1,As Uberuce said, INT 8 is very low. I would get at least concentration, tumble. If you have any plans on engaging pvp - spot (this could get it very high). Spellcraft just enough for EMD. And 15 umd for scrolls and wands is nice too. INT according these needs (considering race/subrace).
2,12 dex and 16 con are rather high as mentioned above too
3,You can go pure cleric, but the best summons are at 27 caster level and it's not necessary to go above, unless you need feat at 29. Still just one level of class to spend skills in is good.
4, If you are concerned about KD, you could have just take class with UMD and buy scrolls of improved invis. But it's great spell since early levels too. I would prefer taking domain with haste and ditch all quicken feats, but it's up to you.
5, I think Epic spell penetration is not needed at 27 levels, but there might be different opinions.
6, Extended spell is always good.
7, Consider zen archery just for fun. But Cleric with 14 str and without weapon focuses can melee very well too. Toughness is not necessary if you want to invest in CON.

29 cleric / 1 ranger. Take the ranger level at the end for the bonus Epic Spell Focus feat and then pump up your Spot, take Epic Spot, and enjoy no shadowdancer ever being able to sneak up on you.

Ok so my ranged rogue build did not work so well so i scraped that one and did a redo, albeit with a different name. My new rogue uses 2 daggers instead of a bow and so far he has been doing way better then the previous one. My question is... should i take shadowdancer or assassin later? Both give good abilities to rogues and make good stealth specialist but which one would be better?

Those are two completely different classes. Assassin has various tools/skills to deal more damage or inflict status ailments while Shadowdancer is a little safer option and lets you get Sneak Attacks off without having to cornersneak.

If you're caster, Druid28/Rogue1/Ranger1 is probably the most popular caster druid build. It can be full spellcaster, dragonshaper, or both. It gets all the necessary feats and skills and can level self-reliantly from 3 to 30. It's by far one of the smoothest rides in town, but includes a lot of standing back and debuffing enemy spawns with a limited spell arsenal. Zen Archery is also nice for a ~50 dmg/round, and I'd imagine the reworked Blood Frenzy is a decent addition to that. It's a lot similar to a caster cleric, in fact, with more standing about until Dragonshape kicks in.

Dragons get STR 48, WF, EWF, +5 weapon and immunity to sneak, mind-affecting, paralysis, and True Seeing. I doubt that is the Bioware True Seeing, but it's still a whole lot of Spot if you boost the skill, which you well should do.

All in all, that is BAB 20 + STR modifier 23 + Enchantment 5 + WF and EWF 3 + Blood Frenzy 5 + Aid and Bless 2 = 58 AB, which is utterly fearsome and lasts for 56 rounds with Aura of Vitality and Blood Frenzy extended. Don't know about the breath weapon, but reckon it's stellar against creatures with elemental vulnerabilities.

AC should be Basic 10 + DEX modifier 17 + Tumble 6 + Barkskin 5 + Deflection 5 (from Armor bonus AC as I think that's converted into Deflection AC when shapeshifted) = 43 AC, which is not terrible for PvM, though it isn't great either. But you let your pets do most of the tanking, anyway. And I might be missing something.

That's about right but the main drawback is your size. It's fearsome with all the lights going and you can have KD or IKD in some of the builds, which works splendidly with all that AB and size. But try going through a door, down a hallway, or shapechanging inside the Pirate Ship.

You also get snagged on literally anything and everything with that big fat dragon ass. There's nothing more annoying than getting hung up on a twig, while the melee is swirling about you and you cannot reach it. A twig. You should be able to rip the entire tree out of the ground and use it as a toothpick or torch it to a small pile of cinder, but a tiny root prevents you from moving. My blood pressure rises just thinking about it. For the investment, which is substantial, you'd think it would be less annoying. I think it does have Bioware TS though.

There is a way around this, but it involves 5 DCs and requires you to use the new delayed skinchanger widget before every shift, meaning less time to "snap-shift"!

Question: Do spells cast from items/wands/scrolls take on character level or highest caster level for purpose of dispelling as potions do or does it take the caster level of the item/wand/scroll?

EDIT: Probably should have asked this in general questions but too late I guess and the answer could in theory influence a build.

There any reason to go past 25 ranks in tumble or spellcraft? I thought I red where the bonus for these skills were capped at +5.

Also, is animal empathy worthwhile? If maxed out how much more empathy do you need to be consistent with it?

Tumble is +1 AC for every 5 base tumble (items and I believe feats don't increase the amount for gaining AC), making the max possible at 6ac for 30tumble

Spellcraft is +1 saves vs spells every 5 spellcraft, including feats and items. The cap may be at +20 (100 spellcraft), or it may be uncapped, I cant remember.

The cap is +20 and is overridden by an saves on gear. For instance, if you have 100 Spellcraft for the +20 bonus and have a +4 fort cloak, you're only benefiting +16 from Spellcraft.

To be nitpicky, it also gets capped in conjunction with the Vs Specific bonuses on some items, so an item like the Greater Belt of Guiding Light with its +4 vs Fear would cap you out against casting of Weird, Fear, Warcry etc if you had 80 Spellcraft but no other saving throw gear. In that case, any universal or Will saves gear would go towards the cap.

I personally reckon those ones shouldn't cap because they're so narrow in use, but hey ho , they do.

The DC is 15+ the level of an animal, and 19+level for magical beasts.

I would guess the highest level animals around are the frosty parts of Brog, probably in the ECL30-40 range, so 50-60AE will always get by even in combat. Well, the actual highest level animal around is the Abominable Snowbeast, but it was very deliberately made immune to it.

The skill just got a massive buff in ease of use last week, with the implementation of that script that has them be non-hostile for some time before looking up and sniffing the air. That gives oodles of time to take 20 because you're not in combat, assuming you've not just run straight from a previous mob.

Thus, you can snag yourself 1300HP worth of walking bombshelter in the form of the MegaBison. They don't hit hard, so you might prefer the Arctic Manticores which are much less robust but do pack a decent Sneak Attack. If you can keep them alive(and more to the point if your character is mean enough to want anything but instant euthanasia for them) the Skinned Sabretooths are brutalis maximus.

At mid level, there's those pooches in Khem, and down at lowbie you've got various dogs and Swamp gators and so on.

Anyway, yes, it's a good skill.

Do potions roll on the basis of CL for dispel? Didn't even know that, and I cannot find any mention of such from the nwnwiki. Always thought it functions on the caster level of the item.

Naivypoo: Essentially the same. The only even slightly notable difference being SA +1. If you want to go 29/1, Bard is better as it nets all the crucial skills.

Yeah, Bioware screwed it up. I think it works for wands and scrolls, too, but can't be certain.

I think it works for wands and scrolls too but I'm more interested in items. My current character has been collecting various items that cast certain spells per day so he doesn't have to depend on an exhaustible potion supply. (I kept forgetting to buy more and had a few times when I couldn't afford more) Just rest and you have more uses. Anyway, I would like to know if it works like potions because sometimes it would be better to drink a potion than to risk it being dispelled by, for example, mindflayers.

do the skills in the toolkit effectively replace death attack?.....

can one abstain from using the toolkit and use the standard nwn death attack if he or she chooses?

I had a concept in mind for a nigh pure barbarian goblin with a little rogue thrown in(aren't all goblins a bit roguish)...basic strategy is to make use of terrifying rage and stab things... rogue should cover my bases with a little extra ac and umd for skill dumps...can anyone help me refine this and make it work? my main concern is the penalties goblins suffer in regards to the stats
I need to make it work (namely str)

Race: goblin
stats: ?????
level split: 29 barbarian/1 rogue

prefer 2 handed...most likely scimitar

Flip those two around maybe? I don't think you can take improved critical before level 8. I might even go epic skill focus: Taunt instead of Intimidate.

You can make a smaller model, resized models have naturally smaller "nudge boxes", which prevent large/huge monsters moving through some areas. It's why the EDK summons were resized.

Does the EDK resizing work? I see the original sized halo around them when you've got Tab depressed and assumed the engine was really seeing that. Given the weirdness of NWN, I am perfectly willing to accept it works perfectly and that the full-size thingmy is just there because of Mister Torgue Flexington's REASONS.

In regards to unarmed monks, how difficult is the gearing process? You lose access to the +6 Dex glove epics because of the need to use those +5-6 AB gloves, so I'm concerned about hitting 20 AC from gear and having... any stats at all, really.

Are there decent epic wis/dex items about, and can any of them be further enchanted?

Difficult.

Imagine you need +4 AC on every item. And also +10 STR / +10 DEX / +10 WIS and +10 CON to max your character out properly.
Then you want to get some 38-39 Fortitude...

Here's something to compare to - My pc Hashim Hoios.
This pc is equipped with -every single epic item- that drops on amia (PLUS some grandfathered shit!) and he still can't get enough to max out everything he needs gear-wise. And he's a STR focused WM - It can't get easier then that to gear up!

Imagine what kind of gear your monk will need ... :|

I would go for just +8 stats and con doesn't have to be maxed necessarily. Potions will 50% of time get you +4 or more. So unless you need to use just one potion per stat, getting +10 isn't necessary.

But it will be difficult.

That leaves +5AC +3DEX boots, uh... two open ring slots (I know of +3 WIS rings), an open helmet, a +WIS or DEX belt, and... the rest would be monk gloves and +5 AC Robe/Cloak/Necklace. I wouldn't cap out unless I can mythal some stats spattered around.

Less concerned about my damage due to the RP of it

Does the EDK resizing work?

Yes, I've hunted with Prismatics and Silvers, the resize allows them to fit through doorways now.
