Say, after having rebuilt with a new instance of the same character, do we have to shell out a bunch of gold again to get our fully loaded Morgan & Sons storage capacity back, or is that transferred over on the PC Key also?

AFAIK, yes. I had two full rebuilds of same toon (stat changes and all), and all those items were still there.

Yep, I'm betting it's linked to your CDKEY wand or something. My one rebuild was the same way, so all should be golden.

I've been told by the DMs that suicide is equivalent to perma-killing your character, but what if it were on the grounds of say being captured? As if you knew you were going to be tortured for information but decided to take your own life instead. Does that still count as perma-killing suicide?

Suicide is only permadeath if your character has no intention of responding to attempts at resurrection. I bet that's what was implied by that ruling. In which case, I'd think it would mean you wouldn't be permadeathed if you killed yourself during capture, hoping that your allies will bring you back.

Are you hiding something from us Mathus? Like that you're actually a pale master?
Monk: 8x30=240
toughness = 30
maxed con = 180
total: 450

Looking at your request, you have no toughness, so you should have between 240 and 420 health. Maybe you have some items that give feats. Maybe there is a shadowdancer caster spamming temporary hit points on you.

From what I can find those two feats exist in NWN2 as ones added through the console, but since I cba to turn on a stupid game by Obsidian, I have no idea what they do.

This is pretty much correct. The intent behind the "if you suicide, you perma-death" idea is that if you intentionally kill yourself with no intention of responding to a Resurrection spell or the like, then you're effectively perma'd because no deity is going to take pity and "respawn" an individual who killed themself in such a fashion.

Basically.

More commonly (or uncommonly) worshiped deities by drow, apart from the Dark Seldarine?

I don't think there really are any. Once you segway from the Dark Seldarine I think it's essentially free game. Course, if you are trying to play a LG drow pally that's a bit weird, haha.

If you are sticking neutral/evil probably something that venerates darkness or evil of some sort, something that holds some of the drow core values/traits maybe.

Yep. There's not much that's really typical. There is a sizable number of drow followers of Shar, probably a few ex-Ibrandulites who technically worship her as well. Loviatar probably - I know the halfdrow in Dambrath tend to worship her, it may extend to fullblooded some as well.

Other than that - anything especially chaotic or evil of some stripe.

I've taken Malar to be a pretty common choice (despite his supposed hatred for elves). And Ghaunadaur, obviously. He's often listed among the drow deities but really has nothing to do with them or the Seldarine.

From what Amiawiki says about Malar, he actually has alliance with Lolth against the elves.

Probably less of an alliance and more of an arrangement. Malar doesn't require much provocation to hunt an elf and kill it. Drow wandering the strange surface are pathetic to hunt. Like trying to kill a fish in the desert.

How does that relationship exactly work then, cause i'm pretty confused now where does Malar exactly stand.

Thanks for your input guys btw, i'm getting the picture that when drow stray from the Dark Seldarine, it is indeed deity bonanza and an individual thing, whatever fits that rare drow outcast's agenda.

Might be useful to mention here as well that for a great many elves, the only legitimate path to peace between elf and drow is through Eilistraee. For those elves, a drow worshipping even Sune or Mystra or some such would be no different than a drow worshipping Lolth. I'm certainly not advising anyone not to play whatever they think they can convincingly pull off, of course. Just that the player of a maverick drow shouldn't be surprised OOC when the occasional IC response to, "but I'm not a Lolthite, I worship Lathander!!" turns out to be "I don't care. Die, dhaerow scum." :)

To be honest, it should confuse you. PCs aren't really privvy to the details of deific arrangements, let alone with a likelihood of knowing about it in the first place.

Can a DM be both playerside and DM side. More specific example. I will in the future need the help of a Druid and a DM for some RP for a request. Could Malandria be both the druid and the DM or would I need help from separate people?

You'd need different people.

And since someone will invariably point out, yes it is technically possible if someone dual-boxed, but we don't do that.

Is there a sourcebook that explains how elementals live? I am wondering if there is one like the fey compendium (or whatever it is called). I can't seem to find a definitive answer from my internet searches.

Also possible if DM has PC copied and saved and then goes into Client. Not advised at all, though. Bad form.

Where uhh... was the rogue shop and assassin trainer moved to, from Lowland Delta casino?

EDIT: Let me elaborate. I have a drow who runs around trying to find these guys, and... if you moved them to like Cordor or something, i'd like to know cause no point in looking, right? I won't mind a spoiler on this also, please PM me if posting here is inappropriate.

EDIT2: Or... are they like, dead "do to fire" too? Or is the casino just "Closed do to fire" and they're having a flaming rat race?

(Yes, there's a typo on the sign;)

Serious: Faerûn is actually a lot more progressive than the real world in a lot of respects, in a lot of parts of Toril. The fact that most people wouldn't look at a woman sideways for adventuring, for instance.

The link Linlan posted is the way to do it. Try too keep the test mod small, too. Can be annoying sometimes to open.

I have a test mod with just one area all the Haks, past and present and gear sets based off of what is available on Amia and it is slow to open, given the fact the computer I open the toolset on is quite old, now.

I think it is Spot/Listen, actually. Could be wrong.

But remember kids, you only have to roll checks if a DM says so.

I get the whole hard-on for pen and paper abilities being optional but it's actually in the game. Why not just oppose it with bluff? It's not perfect, but at least it represents an expenditure of effort above and beyond combat skills - which is what social characters do. Being able to use one skill that people already crack out for combat purposes as a counter for a skill that people put ranks into for RP purposes is not a good idea. It's really discouraging to hear that it doesn't matter how good your character is at lying, you had better lie and mislead people OOC or they're going to see through your bluffs.

Sense Motive.

Personally, I like never rolling bluff in the first place. Just lie and let the player take the risk of calling the bluff.

The problem this raises is what about when people who have low/mediocre charisma and no skill at bluffing but are played by people who are very charismatic and skilled at bluffing, who end up bluffing better than people who invested ranks in bluff. All because they bothered to roll the skill. :/

Rejoice, Council. I'm fairly certain its a WIS check to detect bluffs in-game, since we have no sense motive. At least, thats what the Dice roller said last I checked.

It's just too broken to actually bother with the dice on this, dude. Either it's opposed by spot which is extremely useful mechanically and therefore most people will beat a modest investment or you're dealing with one of the insane few people who max bluff at 100 and can tell you they didn't stab anyone while holding the bloody knife and knifed corpse in their hand and get away with it.
