work? Are an item that you use on the traps? And do they work on all levels of traps?

As I was asked!
If I craft a weapon which has an 'Extra' damage type added to it by the crafting system, does this count against the powers that item is allowed when I then mythal craft it?
Secondly, is there anything I shouldn't mythal off an item or rather I'm ot allowed to? Like unlimited ammo on bows or say the racial or alignment limitation on items? I've looked and can't find an answer to this.

Yes, it's 1 power because it's a beneficial property on the item and not explicitly listed as more expensive (or free) on the MCS page. walnutboy wrote: Secondly, is there anything I shouldn't mythal off an item or rather I'm ot allowed to? It's a restriction, so it naturally counts as a disadvantageous property. Only beneficial properties can be removed. I would guess that by now anything removable has been removed at least once and no one has been struck by lightning yet. ;) Just remove whatever you want and can. Regards Ts

Any good (possibly online) source of information about magic in FR? So that I could RP wizard in reasonable manner. Explanation - in my country we dont really have DnD and our NWN worlds run usually with complete own ruleset that is just partially based on FR (because of game mechanics), so I completely lost in this.

1. Is there a cap on skill bonuses from items?
2. Was there any fairly recent change to the Shadowancer class or any SD summons?
3. Also, are there any pics of the UMD summons a player can choose from somewhere?

2. Was there any fairly recent change to the Shadowancer class or any SD summons?
3. Also, are there any pics of the UMD summons a player can choose from somewhere? 1. 50 is the cap from items and effects. 2. SD and its pathetic summons are unchanged. 3. UMD summons? You mean EMD summons? Geared GuardianAncient Air ElementalSirrushForgot what the undead EMD looked like. Edgy black/red outfit with a bone helmet and a double-bladed weapon. Githzerai has a head like this but male. Wears yellow/tan clothes. Arcadian Avenger looks human female celestial with wings and plate armor.

Explanation - in my country we dont really have DnD and our NWN worlds run usually with complete own ruleset that is just partially based on FR (because of game mechanics), so I completely lost in this. If we're diving back into 2e, I would also recommend Volo's Guide To All Things Magical, which is written in character and has a wealth of cool info and flavor and fluff aobut magic, magic items and the like.

Reccomend buying the book on DrivetruRPG here if you found it useful because it's a great site and supporting the publishers of this stuff is always a good thing and makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
