I'm not sure if someone requested that before. And yes, I know it's not the request forum. But since it's not a proper request yet, I would like to ask first before I commit a mistake further. Is it possible to increase the shadow area created by those items: Darkness and Deep Darkness (aka Blackguard's tools) ?
If you DMs feel it would be better to move it to request forum, feel free to do it.

Since this isn't in the request forum, I'm assuming I'm free to reply...
Unless I'm mistaken, Darkness has a static VFX... so probably impossible.

Nope, not possible, to my knowledge.

Ya I don't think you can make the VFX bigger, you can probably script it so that the darkness effect applies to characters over a larger area but the VFX itself would stay the same.

In a sense, I think it would be possible to have a custom script widget that uses darkness, but casts it 4 times in close proximity. This would then make it appear to be larger than normal while still having the same duration and effect.

I know nothing about scripting or the toolset, but it's just my theory.
If you want it to look less square and more circle you could try using six of them in a hexagon pattern.

Saying this would cause lag or could be affected by it?
I'm thinking the script could fire to set off every darkness at once so it wouldn't be too affected by lag, but I don't know -shrug-

This is easily doable and in fact a perfect replica of a recent request.

You're confusing pulses and aura, and scripting in general.

Those also don't work all the time, even if you stay in the radius.
Circle of alignment was changed to cast Protection from Alignment to those within a 'circle' radius around the caster. I believe -because- it was so much lag associated with it, but partly because it didn't work all the time. I may be wrong on this but -shrug-.
Sphere of Invis should be changed to cast Invis on those in radius like CoA, because I remember several incidents where my cleric cast SoI and walked with his party, only to have random individuals become visible even when they were directly beside him.
Edit; and what Tormak said.

Gah! The sum of cardemum is that it isn't very laggy at least!

Because it's on the DM forums. MAke your own request and RP and rput forth what you would like; you don't need hi s to copy off of.

Would be epic if you could temporary turn an area into Night with the effect of extremely empowered Darkness... >_>
Personally I would suggest asking for it to spawn 6 Darkness Spells at once based on CL etc etc, in a Hexagon pattern for it to effectively increase the area of the spell by anywhere from 200 - 250%. But that's just me.
