Late one evening Kampo can be seen waiting anxiously on the docks (which were spared during the attack) with a couple of vicious looking bodyguards. Sure enough a ship appears on the horizon and slowly but surely cuts it's way across the bay towards the Storehouse, disembarking from the ship is a haunched little man, sporting an unruly mop of auburn hair, and a black obsidian cane. Behind the little human a large, mountain of a thing steps off. A large greataxe is strapped to his back, and two broken tusks extend from a truly hideous face, roping scars molest the flesh, and it's neck is blackened with a long forgotten burn.

Kampo shakes the mans hand amiably enough before heading inside to survey the damage.

Shortly after this event a proclomation is posted upon the doors of Kampo's, as well as various cart stops in Bendir, Nexus Falls and Uhm.

Inhabbitants of Amia,

I am Kampo and I have been on this island for an age serving you all beverages and keeping you entertained in my humble storehouse. I would say I have been a most humble host, never treating any differently for their race, faith, or past. Never raising my blade against those undeserving of it, never refusing a customer service. Yet I still paid the price for the altercation between Banites and Drow.

It has always been my way to drag myself up out of the mud when people push me down, but this puddle is deep friends and I don't think I can do it alone. The Shrine of Eilistraee has offered to assist me in rebuilding my home so that those who relied upon the trade that came through my storehouse might not suffer for the actions of one deranged spellcaster.

So this is my request, for those of you who have enjoyed my hospitality, to help me in rebuilding my storehouse, to restore it to its former splendour. So that those who died during the attack, many who had families to support, may not have died in vain!

Waukeen bless you and keep your pockets full.

Kampo.

While passing through on the cart route, Morshkul sees the notice and walks away muttering to himself.

"To the hells with Kampo. He let them meet here and plot. To the hells with the Ellistraeans tryin to get their good guy badge. Next time I hope all that's left is a crater."

Upon seeing the notice, for she had had no idea of what had transpired at one of her favorite establishments, the woman known as Crystal frowned deeply. Her eyes took in the damage and with a slow shake of her heard she turned away. Not long after, however, a message would be delivered to Kampo's, intending to seek him out.

Kampo,

I'll keep it short, but I was sad to hear what had happened at your Warehouse. It's an awful thing, and I'm sorry it happened. I didn't even know about it until I read your posting. I've been to your establishment a lot since I arrived on Amia and I wanted to offer whatever assistance I can. I'm not the strongest gal, but I'm handy and if I can do it you can count on me.

You can reach me at the Long and Short in Cordor, or Wiltun's Noway Inn, for now.

Crystal

I have already spoken with the Shrine on this matter. I offer my aid in rebuilding the storehouse. As a merchant, I myself have used thy storehouse to announce and fulfill my own trades many times, so I will now gladly help thee.

A Notice is left in the Shrine of Eilistraee

Dear friends and faithful

We have long lived next to Kampos storehouse and many times many of us have gone there to purchase goods or have a drink. In the past months we have often spoken ill of the sorts who came to his tavern and schemed there. However for all we may speak ill, Kampo has never cast us out looked down upon us for our blood nor done us any wrong.

Some say he is an enemy, that he harbored our foes, but do we accuse him of being their ally simply because they drank in his tavern? Do we say he aided because they plotted and schemed outside his home and in both places to quiet and loud for Kampo to hear them plot? And how fair is it to say he even took such plots seriously, after all how often do we pay attention to the words of drunken braggarts.

The only wrongs Kampo can be accused of are not being perfect and not knowing everything. He is no monster, no vile fiend and a fairer man to us then many we have known. Thus I implore you folk of the Shrine and our friends to help us raise funds both to repair and invest in the Store House.

Not just because of charity and tolerance, but for the tolerance he has shown us when none was asked.

Not just because it might help the Shrines economy, but because it will help a man who has walked a road of hardship and distrust for his blood as so many of us have.

Not just because we are better then our foes, but because we are nothing like them.

Not just because it allows us to bring greater safety to our home, but because it brings safety to all of Benwick Hallow.

So my dear friends and allies I ask that should you have donations or wish to invest in Kampos Store house please see me Erelkacha Kenlyl and other senior Shrine members as head of coordinating the Fundraising for this endeavor.

A note is left, adressed to Kampo.

"To Kampo,
Proprieter of Kampo's Warehouse,

Know that you and your kin hold my sympathies for your recent loss of life and property. Know that Amaunator is ever watchful, and those responsible for the attack shall not escape lawful justice in this life or beyond.

I have recorded your request and I hereby offer my assistance in the restoration of your warehouse and business. Know that I can offer little in coin or resources. Instead, I offer my knowledge in regards to trade organisation and lawful contract in order to reestablish your operations in the most efficient manner as possible.

Know that I offer the blessings of Amaunator, Eternal Sun. For while there are times of shade and fear, there is ever a new day, hope and opportunities while He rises and His Radience falls on us. And so you and your kin will rise anew, in peace and prosperity.

Should you wish to enlist my assistance, I may be contacted via the Nomad's Return tavern in Cordor.

Marcus Sembianus Aurelius,
Apostle of Amaunator, Sol Invictus."

A letter reaches Kampo's.

Dear Kampo

Whilst I cannot assist with gold (I'm not rich), I would be quite willing to lend a Helping Hand in other ways. Perhaps, by facilitating exports of metals from Endir Point's fine community to assist in the rebuilding, even if its only in the manufacture of the thousands of nails you're going to need. The metal workshop here is one of the best around.

Facilitating trade is a most worthy cause and where I can help, I will.

*Beldor is seen brushing aside a stray bit of debris or cement on his way through Kampo's. While he pens no formal offer of assistance, his continued frequenting of the establishment and the tips of his helm to Kampo himself suggest that he plans to become involved with the effort in some way or another.*

Soon enough a letter is sent to Kampo from the Shrine reading.

Dear Kampo

The Shrine has the funds available and a sizable amount extra to invest as capitol in the rebuilding and betterment of your Trading Post. The Senior members of the Shrine and others would be more then happy to meet with you for an exchange of funds and to speak about the future of Benwick Hallow and the need to maintain our freedoms and safety from dangerous folk. We can also divulge the information about the folk who harmed your business in person.

We can and should met at the earliest opportunity for all of us. -Your Friend Erelkacha Kenlyl

A cowled man in black and blue clothing can be seen around the storehouse's ruins quite often, though strangely enough to some, he is not outwardly hostile to anyone. Should the man run into Kampo himself, the darkly clad man lowers his voice and warns him of the bloodthirst and treachery of any and all drows - their plans to annex his storehouse, limit his freedom of clientele and cutting into his profits, in particular.

Given it was a human that destroyed Kampo's livelihood the half-orc would narrow one eye on the cowled figure and tell him, "In all my days in this storehouse it has been humans that have caused me the most grief, myself and the Shrine have had a happy coexistence until... you guessed it, humans decided to cause a ruckus. So kindly take your views elsewhere."

Deciding to take advantage of the extra time provided as Kampo heals his burn wounds (as she had presumed had delayed him at any rate) Erelkacha took to her desk with quill and ink. A thoughtful letter would soon be written and sent off to the Mayors, councilors or recognized leaders leaders the following areas.

Winya Ravana
Actand Cliff Village
The Holy City of Kohlingen
The Temple of Saint Salandria
Kampo of the Store House

Dear leaders of the free peoples of the Nexus Hills & Benwick region, recently the Storehouse of Kampo was burned very badly to the point of gutting the interior with fire and taking the lives of several innocent people who worked there in the resulting blaze.

The Shrine of Eilistraee is providing the funds to repair the fire damage but this creates a golden opportunity for all of us who are connected by the Nexus River and Benwick Coast. Kampo's Store House sits upon an ideal Trade Hub for all of us, a trade hub that can increase prosperity and security for all of our homes.

We and some independently wealthy Individuals are willing to offer capitol to Invest into the idea of Transforming Kampo's from a Storehouse into a Trading Post. I and Jud'vardas have serriously considered the value of this to all of us and would like to arrange to speak with as many who can be connected through Kampo's about a trade alliance using Kampo's Trading Post as the middleman.

Kampo has in the past hired rafters, built docks and had storage all of witch are needed to support a strong trade network. The Shrine is willing to offer two spare Clockworks made for wartime to protect the road leading directly to Kampo's proper to help ensure its safety from brigands and ruffians.

That having been said I and Jud'vardas would like to speak to representatives if possible to discuss desired trade goods (even luxury goods to boost the economy) and surplus trade available if at all.

The only stipulation and I believe it is a fair one is that Kampo be permitted to regulate trade prices as he sees fit and that we not force our ethics or ideals upon his home. That any presence be a bare minimum of what is needed to maintain security and any investments given unless Kampo asks otherwise.

All in all my hope is to strengthen our homes, people and economy. To help each stand taller, stronger and with greater independence as communities. To stand united in peace and prosperity as we often have in times of conflict and hardship.

-Yours in Love & War Erelkacha Kenlyl

"I hope he is alright, I hope the plague isn't making things worse. Goddess there is so much bad going on in the Forest-Nexus-Hallow region right now I worry if its a sign we are doomed" Kacha sighed as she realized she was talking to herself. A bad habit but sometimes it helped to hear her voice outloud rather then in her own head.

She had spoken to Winya and Kohlingen both seemed mildly interested but in both cases it seemed they would rather trade be handled by wealthy independents, or was busy with internal political matters. Of course the real lynch pin was Kampo, in convincing him to convert the Storehouse into a trading post and act as a HUB for NEAT. The Shrine was certainly willing to fund the effort and if he was in agreement ask local merchants and traders to join.

She sighed again and shook her head dispelling her worry, good things come to those who wait and there was no sense rushing things. In due time one way or another things would be resolved.

A portly gentleman places a letter upon the door of Kampo's before departing on a nearby cart. It reads as follows:

Silent2001 wrote:
Faithful Allies,

I will press on rebuilding efforts. Sorry for my delay and absence from the meeting. My health took a turn for the worse but I am on the mend and out of the Salandrna Temple. I am staying with friends. I have heard of the plague and if you wish to use the storehouse as a makeshift hospital to house the victims please, do so, you have my permission.

I have been making plans for the Storehouses refurnishing and with the gold you have offered, and the support of others it should be an easy enough fix.

Dear reader,

I am holding a meeting to discuss the future of my storehouse, on [[28th, 11PM GMT]]. Any and all are welcome, those who have pledged their services and their coin should attend so we can discuss the renovation.

Erelkacha nodded calmly and started to prepare herself mentally for the meeting, the Shrine was going to be there and they had no intention of allowing wicked forces to get their hooks into a place so close to their home.

Skybasha,

I thank you for your offer. At the moment it is builders I need. Oh, and engineers. Let us rebuild this storehouse into something the bay can be proud of.

A colossal, green-skinned Ogrillon may have been seen in the Storehouse with a much smaller, green-skinned half orc in Gold and Red. They're talking Orcish in an irritated mannerism, the conversation filled with snorts, grunts and swears. One thing is discernable, though: They really want a damn drink.

A letter bareing the offical Seal of House Kenlyl finds its way to being placed at the ruins of the Store House. (Copies are made and sent to Kholingen, the Dale, Cordor, Wharftown, Winya and Uhm with a small note asking if the towns guards would ever so kindly post these in a place that wouldn't clutter the township)

A Call to Friends Across the Isles of Amia

Image

To adventurers, craftsman and folk of every walk of life on behalf of the Shrine of Eilistraee I ask you kindly to lend your aid. Not in battle, not in vengence but in helping a man reclaim his livelihood. Much time has passed since Kampo lost his storehouse to the actions of a mad wizard drunk on his own power in service to a Lolthite drow-Devil Cult alliance who force-ably occupied his Storehouse.

Many chose to wallow in elitism refusing to aid the man because he treated all who came to his store house as equals, but when it comes down to it what right do they have to judge a man who only wants to live life and operate his business by his own terms?

Kampo may not be a shining example of societies accepted norms, he isn't some fancy do well human merchant, he isn't some aloof moraly elite snob. No he is a man who has treated everyone fairly at his business, a man who has judged others by how they treated him, not by Kith, Creed or Country.

And now he is in need of people to help him, builders, Engineers, craftsmen of all walks of life. We the Shrine of Eilisrtaee ask of you to offer your services to Kampo if not for him then for us and if not for us then because Kampo has been given a large sum of gold to pay people for such labors.

Kampo is a man who should be respected for his free spirit, strong will and Independence in the face of an oppressive world. Anyone who vilifies the man for that need to reconsider their narrow minded and hidebound ethics.

Mister Kampo,

I want to talk to you. I am expert stonemason and I might be able to assist. Write below this text when you are available and I will come to talk to you.

A simple message is left at the Storehouse.

My friends,

I have had my box filled with responses and pledges of aid to help rebuild my storehouse. I dont' have the time to respond to them individually but I will be at the Wrymfall festival in Kohligen to speak with Zelly and any others who wish to discuss the future of my storehouse, seek me out there!

Kampo.

*Gromida would leave note at Storehouse apologizing for her inability to attend the festival*

// OOC: Can't come to festival today, RL stuff.

After much thought I don't think dealing with Copper Industries reflects my moral outlook. The tradehouse has been, and will be, a place for people of any creed and race to drink and enjoy the entertainment I offer. In light of this I endorse an open trade relationship with my neighbours in the Shrine of Eilistraee. I would ask that instead of offering me aid you inspect the ruins and offer me plans, figures, and prices.

Miia Baykal, if you will accept the offer I would like you to become my head brewer and begin work on restocking Kampo's.

Kacha, I would appoint you to head up the rebuilding effort and see that reconstruction begins soon. Simply present the final plans to me before enacting it and I will put my seal of approval on it.

I will be doing my best to bring the trading vessels back to the Storehouse whilst the reconstruction takes place.

Kampo.

Kacha read the latest note and nodded curtly in agreement before entering the Shrine to relay the new information and plans to the Shrine.

And soon there after the priestess heads to the burned out burning with a book and a writing stylus to take notes.

Posted outside the Store house.

After speaking to the new consultant hired by the Shrine to appraise damaged and required repairs a cursory survey suggested the following major repairs be undertaken before a second phase of building. As Kampo has said the foundtation is solid however extensive fire damage demands certain work be done.

-Check ceiling to ensure its stable
-Replace floor boards and tiles

Once this is done shelves, furniture, carpeting and the like will be a simple matter for replacment, and other build plans can be explored.

Lord Cory Shadowflame lord of Carigah is in possession of raw materials. As for workers and builders once raw materials are determined and available we and our new consultant will be hiring laborers.

News eventually reaches Zelly about Kampo's declaration and she simply shakes her head, particularly unhappy that he didn't send her a missive informing her of his retraction.

"Maybe the next time those beasts he harbors destroy his precious coin-trough, he'll rethink his stance," she later mutters to her mate.

Kampo's latest notice finds an addition in barely legible letters written in charcoal.

Later today, green robed female can be seen in the ruins of storehouse. Anyone still passing by could see her spend hours slowly moving from wall to wall, her hands gently caressing the stony texture as her own skin turns into one of stone. She carefully observes ceiling too, especially on places where parts of it fell off due to blast, trying to figure out if they are stable enough or they might collapse again.
After all walls and entire ceiling are "inspected", she moves to the center of the storehouse, where nothing bars access to stony ground, and assumes meditative pose. There she sits for hours, and only thing that can be heard is low grumbling sound, like grinding of stones.
