Bladesingers, If i recall, are specilized spell-blades of the elves, they have a unique fighting style as well I believe. if that doesn't help you here are 2 sites that might.
heregrey company's Bladesinger page, I am not sure how much cannon it is exactly but it is useful.
bladesinger- Elves of Fearun's page on Blade singers, it is a prestige class but it does give good info on them.
Can someone point me to some info (preferrably on line as I have none of the books) on Nightwalkers, I think they're called? Some sort of servants of Shar.
Or maybe it's Nightstalker. Not the big giant-ish thingy from the shadow plane, but a race or group of people.

The Nightbringers, or the Avatars of Shar, are an elite Sharran force. They are spirits that infest hosting bodies, possessing them and using the bodies as puppets. Once one is infected with a Nightbringer that person fuses to being as one with the Nightbringer gaining the strength and beauty of Shar. Only females are selected as hosts for the Nightbringers. Though Nightbringer numbers were large within the Avatar Wars, their numbers fell to the hundreds in the modern day.
I think so. Is there a particular race that is the preferred host?

Bladesingers aren't designed as a bard class. In fact, few of their PnP skills augment bards in any real way. Typically, they're fighter/wizards. Thematically, however, I like to think bards are a fine way to play them. Bladesingers don't necessarily sing, despite the name. It's their swords that supposedly make an eerie sound when they utilize the bladesong style, which is primarily a defensive technique. The Bladesinger PrC is much like an arcane modification to the Duellist class. In older material, it was fine to use any one-handed weapon without a shield for the style, but the 3e PrC requires the use of either a longsword or a rapier. Personally, I use a buckler since there's no way to gain the AC benefits of the one-weapon Bladesong style in NWN and it's too much of a hinderance.
There's no real bladesinger lore, other than what little bits there are in Elves of Evermeet and some novels. I've had to make a lot up myself, when I play Kalliniel. (He's my bladesinger PC.) This is what The Complete Book of Elves has to say:
Quote:
Bladesong is so named for several reasons. The first and most obvious is because of the whistling of the blade as it slices through the air when this style of fighting is used. The second is for the haunting, wordless tune many of its practitioners sing as they fight.
Those who practice the bladesong appear as if they are dancing when they fight. Their movements seem misleadingly slow and elegant, deflecting opponents' blades while lazily drifting back to score hits themselves. The technique requires, above all, misdirection and subtlety. The bladesingers do not believe in smashing blows or strong and crushing offense, but rather in guiding their opponents to anticipate a different attack entirely, thus overbalancing the foe and making him seem clumsy.
Bladesinging can be done with any Small or Medium-sized melee weapon, although the majority of practitioners practice their art with the sword. Due to the awkwardness of polearms and two-handed weapons, there are no known students of bladesinging proficient in these weapons.
Quote:
While some characters may stay at home to defend the elven way, Bladesingers go out and actively promote it. They do this by seeking out their race's foes and eliminating them, either through words or actions. Acting as both diplomats and one-elf armies, they insure the safety of the elf race
Quote:
The Bladesinger is always identifiable by his weapon of choice. Such an item is always ornate and beautiful, enhancing the Bladesinger's appearance in battle
Quote:
Not only are they easily identifiable by their weapon of choice and catlike grace, Bladesingers are decorated with their weapon guilds distinctive tattoo. Each guild has a separate and unique tattoo depicting its style of weapon through an animal representation. Long swords are often represented by great cats such as lions or panthers, a whip would be shown as a striking snake, and so forth.
It's also said elves never teach this to any non-elf, not even half-elves or drow. Learning the rudiments is supposed to take years, mastering the art, decades if not centuries. Bladesingers must always seek to advantage elfdom's cause and never may they leave an elf in trouble. They're focused on one weapon and may not learn another. This is all according to non-FR, 2e Complete Book of Elves.
Here's a Bladesinger NPC from Elves of Evermeet:
Quote:
Shanyrria is a member of the exclusive group of fighter/mages known as the Bladesingers. An active defender of the elven nation and its people, she spends only short periods on Evermeet, periodically returning to the mainland to help the various scattered elves who still remain there. She is often found in Evereska as well, or off on a mission against the followers of Cyric or the agents of Zhentil Keep. Shanyrria is an unusual-looking Silver elf, with reddish hair and golden-brown eyes. Some claim she has some human ancestry, but Shanyrria denies it. She wears especially wild and exotic warpaint and a long tail of feathers and stone beads in her hair. She is vivacious and outgoing, and enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and swimming in the lakes and rivers of the island. Shanyrria spends much of her time alone in the woods. She is good friends with a tribe of centaurs.
Quote:
An elite group of elven fighter/mages, the bladesingers are dedicated to the defense of the elven nation, and many of them journey back to Faerûn to help defend those elves who stayed behind or have yet to join the Retreat. Details on this kit can be found in The Complete Book of Elves. Bladesingers are terrifying weapons experts and spellcasters. On Evermeet they are organized into small warrior lodges, each specializing in a different weapon. They are even more dedicated to the ancient ways and styles of dress than other Silver elves. They often tattoo themselves with old runes and symbols and their armor and weapons are all of great antiquity and beautiful craftsmanship.
I like to think of Bladesingers as the epitome of elven culture in all its aspects. At least, that's how I play Kalliniel. He is part weapon master, part wizard, part artist, part woodsman. Much like a weapon master, he is focused on his chosen weapon and seeks to master it perfectly, making it part of who he is. Not only does he practice swordplay, he also meditates to take his understanding of the sword to a higher level. Combat to him his dance, music, and his meditation is listening to his inner music (or some mumbo-jumbo like that; I'm not as spiritual as he is!).
While I use bard levels and do RP his bard song, I don't treat his magic as bardic spells. Rather, I like to think he's a mediocre wizard, having to study his spells like wizards (or bards of 2e). He may cast them musically, in an unusual way, but they're not completely spontaneous for him; at least, learning them is not.
He's a scholar, as well as quite religious. He reveres all the Seldarine, though his current patron is probably Labelas Enoreth. He studies history, hunts for elven artifacts (and wears some), and preserves legends in song. That way, his scholarly interests relate both to his bardic talents and his interest in magic.
On top of this all, he used to be a ranger. Bladesingers and moon elves are said to admire and sometimes imitate the primitive wild elves, and so he tries to tend to his immediate connection to nature. He has undergone a ritual to discover and connect with his totem animal, the owl, and spends time in the woods. Kalliniel, much like moon elves in general, balances between two worlds: the high culture typical to sun elves and the one-with-the-land nature of wild elves. That's not the only way to play a bladesinger, but that's how I envision the calling manifesting in my character. I've thought of several tests and phases in his training, representing different characteristics of elven culture. I think that's your best bet and greatest enjoyment if you want to play a bladesinger: come up with your own details and symbolism, because there's very little said in canon lore. I'd be happy to do some mentor RP with anyone wanting to play one, though I'm not very available nowadays.

Be a woman And people say women arent in as equal positiosion as men.. *mutters*
And btw thanks IronAngel, been thinking of making a bladesinger if that is possible and I hope I dont need to be silver elf to be a bladesinger cause.. I made sun elf who is half way trough the training.. *cough* Can still change that.. if.. needed *sniff*
And I actually think there might be a way to gain AC without having a shield, thought I need to think this.. Say.. would it be possible to get a longsword, trough DC's, with +5 ac on it and nothing else. It would basically be the shield while being a sword as well?
I would be interested if someone could direct me to some lore on Elven ceremonies. More specifically if there is any info out there on celebrations linked with Hanali Celanil or similar.

Here's a quick question. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to it but I'll ask anyway. Do priest's of Bhaal get any spells? I ask this because I read that even though he's dead, if enough people start to worship him again, he can come back. So does that mean that he can some how still grant divine spells?
Most Genasi don't have a true culture of their own and tend to blend into the culture of the people they are around. Earth Genais get along famously with Dwarves, for example.

I would be interested if someone could direct me to some lore on Elven ceremonies. More specifically if there is any info out there on celebrations linked with Hanali Celanil or similar.
Hanali's clerics are flighty and somewhat vain, given to dancing and wild celebrations. The hierarchy is loosely organized, and clerics are free to join or leave a temple's ranks as they wish. They preside over marriage and rites of passage ceremonies for young elves, although they are not required to marry, for Hanali's concern is love, not necessarily marriage. Members of Hanali's clergy spend their days cultivating beauty and love in all their myriad forms. Many of Lady Goldheart's clerics tend fine gardens, while others amass personal or temple-based collections of gems, crystal sculptures, and other fine works of art. While things of gold and crystal, ¦particularly jewelry and statues, are favored, beautiful art in any form is admired, collected, and displayed. Hanali's clerics must always be finely dressed, and displaying one's personal beauty to its best advantage is a requirement of every cleric of the Heart of Gold. Clerics of Hanali pray for their spells each day whenever the moon is highest in the sky and romance is in the air. While Hanali's clerics are given to frequent impromptu revels, their greatest celebrations are held every month beneath the bright light of the full moon. Such holy days are known as, Secrets of the Heart, for romantically involved participants are said to experience the full bloom of their affections on such nights, allowing them to evaluate the strength of their feelings. Likewise, the inner beauty of celebrants visibly manifests as a rosy glow in their cheeks and eyes for days thereafter. Offerings of objects of great beauty are made to Lady Goldheart during such holy festivals, some of which are swept into Arvandor while others are returned to be shared among Hanali's followers. It is not uncommon for artists to unveil their latest work at such holy days, nor is it rare for young lovers to either pledge their troth secretly or proclaim it to all assembled, for doing so is said to invite Hanali's favor.
Hanali's clerics dress in gold robes and worship her by fountains and springs. Her holy days are on the full moon, and beautiful objects are sacrificed to her monthly.
Also here is link too about Hanali Cenalil and other gods much information I think, just go trough the link and there is Hanali somewhere
But here is some info, which I took from the link above.

The constant clash of deities also ensures a steady supply of dead deities whose temples now lie in ruin about Toril. Moreover, death doesn't necessarily end the career of a deity of Toril. The possibility of resurrection always exists, as evidenced by the recent return of Bane. Small cults dedicated to the resurrection of one lost deity or another appear everywhere in Faerun. Sometimes the deity is beyond the reach of such cultists or never existed except in myth, and its adherents receive no divine backing in their endeavors. Other times, a dead deity retains enough power to provide divine backing to a handful of worshippers. Occasionally, another deity masquerades in the guise of a dead deity, in hopes of expanding its portfolio. Some dead human deities who retain a handful of adherents include Amaunator, Bhaal, Ibrandul, Moander and Myrkul.
The question is if such a weak deitiy can grant high level spells and such.
I'm pretty sure Moander is Lloth these days, and Lloth still grands power via that name since she ganked his worshippers; but I can't recall the source off hand. I'll look around for it and post it if I find it.
Actually, from what I've read Lloth doesn't really give a hoot about that whole drow supremacy business. They're just her main followers and her primary souce of worshipper income, thus her favorite play toys. But Lloth is out for Lloth, not the drow. She caters to these others chumps that were following Moander just as much as she does the chitine, there's just way fewer of them and no one cares about them because drow are the ones with the El'lar d'Ssinss and hot +2 Cha babes without extra limbs and mandibles.
hey here's a lore question for yah. Talos. does he have druid worshipers running about?
If he does what is there disposition on undead/ liches. this is curious to me since velsharoon is in leagues with Talos in some form or fashion, and from what i read he (talos) has raised a few spellcasters and such into lichdom. thanks for the info.

I believe Talos does have Druid worshippers, and they probably have much the same views on undead and liches as most Druids do.
Zap them with lightning and acid?

Yep, I suppose so. Worshiper beliefs often differ greatly from what a deity really thinks. Talosian druids probably have no idea Talos is associating with Velsharoon.

Also, if you hit me up on MSN right now (ironangel@luukku.com) I can send you the Complete Guide to Fey. It's not a canon D&D book, let alone an FR one. But I guess you can work with it.
Unfortunately, not much FR specific information has ever been published about fey races.

1. Could someone provide me any and all information on summoning fiends and extraplanar entities? What rituals should be performed, what items should be offered, how to call their attention, etc? I don't mean the Gate spell, rather something which would take decidedly longer and possibly bind the demon/devil to the service of the caster as long as needed. (Example: The only one I can think of, from Baldur's Gate 2, where the drow are summoning a fiend to help them and tempt him with the silver dragon eggs and such.) Would you just give the Outsider a deal or something to keep them in your service or are there magical ways of binding not including True Names?
2. Basically the same as above except with powerful undead instead. Once more, not Epic Mummy Dust but rather a ritual or something beforehand. I'm assuming raising a Mummy Lord will involve decidedly more than animating a Zombie, for example.

1: Yes, basically. Call them with a Binding or Gate and negotiate. Not much choice there. Or find a way to enslave them.
2: Powerful undead usually make themselves: Liches, Vampire Lords. "Technically" all raising a more powerful undead takes is placing a more valuable onyx in the corpse that you are animating. In PnP, the strength of the undead you raise is directly proportional to the strength of the original creature, since in the spell Animate Undead, anyways, you're creating a skeletal or zombified variant of the creature you're animating. That sounded redunant. Anyways, the cleric spells and Create Undead line can create undead types dependant on your own caster level, but still require more onyx if the corpse was stronger in life.

2 Conceal alignment is for that very purpose i believe. Regardless from an Amia viewpoint its a players discretion as to whether or not they allow you to detect evil on them. Some do and some don't. Given that, i personally don't allow people to detect alignment on me -Unless- the Paladin in question has memorised a useless spell like Virtue or something similiar. That came about when i witnessed a 5th level Pally i was teaming with emoting: detect evil 7 times in a rest period.

In PnP, paladins get Detect Evil as a supernatural ability and can use detect evil, as the spell, at will.

And btw.. how in h**l didi it get inside...
Ah ha, something I know a great deal about.
The dragon is Imperator. IN life, he was an extremely old silver dragon, to the point where his scales began to take on a burnished Platinum look. He was the guardian of Castle Benwick, a castle that existed years ago, and was in the place where the Salandran Temple is right now (1.50 split geography aside). He, along with the other 5 metallic dragons in the area, constantly fought against the Dark Flight of Tiamat. When the Dark Flight attacked Benwick and destroyed it, Imperator fled to Kohlingen where his friend Darius Tristram was waiting for. Or had been anyways, the player had long since been gone from the server, but it was a reasonable explanation. The Dark Flight continued to lair about in Wyrmhold, now ruins in the center of the island. Imperator serves in human guise alongside Justicar MArinsbane, offering advice and making sure the Dark flight don't turn their eyes on Kohlingen before they're able to handle them. He serves as advisor for years.
For some time, Imperator laid low in Kohlingen, and must of Bahamut's Wing was scattered about the island. Fastforward some RL time and my wyrmshadow Prophect plot occurs (see: DM Story, read: The Wyrmshadow Prophecy, by me). Towards the end of this, Imperator is slain by Infernus, Queen of the Dark Flight. In recognition for centuries of service, Imperator is allowed to return to Faerun has a Spirit Dragon, a mystical spirit guide. He now remains in Kohlingen in Spiritual Deathless form (NOT undead. Outsider.), continuing his work as advisor, but now unable to manifest human form due to being a Spirit.

So basically he cant do anything else than give advices. What I mean is that if evil peeps would attack the castle he couldnt help the defenders?
He's quite capable of combat still, but he's on such an extreme level that his combat role is relegated to two things: Plot progression purposes, or "Dumb PC Elimination" (Read: An evil walks up to him and starts taunting him.), or the like. He's not someone that's going to fight for every little thing. If the city is burning and the gates are being beat down and people are dying left and right, then yes, he'll fight. Otheriwse, you have PCs and normal NPCs for that sort of thing.

Exactly what does the feat "Snake-Blood" mean in actual terms? Did one of the character's ancestors actually prefer a snake for a mating partner (no idea how that would even work...)? Or is it to do with lizardfolk or something?

I also wanted to know, what would the name of the sourcebook be where you get all those detailed descriptions of spells people keep quoting in this thread? The PnP spells like Wish, etc...

For RPing purposes, is it sufficient to emote a PnP spell (with required Focus, Material, etc) and back it up with a spell of the same level to show you set aside something in place of that spell? I'm talking about Cleric spells here, and since they are all instantly known to the Cleric when he/she attains the required level, memorizing is not a factor.
