True, arms and weaponry, and some clothing from the tailor. I guess I should be more specific and ask what other things do they trade in, the sort of things that you don't see as a PC because inventory useable items are all we care about in the game. Stuff a settlement might want to trade with the Underport for.

I've been thinking about finally spending some DC's, and of all requests, the mechanics of custom feats are a bit fuzzy to me.
So there's two placeholder feats: target self, and target other, right? Does that mean:
1. If i wanted a passive feat that would be always active, no can do, and the workaround would be activating it with "target self" for a duration, yes?
2. If i wanted a combat feat, can the "target other" work as Called Shot for example, meaning i can perform several attacks with that feat during one round, or the best the feat can do is 1/round (like Undead Graft)?

Custom spells are self/other. Custom feats are instant/full-action (like using an item).

I would figure it would be easy to note this info just by going to the Underport and checking.

So, with Instant being like KC's Shield Ally, and Full Action being like Undead Graft... i mean, i'm pretty much in the dark here, but is there a way to emulate a combat feat like Called Shot, or a combat mode like Expertise? Anything of the sort been done before?

Feats like Knockdown can't really be emulated. Combat modes can, though.

I have some custom feat questions too!
1.) Does a character have to have an open feat slot available to take a custom feat? Or is it just added on to a character separately from the normal feat-gaining process?
2.) Can the using of a custom feat be set up to not break the character out of stealth?

How does that work with a character who's already level 30? Does a character at max level also have to buy a partial rebuild to switch out a standard feat for the custom one?

If you are already max level you need to rebuild to pick a custom feat, yes.

So i read some where that home brew is fine for classes. How much leeway do we have with that? Meaning that without changing the basics of amia structure, cosmology, etc. what is my imagination allowed to create?

Not sure where you read that but that isn't 100% correct. And it always depends on case to case. Some homebrew stuff is not working at all for our server.
Same goes with simply playing a class as some other PnP Class. In some cases that works, in others (and actually quite many) it needs a request. Mainly because we need to check if that class is even suitable to be played as the intended class.
In case of homebrew stuff, I personally would always recommand to quickly ask beforehand. Else you might have to live with having to undo it if it does not fit in afterall. If you ask beforehand and get it confirmed, you're always on the safe side.

Ok, I'm just now getting into the job system so I am a little confused about how it works.
Currently I'm working with having Apprentice in mining, refining, and weaponsmith.
When I go to Mine a deposit, you get your initial roll, if you beat 50 then you get the ore. Then the Bonus roll, if you beat 10 then it upgrades the quality? Seems like if I just get ore it is at the "Above Average" quality, yet if I win the bonus role, it then moves to becoming "good" quality.
So that means that good quality is above "above average" yes?
How do I get above Good quality then?
Next up is Weapons smithing.
I managed to get an iron longsword made yet it has no stats. I suppose that is normal for such a low grade sword?

For every job, you produce increasingly higher quality goods by taking more ranks in the job. A crafter with all 3 ranks produces "Quality: Excellent" goods on a successful bonus roll.

Assuming its even possible, which feat is required too create potions/wands of "bless weapon" via the Repose cleric domain.
I would have thought craft wand as Bless Weapon is a level 4 power for a cleric, where as a paladin could use craft potion as its level 3 paladin spell.
However a DM expressed some concern that as its domain granted it might not be cast into a potion or a wand?
The character this concerns is ICly a Doomguide (or training to be one anyway) and I would like to be able to make potions or wands of this spell.
Its a cleric/ fighter build.

Bless Weapon is an innate level 1 spell (not 3), so works with either brew potion or craft wand. It should work fine with a cleric, because even though it is a level 4 cleric spell through the repose domain, the innate level does not change.

Hi thanks for the reply so you are saying that Brew Potion should work even though on the cleric its a domain power and level 4 spell?

Yes, just like arcane casters brewing remove curse despite it being a level 4 spell, since its innate cleric level is 3.

Who can give me a crash course on Spells by Hit Die? How do we quantify these? I am trying to develop one in a request thread. What would be a good suggestion for a Level 9 Spell that works based on a creature's HD?

1HD=1level A cap at 24 HD means your spell could affect six lvl 4 monsters or PCs, or three lvl 8, or one level 24. See the wiki for Mass Charm as an example ?

Donation chests are used for supplies as well as GP. Tithe plates will just donate GP to the nearest idol.

With spells like Scrying and Discern Location, what is the consensus on whether an object belonged to someone or not? Specifically, if someone purchased a piece of paper to use for a single note would that be enough for it to 'belong' to them? Or does the sympathetic tie have to be closer than that?

This is a real murky area, but I would hope that scrying from a paper is no good. And even then, you can get around it by layers of obfuscation, namely instructing someone else to put together the notice. But this sort of scry-and-die is real dirty and I wouldn't touch it on principle.

Not strong enough, I would argue. The same reason I would say you can't use a coin someone once had to scry on them (something like a token 'lucky coin' is different.) It lacks any depth of connection to the individual. Same with some random parchment. Now, if the parchment had a love poem they had written or received on it, that may be different. It is all about sympathy and significance to the target.

Thanks, those are the same conclusions I came to. It's not a tactic I would readily employ myself, serby, in fact it's something that I was trying to guard against for one of my chars :3 Yeah the paper holds no meaning other than a way to convey a message so I don't see it as being very meaningful to my char. Thanks!

Scrying a person only requires the caster has met the person, the more strong the bond between caster and the person being scryed the more easier it is. Same as having a personal item of that person being scried aids the scrying process as there is a bond by the person to that item, if the person did not care for that item, there is no bond. But still a mage who has seen him or her can attempt scrying the non caring person.

A better route is to learn a place that the person you're trying to scry on frequents, check out that place in person, then use Scry Location on it later.

Out of curiosity, can a cleric cast in a bard-like manner? That is, through song? I don't mean not preparing spells, but can they use song (both melodic sound and with words, that is) just as if they were speaking a prayer? Is a cleric completely bound to only uttering a prayer to cast a spell?

There is nothing I've seen that says that a Cleric (or indeed, any spellcaster) must complete the verbal component of a spell in a specific way, except maybe with very specific spells that I can't think of off the top of my head. By this same token, a Cleric (or any other spellcaster) could incorporate the somatic component into more flourishing movements. As long as they complete the verbal/somatic/material/focus component in some way, there's is nothing in the rules that says they cannot let their own style and personality shine through it in the process. As long as it's the same phrase, I haven't seen anything that says you couldn't sing it out.
