While I await for my CDKey to be sent to me from Good Old Games (it is entirely worth googling GOG if you're trying to find older games like Planescape: Torment or Age of Wonders) I've been reading through the various threads and rules to re-familiarize myself with Amia, but I've been unable to locate any information (most likely overlooked) on whether or not the old system of your familiar/animal companion scales with your level. It used to be you'd get substantial benefits to your companion at CL 10, 20, and 30 to encourage pure classes but I can't seem to find it. A link to the thread or an explanation would be much appreciated, thanks!

Click on "summons" on the sidebar, there is all the info you need.
Edit: I see the actual stat info is removed. Suffice to say, the more levels you have as a druid, range or mage, the better your companion or familiar is. A level 30 animal companion is probably the best summon you can get.

5/- Dr from level 2 - 10 10/- DR from 11 - 20 15/- DR from 21+
Every two leves grants +1 AC. Every 5 levels grants +1 Enhancement to the companions attack.
And I can't remember the rest.

Prior warning that script is soon going to be gone because I'll be smacking the animal companions and familiars individually again and balancing them that way. Well not soon, give me maybe three months after feb.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully they'll loose some DR, and gain some AC and get 'Average ab' instead of the whopping 57-60

All the companions are rather different from each other. Some have more AC than others, some have less but it is all for a good reason. We tried to make them all equally useful, maybe some more useful than the most in certain situations, but nonetheless equal in strength. Of course this can't succeed on the first try, but slowly, with a bit of tuning and a lot of testing, we'll do our best to balance them out.

The good thing about dropping the script is that it allows for more differentiation. Having a pixie, bear, bat, eyeball, and hawk with the exact same DR (for example) is restricting.

I agree. I just ask that Mosh keep the roles of the specific familiars in mind. The offensive familiars like panther, pseudodragon, etc don't really need that high of DR. But for their less beefy counterparts, at epic levels, its kinda the only thing that keeps em around in PvM. >.>
