My character has been living in uhm almost since character creation. I was mostly wondering what i would notice about uhm.. the trade, the state of the economy(already have a pretty good judgement on it's not the best) who they trade to exactly and what is it they trade. perhaps even the attitude of the people that live there..are they happy or disgruntled? I would like to get in touch with the DM that is over uhm, aswell i would like to set up some rp in the future concerning uhm.

There is no definitive "Uhm DM", but here's a few threads you could peruse for a little bit of history in the village. They're in order from most recent to more distant:

Uhm protects its own! (DM event)

Uhm/Cliffside: East Meets West (Player/faction event, with DM involvement leading to the "Uhm protects its own!" event above)

Plight of the Lumorian Gulf (DM event)

Uhm Restoration Drive (player-driven event in response to a player-driven attack)

The current acting mayor is (Untermeister) Thames Rodderick, who is not actually an NPC in-game. He was deputy mayor under Mayor Keenan (still in-game due to being a quest NPC that was never replaced) before the Plight of the Lumorian Gulf thread events and "took over" when Mayor Keenan didn't stop the Triadic Knights from taking Michael Boswin (who was accused of murdering one of the village's children). The most noticeable outcome of that was the Triadic Knights and anyone "identifiable" as hailing from (or loyal to) Kohlingen were banned from the village. That ban is still in effect to this day.

Due to the "Uhm protects its own" thread, the villagers are understandably suspicious of any Eastern person. "Mayor" Rodderick doesn't like outsiders interfering in Uhm business, and he's got the backing of most of the villagers due to the above situations.

Otherwise, Uhm is a small village with a population of less than 100 citizens (not including whatever PCs live there), which relies on fishing for the vast majority of their own food but still imports some seafood products and basic goods from Wharftown. Uhm's exports (to Wharftown mainly) include finished goods like furniture, shipping parts, pitch and pitched rope, a small amount of fruits, and honey/wax/candles from their beehives. The village now has a standing militia on constant guard against outside threats. When threats do arise, the village is known to go after those who threaten them with a mob mentality.

Is the following (taken from the Plight of the Lumorien Gulf event in my above post) still in effect in Uhm, or has it changed? It has been 3 years, after all, and one of my characters has recently returned to her old residence there, so... knowing is kinda important. To her, at least.

Leggomi Eggolas wrote:
"By order of the Mayoral Deputy, and from the Office of Mayor Keenan,

By the unfortunate acts of misguided souls acting in folly to preserve the wicked and in breach of the interests of our common law, we must issue this proclamation.

All Gentry, knights, and auxiliaries of the Church of the Triad and Government of Kohlingen are forbidden from entering into the Township of Uhm, on pain of hanging by the neck until dead. This shall be enforced by the militia so long as justice is denied to Goodwoman Gilfred and her lost and departed childe.

Members of the militia are to be vigilant against those hailing from Kohlingen. Civillians of the Justicar's City are advised to turn from the township of Uhm, at hazard of incurring the wrath of the folk.

The Captains of Militia Patrols are given authority over all persons within the Village Palisade.
Visitors are to submit to any request to stop and be searched by a party to the militia. Those in possession of Kohlingen Papers, letters patent, or official document may be tarred and feathered without penaltie. Possession of symbols Holy to the Triad are considered in poor taste, and those bearing them may be under particular scrutiny. Clergy of the Triad unrepentant for the actions of these Knights Kohlingen may be tarred and feathered without penaltie.

These measures of this proclamation shall be enforced until Michael Boswin has faced his just deserts at the end of a rope, and the City of Kohlingen respects our sovereignty.

Sincerely and with the interests of the Township of Uhm,

Untermeister Thames Rodderick"

The banishment of Kohlingen was uplifted ages ago during the Garagosian raiders assault along the West Coast.
