I'll stick to my own toons for now.

-Harold:
Low self esteem which is reinforced by some of his failures.
Easily startled; He tends to be react very slowly to the unexpected which tends to frighten him easily as well. He's much braver when he sees something coming a mile away.
Shy (Untill he gets to know someone on a personal level.)

-Kalinda;
Stubborn: makes mules look cooperative next to her once her mind is set.
Anti social: hates to be touched and so far hasnt dropped her guard with anyone save one, wont let people get close to her physically and emotionally. Doesnt make true friends easily (Though she is less closed to nature orientated people and farmers.)
Impulsive: Keeps giving all her gold away to 'worthy causes' and then realises she needed it herself.

Aly:
She's naive. You wouldn't expect it, being as she did grow up in the Underdark, but there are Reasons.

Her temper. Oh dear god the temper. She has none. she goes from zero to FUCK YOU ASSHOLE in about a quarter-second, so her trying to rein that in is amusing and frustrating to me, as the one watching.

She loves. Everyone. She's constantly falling in love, and she never really falls -out- of love. Each new man or woman just finds another place in her heart. She still loves people that are gone, or that hate her, or that are dead now. Makes monogamy a real trick.

Caesyli:
Racist: Like most wild elves she has no trust for any other race but wild elves and those in her grove, and those she distrusted for a long time.
The only exception is wood elves and some fey, but othervise she expects the worst of all other races.

Stubborn: She rarely changes her oppion of anything.

Agressive: As most wild elves, Cae is also rather agresive towards strangers, While this has deminished over the years, caesyli still has a mean streak where anyone even remotely talking against the grove and the druidic system, makes her instantly hostile towards them, though it has become less violent.

Zealot: In our modern eyes this would be a negative thing, she does not diverge from her faith in any matters, she is proud of her position as a druid and expect others to be respectfull of the druidic society in all matters, one more reason why cae has lost all respect of winya.

Time to jump in ^^

I'm actually playing only one character, outluding few other few-days-tests, so:

Laiath: Too careful. He tries to keep all under control (also in official way), without anyone noticing him do such, which is impossible to be balanced...
Improvisation needs to "kick-in" in him, so he jumps from being confused to fully enjoy the moment (that's due to his mostly antisocial long hours of studies in the library, while having agile mind to burst creativity when needed, then again not being adept with normal dealing with people, while knowing methods of manipulation and deceive)
Also - I play him very weak physically, a bit lazy and gawky.
Oh, and he tries to be strong while he gets very emotional over some beings/situations.

Feel free to say your thoughts on this, have no mercy!

MOD

Oh yeah... Sith is back in the hospital. Pneumonia. I'm kind of at a loss right now as far as what to do with him. Figure the best place for him is the hospital :/ He can get better and not get everyone else sick. *sigh* Here's to hoping for the best and missing my hunny.

For Marcus (and I'd be very interested to hear what other people think because he's a rather introverted character), I think his greatest flaw is also his greatest strength, and vice versa: he's an idealist. He believes that by asking the right questions he's glimpsed at what humankind (and the world) could be, as individuals and collectively, and working towards it is what drives him on.

Unfortunately, the world doesn't seem to share his vision, which is something he simply doesn't comprehend and is the source of his pride; he feels like he is the only one in the area that is really working towards something better - and everyone else is either well-meaning but ignorant (or incompetent), complacent or outright malicious. It also leads to his autocratic tendencies as he views himself as having the responsibility of saving the world from itself.

In the last few months he's seen such horror and anarchy happening in Cordor - with seemingly everyone set on betraying "his" vision in big and small ways - that he's become increasingly desperate. He's starting to crack under the pressure of being torn into different directions; his perceived obligation to do whatever he can to save Cordor and put it on the better path, and his desire to leave it behind and return to the more peaceful, scholarly path he enjoyed - while everything around him seems to fall to pieces.

He didn't implode Richard and Darby because he's just that kind of jerk (though his pride certainly didn't help), it was the direct result of this inner conflict - a desperate desire for a solution that would make everything alright. And then and there Richard was just the manifestation of everything that was wrong with the world and humankind.
-----
I've been giving some thought to what I see as other characters' flaws, but I find it difficult as Marcus' RP with these tends to be "functional" rather than personal. As such, anything I write would be more IC perception than OOC insight into the character, as I just don't have enough to build on.

However, I would say that Andrew Fryar might have a similar flaw to what someone described as Ulrik's flaw above: torn between a desire to do good and the desire to live a peaceful life with his family.

Think I'll write some bits and pieces on my characters.

Captor: A flaw most Earth Genasi tend to have - his pacing and stubbornness. If you ask me ICly or OOCly to meet at a time, I will do my absolute best to be there at that time. It happens to most of my PCs I've played and even to you, but when someone's late I get somewhat annoyed OOC (but never at the player, most of the time it's an OOC commitment issue) but IC, Captor will sit there and wait three whole hours or so before he questions whether or not they're going to turn up. His ignorance of how time-frames work falter in stressful situations, such as being sent to wait at the bottom of a sulphur-filled volcano, but this makes for some interesting conversations.

His stubbornness is his greatest flaw. In his mind what he knows is the right thing to do is the right thing to do. He factors in other's customs and religions in to his thoughts (Example: Partying with Dwarves he will think about their pantheon when making choices or opinions), but his ideas take first hand experience for them to change.

Thinking on it, the feeling of helplessness irritates Captor to no end. If he believes there is something he can do, he will go out and do it. He strongly dislikes being sent to a corner where he can not help at all.

Dian: Her religion and racial instincts clashing. One of her main points she developed on was her desire as an Aasimar to see beings such as Tieflings put to justice for what their ancestors have done. You'd have to be blind to not notice Tieflings hanging around or even helping Bendir Dale, which her religious Dogma created a state of powerful desire to protect. This friction lead to her making an ultimatum on tapping in to her ancestry, which fortunately ended with her blonde hair losing its colour and turning white, was not something she wished to do when she witnessed how ascended Aasimar treated Tieflings who were doing no harm.

Dermock: His unfriendliness. "A Gnoll, unfriendly? Get out of town!" I hear you shout as I say that. Surprisingly he is more than willing to talk and party with others, but he dislikes this at heart as he believes that those who are doing so are too trusting. He won't kill them pointlessly (At least for now) but he dislikes that they believe he would not do so, as his race would be more than happy to do.

Any comments you wish to add would help me a lot more to discover how others perceive(d) my characters!

For a while they were doing "toons of the person above me" but this thread is a little disorganized lol. I've asked if people wanted two separate ones but they don't seem to

What the hell made one anyway

I would, but I personally can't word correctly my thoughts about other's characters. It's like trying to explain an abstract painting - that's just the way my mind works.

There's a strange culture on Amia (and other role-playing environments) where we don't actually put our work up for criticism, and nobody dares offer any suggestions. Perhaps it has to do with this being a game and all, but writing as such is not some sacred expression of creativity that is beyond all evaluation. Every writer can use an editor, and getting feedback on what's believable and what isn't should make our characters even better.

I couldn't agree with you more. When I mess up, I would want to be called on it (politely), so that I can improve myself. With that said, though, I'm not about to go offering suggestions to other people I think could use them, aside from the casual: "Another horned/winged creature! Oh my."

How do you counter that..

I honestly think even the best of roleplayers have this problem. (I like Iron's advice, though.) :)

I think Cory's major flaw I think is he's kind of focused on getting stronger and that effects his actions and makes him look like a power hungry nut case given his undead form.

So after combating any strong foes Cory will be the first to start picking over his remains like a vulture or looking around their base of operations in hopes of taking any thing of value or use to be take down any future threats.
As the saying goes "power corrupts" Cory's increase in power has scared some people because what if he snaps and with his increase in power plain and simple violence is more of a option in cases against some foes because he is strong then them and can walk in and slaughter them.

Also a bunch of other minor things that all add up with making look even worse but I'm sure others might have noticed flaws with Cory that I may have not have and would love to hear them.
