I dig it. It looks good. And for the record, brown and black -do- go together... >.>
But, if you must change the brown sue to threats from the goose , I say go with a dark gray or a dark greenish-blue. I know you're probably thinking "dark greenish-blue?!?!?!" But it would look good in a very very dark shade, trust me. I tried it. They both look good. See:
Dark greenish-blue
Dark gray

New layout rocks.
Only issue with my browser is the new sidebar doesn't stay on the side as you scroll down.

Yush, it's all one page now. Frames suck, especially with applications where you have to login. You'll also notice the player count doesn't change by itself now. You got to refresh the page to check the latest numbers. Cuts down on database access, as a lot of people just leave their browser running without even looking at it, which currently generates a constant stream of useless queries.

Though I must say you choice of background image is interesting. Should we choose something a bit more... you know, attractive? I'm not saying it should be a sexy elven mage in skimpy clothing like on most games (the old man is quite a funny counter to those sites...), but maybe something that hints of great adventures?
(stupid forums won't let me edit for some reason, so double post...)

1) Is there a way to remove the sidebar from the forums?
Before the update you could watch them without having the sidebar visible.
2) they seem a LOOOT slower at the moment...
even had one of these:
Quote: Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\Web\phpBB2\includes\template.php on line 236
possibly temporary but still...

Amia Messenger is under Varia now. No need for the garish button down the bottom.
I suggest you remove the original sidebar Disco. It makes the pretty new website look wasteful and yuck.

Every few reloads its been giving me some things in the sidebar that it shouldn't be giving me.
Admin stuff.
I've not clicked on anything so I don't know if the links work just an FYI.

While you're at it, can you hack the base forum arrangement so that the forum admin panel appears at the 'sidebar', too?

Rather not, it's kinda deep into the phpBB code, and you don't need it that often.

Render problem in the browser. Which one do you have? Try to use another one for reference, btw. See if both do the same.

Internet Explorer is notorious for rendering standardised code in strange ways. I got nothing major against MicroSoft, but they simply do some things against international standards and the results are there for everyone to see.
