This night, at this time, a great lurch was felt to shudder through the entirety of the Living City.
Anyone with nautical experience, of who has felt the city's movement previously, would be able to tell it has seemingly sped up in its travel across the waters... a fair bit in fact.

Perhaps an odd sight, only a little over an hour later, three very large flags seem to "form from thin air", one atop each of the three towers within Tarkuul, the highest structures of the City. Each of the flags would be identical in nature, each shown to be the commonly recognized symbology for the desire for peaceful parley.

Some may have seen a member of the Living Guard, the Priestess Laura, and the dragonkin Iim'mur'ss leave the court of the undying by way of the portal linked to Shadowscape. When the dragonkin was next seen in the city she seemed to be solely focused with trying to paint /something/. There were three designs, each on a different canvas, and dozens more that she apparently burned. She would often break from the act of painting to move the three designs around like puzzle pieces.
Eventually, though she didn't look entirely pleased with what she had reproduced, she asked to see the Speaker.

Dill can be seen topside with a drink in hand as the city shifts its speed. Grumbaling to the people present, she quickly descends back to the castle library apprently doing alot of studying. Perhaps the weirdest thing was the fact she was in clothing rather than armor for once. It could also be the pile of books stacked in the library. The observent could notice a profound interest in common races. No matter what she sat reading, a drink in hand at most points.

*Ðraco sat at the Ghostly Kraken with a glass of whiskey in hand when he felt the sudden shift in speed. After several minutes he left the tavern for the nearest edge of the city where he looked down into the ocean in thought, offering little more than a nod to others that he might pass unless approached. After some time he finished his drink and dropped his glass into the water, as he left he noticed the one of the flags atop a tower, then the other two. A grin creeps over his face and he mutters to himself before making his way to the library*

The footsteps of a skeleton is a common sound in the city of Tarkuul. But the sound of hundreds of feet marching is another one. Those in the court of the Undying at that moment would see skeleton upon skeleton exiting the crypts and proceeding to the court of the Dead. Those quick to count would note they number over one hundred as they march with undying determination to one specific building in the court of the dead to begin their work.

A day after many of the skeletons are outfitted with tools to aid their work. They have begun clearing rock from the south eastern building of the court. Grim makes frequent visits and now spends much time surveying their work closely.

After speaking to Dill, Calypso goes to work learning how to build a barrel using the best materials available possibly Oak, Iron and Steel, unless she finds out otherwise. At any rate she figures at least the cost of such a project having a four feet diameter and six feet deep, and takes note of it.//pm me for info on this if you would. **editted** I thought I'd add she's a Journeymen Carpenter and a Master Weaponsmith.

*After a lengthy private conversation with Lucius in his office in the library Draco can be seen rummaging through tomes in the library. Collecting several books and bringing them back to the desk. If anyone were to approach they'd see he seemed to be looking into the outer planes, chaotic planes, and more specifically creatures known as Slaad. Jotting down short notes in a notebook recording what little he could manage to find on the subject.*

viewtopic.php?f=38&t=69471&p=1221553#p1221553*-*-*-*-* Just as the residents of the Enclave had perhaps begun to grow accustomed to the motion of the City at travel, it would gradually slow to a halt as it reaches its destination off the Bay of Cordor. A few moments after stopping horizontal movement, it would begin to gently rotate in place, facing the Court of the Dead towards Cordor, while the "joint" between the Court of the Living and Cort of the Undying would face out due south towards the sea.

A new face can be seen around Tarkuul. A large, chubby man, proudly announcing himself as Bill Hurst can be seen roaming around. With him are three guardsmen, though they mostly remain quiet in contrast to the exceptionally loud and completely unsubtle Hurst. He spends most of his time in the Kraken, stuffing his face full of food, making the seats under him creak under his bulk, talking with patrons, regulars, the barkeep, and the chef. Especially the chef...

On evening Luca would simply appear in a faint puff of shadowsmoke in a seat beside the journalist, his own glass of dark wine in hand.
"Mister Hurst, I can't say I ever expected to see you in our little slice of the Realms. Your career has been delightfully amusing to follow; you're certainly made of clever stuff. The piece you did on the dragon bones we returned to Kohlingen was particularly inspired."
The Shadovar takes a long drink of his wine...
"I'm curious as to how your adventure with us will progress. We might not have all the luxuries you're accustomed to yet, though I imagine your mind must be buzzing with the opportunity. It's not often a writer gets a chance to record history as it happens, much less from the...often hidden perspective. We're certainly different from Cordor, but at least it won't be dull."

Last evening after most had left the throne room, the dark dragonkin had stepped to the center of the long table, removed one glove and placed a colder than normal hand on the stone which rested in its jewelry box. A repeat of the previously heard screech came from the relic, accompanied by the same vision as before.
Any left in the room might have noticed the dragonkin did not recoil, but instead seemed to withdraw into herself becoming immobile and unresponsive.
After nearly an hour she seemed to return to herself, finding the throne room empty except for the guard and phantom. She eyed the phantom, as if wrestling with some decision and then pulled her glove back on as she left the room - murmuring on her way down the stairs about all things being connected by the Void.
She stopped briefly at the Castellan's office to scrawl a single line on a piece of parchment and departed for the Plane of Shadow.

More so than usual, the small Green Disciple can be seen scurrying around the various Courts. She would sometimes disappear for hours, to return with large collections of wood.

Certain wiry elf often may be seen digging in the wast library of Tarkuul. Or tinkering in labs, making weird mechanical or magical devices. Minding his own business, he rarely talks with mots of residents of the Risen City.

It seems with changes of the city moving that new faces have been drawn to Tarkuul. For what purpose is unknown but it is clear that this man is indeed new. He does not seem to speak much and instead goes about much of his own business. His agenda is unknown and he seems to be looking around the city often, for what is also unknown.
He seems to often be seen in the tavern though more than anything. Reading letters and drinking a pint of ale. Though never speaks much but has become regular enough that when he lays down his gold the bar keep knows what to pass. Every now and then a smirk can be seen from the corner of his hood. For now though it seems he is just another face passing through.

Iim'mur'ss often keeps to the shadows when moving back and forth from the Plane to Tarkuul. Whether lounging concealed on the dias, or actively moving through various buildings she watches and listens. Having seen the new arrival now multiple times she considers making herself known at their next encounter.

Calypso spends her time mostly with a basic schedule she follows to the letter of her own discipline.
Upon waking and doning her uniform and well before sunrise she makes her way to the library studying up on the basics of fermentation and distillation. Having always been an avid drinker and never really finding anything noteworthy and to her standards she studies up on different types of beverage recipes.
Next, she goes and drills herself, more of a shadow drill per se, on how to operate the intricate balista shown to her by the Castellan, her main purpose is notably in timing herself to the point the loading and "firing" of the Balista is next to second nature it seems to never be good enough as she continues to push herself harder to beat her last time and oft times does. Any that wish to learn in the early hours of the morning she'll instruct with a hands off instructional, without actually firing the weapon or working with any of the intricate mechanical parts.
After concluding any lessons and hard core timed drills she gets to work on the fermenting barrel Dill had spoke to her about. She can be seen working with wood at the carpentry area in the court of the living and then moving over by the forge and working alongside Havok for the metal parts needed.
Lastly her training regiment starts. She takes stance looking out over the ocean near the entry gate working on various combat maneuvers of a martial nature drilling herself in weapon drill warm ups working to add in an attack here or there whenever possible as she goes over what she had seemingly learned and reflected on the day before. She does all this training in silence with possible a few noises that one generally makes in combat. --Unbeknowst to any and all that see the initiate she takes note and a brief description of -everyone- that enters into the city, of course she does this at all times but makes special effort of it whilst by the gate, her eyes peering through the slits of her helm make accurate notes of those passing by. If she knows them she'll stop and speak with them, otherwise, she simply nods and greets them offering to assist in directing them around the city.
Concluding her routine and after warm up she returns back to the castle changes out of her uniform in the afternoon and goes out to various known hostile areas testing any new maneuvers she might have learned or discovered. She'll go at this well into the night then returns getting a few hours of rest and is back at it the next day.//send a pm or shoot me a tell if we don't just randomly cross paths and you need something.

Luca would smile gratefully at Draco's offer to help, approaching the mage with a sheaf of sketches. He speaks in quiet tones, before leaving the tiefling with the papers and vanishing into the shadows. He seems to make himself scarce around the City, all but removing himself from the daily politics and business. He sleeps and takes his meals in the Temple of Shadow, and only emerges to put in a few hours of manual labor on the City's construction. If any come looking for him, he is simply impossible to pry from the darkness.

To whom it may concern,
I offer the services of divine-blessed wand making to the residents of the city. *Wand quality and enchantment quality may vary.

Gerald can be seen inspecting the throne room for a moment before nodding to himself. "I need four more sentinels in here." he seems to say to no one in particular, or perhaps to the entire room.

It would appear that Lucius finally took the job of the Lorekeeper seriously as he is seen working tirelessly on enriching the library of Tarkuul and categorizing the old, dusty tomes. Unusual for himself, he is quite often absent from the Living City as of late, though upon his return he would be seen carrying various scrolls and artifacts.

Bill Hurst is surprised by Luca appearing like so, enough that he spills his drink on his extra large clothing! However, despite the initial shock, he does his best to remain cordial for the conversation. He takes especially well to Luca's complimenting of one of his articles. "Oh! Yes indeed! And what a stupendous event it was! My! I do love to capture what it is that makes such events so great on the printing press! What a fantastic coming together of the city states of Amia! Oh, how lovely Joseph Maximillian's speech was... may the gods look after him now...” Hurst momentarily has a look of sad longing, but quickly returns to his jovial, friendly mood. “Oh!” Hurst gives a nervous chuckle. “Ah, I wouldn't call it an adventure, it's living life to it's fullest! And I must compliment what you have here in the Kraken here. I never imagined mushroom made meals to be so inspiring and delicious! It was truly a treat for those in Cordor, I find that this place has it's wondrous spleandors too!” He takes a pause to take another sip. “But opportunities, oh! I can certainly see many here! Why, once Gerald has the printing press he generously recovered repaired, I'd be more than happy to make a lovely article about this place! Silence... that's the worst thing. The silence where no one thinks or talks about what's most important, and I think that the proper communication of the island's city states is important indeed! Why, to write and write, with a shuff shuff shuff, whirr whirr, STAMP, I'd be most honored to make a fantastic piece about your lovely home!” Underneath the friendly attitude though, Hurst certainly looks very afraid, intimidated...

As of late three dark figures can be seen frequently in Tarkuul.
A female duergar slides from room to room examining scrolls and bookshelves, pulling out any that seem to catch her interest, reading them, making notes on parchment then sanding and sliding the page in a leather case, finally returning them to the exact spot where she had removed it from. Though extremely unappealing with her sharp features, slightly large teeth, spikey red hair and general appearance of being unwashed she studiously studies day after day, her general unwelcoming manner and rude, snide comments keeping all but the most determined from disturbing her in any manner. She treats each page, and book as if they are treasures of great worth, taking great care with them. When forced to leave for awhile if it were not for the sharp smell of decay none would note her having ever been there, yet she returns after only a few hours and returns to studying, not seeming to need rest from her pursuit.
A male duergar with thick muscles and dirty, heavy, well-crafted armor walks through with determined angry strides. Daily, he can be seen swaggering into the libraries to speak to the female, speaking Dwarven quietly most day, quite heatedly others. Each time ending the same with the male turning sharply and stalking out the door clearly not please with the conversation. Then generally either vanishes into the portal, or speaks with the second male then vanishes.
The third duergar is also a male but there is something different about this one. His manners are more polished, his stride steady and commanding as his hard clever eyes surveys various projects and areas. He speaks with numerous people throughout the town, asking question and haggling with merchant or meeting with various drow. Though cleaner, more talkative, and seemingly more approachable then the other two, he speaks as one who is use to being in command. Throughout the day he will come and go, sometimes motioning the other male to follow, other times finding the female and motioning her to follow. Both do so without question though the female will grumble and complain about the interruption.

After his little chat with Hurst, the reclusive Castellan seems to at least make himself and his stalking talents useful. Each evening he returns to the Ghostly Kraken bearing as much wild game as his bags of holding can contain, all of it strangely frozen and peppered with black shafted arrows. Boar, venison, turkey, pheasant, rabbit and alligator seem to be the common items, though occasionally he'll come back with bursting bags full of frozen wild aurochs culled from the far north. The people of Tarkuul eat well thanks to the archer, though he doesn't seem inclined to join the meals.

For the past few days, soon after Tarkuul's arrival to the Commonwealth's shores, Cordor's local priest of Oghma has been seen frequently in the library. Despite the proximity of the two settlements, he invariably travels by portal. He seems to be going through the shelves one by one, making notes in a quarto-sized, cheaply-bound book as he progresses. He's also asking visitors to the library if they find it easy to use and if there are some improvements they'd like to see.
He seems to keep a polite distance to the more grotesque, rotting or generally spooky inhabitants, though.

*Often seen in the library with his nose in a book, Draco would greet the newcomer. Acting pleasant enough despite his devilish appearance, when asked about the library he answers.*
"I have come to have an idea where most things are because of all the time I've spent here. To someone new to the library it might seem a little confusing. There are some tomes that seemed to have been put in the wrong section when looking at the other books around it. I blame the visitors improperly returning the books to their respective shelves. This could be remedied if there was a visible indicator of what books should go where. At very least it would make it manageable."

The High Captain's corpse can be seen being carried into the city by a construct summoned by Naltyrr, the Lord Commander of the Nece'perya Vanguard. He has a massive, gaping hole in his forehead and appears to be missing his left leg at the knee. After a time he returns, alive, but missing his left leg. The hole in his forehead appears to be rather badly scarred over.

Tarkuul appears to have a new resident in the waters, a giant squid-like creature roams around the waters beneath. Unresting, unfeeding... And Undead.
"A gift from me, to the city..." Spoke Laura quietly as she looked over the waters at her creation.
---
Hours passed, the Necrophant was seen entering the Temple of the Vaunted with the High-Arcanist. After some discussion, the Necrophant sought out Ramin Marines, asking for a few words quietly aside...

Another new face seems to have arrived in the city, one that some may see as a blessing, or others might worry could be a sign of judgement to come.
She walked through the Court of the Living, looking around the area, frequently peering over the edges to gaze into the water. Her dyed shiny blue hair breezing in the sea wind. The occasional gust of air or crash of waves against the city seemed to catch her attention.
She could sometimes be seen out of her armour in skin-tight blue-green clothing. A flowing blue cloak with trimmings of white fur around the edges, running down her back. She made trips around the city, standing at times dangerously close to the edge. She kept pulling out a vile that hung around her neck, holding it in her hand and praying. The vile, for anyone that might get close enough to see, contained murky green water, with what appeared to be a finger bone in it.
She would end her day bowing before a certain shrine in the Court of the Living, casting a blessing on it. When dressed in her armour, it was clear what she was. The same symbol upon that shrine was on the chest of her armour as well. A blue-green wave curling left and right.
After it's dramatic voyage through the seas and appearance in Cordor waters, perhaps it was inevitable for the floating city. A priestess of the Bitch Queen has come.

Greyweaver wrote: Calypso spends her time mostly with a basic schedule she follows to the letter of her own discipline.
(completed)
Having completed the barrel she was working on. She now uses her time at the forge working on what could only be described as lead boxes. She makes three in total two identical simple lead boxes and one box slightly more intricate in that it has a divider down the center seperating the box into two compartments left and right. Other than this minor difference they are the same. Simple hinged boxes with a latch that goes over a "U" shaped hoop in which a lock can be placed to secure it. These boxes seem to have priority to anything else she's doing at the forge. When placed side by side there is no difference in there appearance. Having worked with it before she decides to go ahead and insert a "blank" sheet of mithril inlayed on the top of each should anyone wish to cast an enchantment on the tops they can. With the boxes being soft lead the mithril inlays can easily be removed if not needed.
She apparently has made some adjustments to her full plate during recent repairs due to being trampled on. Anyone can note that her appearance in her full plate is much more darker and menacing.

Gerald can be seen speaking briefly with the Captain of the Moorhound company before leaving for Cordor. When he returns, he returns to greet the arriving refugees from the West and Central Cordor.
"Citizens of Cordor, it is with a distinct pleasure that I welcome you to the Living City; to my home. Your well being will be watched after by the Living Guard as well as the Living City and its Sentinels. You are welcome to come and go as you please, despite what some would have you believe. Tarkuul has no claim on your lives. We do ask, however that in the coming days you assist us in helping you build new lives for yourselves. Longhouses in the Courts of our city will be constructed as we clear rock from our newest Court, and tents will be provided as a temporary measure. You will be fed, watched over and provided with the opportunity to find gainful employment here should you chose it. I would like to personally offer those of you looking to assist in protecting your families the chance to apply to the Living Guard, as well as those of you looking to better yourselves through study of the Art to apply to study in the Magisterium Mortis, our magical academy.
These entities are crucial to the structure of our city, as a functioning guard force that can act in the defense of the city, and the other as our magical academy overseeing most of the magical advancements you will find here in the coming days.
There are other opportunities for those of you who do not desire to be a part of either of these organizations, and you will be given every chance to meet your full potential. Today you find new lives - tomorrow you hae new futures."
And with little more fanfare than that, Gerald dissappears through the portal to Shadowscape, presumably to procure supplies.

"Welcome to the Living City. Please follow me and soon you shall be allocated into the houses where dry clothes and warm meal are awaiting for you. Let the head of each family register his family name and the count of his family members so that we could accommodate you according to your needs."Welcomed in the Living City by the High Arcanist, who has apparently decided to dress in a more suitable fashion, the 1400 commoners of Cordor were put down on a list by the family name and the family member count and allocated in the appropriate facilities in the Court of the Living. In the Ghostly Kraken they were given a free drink and a meal on the bill of the Watcher Kuria.

The following has been posted newly around the Court of the Living, in the wake of a refugee population. -The Living Guard- --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Living Guard is having an open recruitment drive to all looking to pledge themselves to the service of the City, their families, and their fellow guardsmen. Those who seek to protect the ones they love, become stronger, or advance their goals through service to the Living City are desired. The Guard offers training in a variety of fields ranging from martial weapons combat to stealth, infiltration tactics, and even the arcane itself! But you may be asking yourself " What are the benefits of the guard that I will see?" Well those most immediate benefits include: - Specialized training
- Comissioned salary
- Potential for advancement
- A place inside the structure of the Living City
- Guarenteed living quarters in the barracks
- Various fringe benefits offered only to members of organizations within the Living City
Come to the High Captain's office at the top floor Tower of the Damned today, register and become part of something better, and be better for it. In service to the Living City, High Captain Gerald Edmund

*In the early hours of the morning, the portal to Shadowscape sees extensive use as numerous shady-looking humans begin carrying barrels, crates and other large containers through, stacking them in a corner of the Court of the Undying. A woman with a clipboard oversees the process, keeping watching of the transported goods (whatever they are) until the moving is done. At that point, she addresses any present member of the Living Guard, or (if none are present) the Unliving Guard.
"Please bring down High Captain Gerald Edmund, or another member of the Council to sign off on this shipment from Onyx Shadowborne."
*That done, she waits patiently, frowning disapprovingly at any curious individuals trying to get too close to the shipment.*

The High Captain could be seen promptly signing for the shipment, almost as though he had been waiting for it. He has them directed to the Trade Hall in the castle and thanks the woman.

Deep in the Temple of the Vaunted, in one of the storage rooms, a door is locked shut and a sign on the door reads; Do not enter without protection from death-magic or negative energy.
-Necrophant Jarshall. Deep inside, the Necrophant - with the assistance of her Wheep - is working on studying a particular urn, which seems to bear a palpable aura of negative energy.

With a satisfied nod and a feint smile, the High Arcanist knocked on the doors of the storage, waiting for the Necrophant to answer.

The door is opened by the Wheep, it stared blankly at the high arcanist before moving out the way, allowing him entry. The door is closed behind him - if he chose to enter - and he is met shortly by the Necrophant, whom offered a nod, then after a short chat, returned to her study.

The people from Cordor seem to get along reasonably well with their new accommodations, all things considered. Many of them however, still look fearful or just plain miserable, at the moment the shock of whatever they've been through hasn't worn off completely. While they do busy themselves getting registered and set up, a lot of them still look uncertain. Many of them spend time in the tavern, the more brave among them getting acquainted with the regulars and residents, but most simply keeping to themselves. They also tend to avoid the more obvious, scary-looking undead around Tarkuul, which they find them rather unsettling.
Bill Hurst however, is sure to make his presence known to them, and it has a notably calming effect as they see the portly man in good cheer. He's sure to go on and on with his very journalistic speeches of questionable accuracy. He spends as much time as he can explaining the good hand out points, in between his near hourly requests to know the status of the repairs on his printing press, as well as routine visits to the chef, and his regular six large meals a day.
On off hours, several of the Cordor citizens read the notice about the Living guard over and over, debating among themselves as to what to do. It seems there definitely is interest, but some remain uncertain if they want to rush to a decision. Still, some of them are seen going off to write applications...

Word would be sent to Bill Hurst that his prized printing press was repaired by the able hands of one of the Necrophants. The printing press itself is in superb condition again, looking as if it had never been damaged in the first place.

When he is not on Moribund working the Keeper as always keeps to himself mostly, either working in court of the dead on one building or he recides in his office. However with the change of living within the city he takes some time to see if any are ill or hurt otherwise, offering them healing and aid. He also asks around if any of them are good with building construction and interested in work.

Over the last few days the newest Centurion of Tarkuul is seen toting a hefty ledger around the city, making sure to track down each and every individual of the 1400 Cordorian Immigrants now present in Tarkuul. She doesn't waste much time, seemingly ensuring that each one provides a brief profile of their skills; former field of employment in their old home state; and what field they wish to work in.
She makes it clear that there is gainful employment to be had outside the military, and if any are having trouble they should contact her, although also mentions that the Living Guard provides superior benefits to most other work.

The Centurion would be halted in her attempts by the Keeper himself, a brief reminder that the people are refugees from hard times and could use some time to themselves.

A dark haired woman, garbed in purple, gold and black, would be seen lingering around the city and the library as of late. She seemed to be seeking particular informations, but doesn't share what her business is with anyone...
