Anyone know for sure if the Damage Resistance 5/- you can apply to an object using a Divine Mythal stacks with Barbarian Damage Reduction? The wiki's and other information out there seem to indicate they do stack, but I just wanted to make sure.

If it's 5/- Slashing or Bludgeoning or Piercing then it will stack. Used to run around in my Barb24 dude getting 10/- all the time, thanks to Barb23's 5/- and a combination of Enkidu's Plate and something that gave 5/- Blunt.

I've got no idea. I would assume it's all physical damage.

It should; to mean that if it doesn't its a bug. Though barb DR doesn't seem as reliable as item DR (it doesn't seem to fire all the time).

Though I did not use mine for crafting, when I went about asking which ones stacked, I was told that this one would.

I would still wait for an official DM/someone who has used it for that to comment, mind!

It will stack with damage reduction (5/- slashing or the like), but not with damage soak. (AKA +3 soak 10, stoneskin, etc)

Did you mean 'all of it is physical damage' or 'it is all of the physical damages' because the latter isn't an item property; best as I know you have to specify the type.

I just realized this. I thought it was some sort of straight damage reduction, but upon looking at it, it's only for one particular type (3 physical, or one of the 6 elemental.) Which actually kind of sucks, considering it's one power, and takes one stone to do any one of those.

If you want my opinion when it comes to Divine Mythals, until the MCS has its rework (which has been mentioned a few times it's in the process of) the only good thing they bring is the DC-20 OnHit is basically every single OnHit power there is. While you'd be relying on 1s most of the time, it's useful in making a unique signature weapon. Otherwise, either save for IC implementation, sell or keep a hold of it for the rework.

While we're on DR, I dunno if this ever got addressed but Perfect Mythals give higher DR bonuses than Flawless Mythals. Is this intended?

I believe that's due to, property wise not market wise, Perfect are bigger, heavier and more powerful than Flawless, though Flawless are technically more rare.

Ok! Just wanna be sure on that. In my minds eye I considered flawless to be more powerful, but perfect can be more powerful in my mind's eye too. I got great vision coverage...in my mind.

Yeah, I'd only disagree that perfect are sought after by (pseudo)/casters for those spell slots, but it's due to:

Minor/Lesser/Intermediate/Greater/Flawless/Perfect/Divine

Weighing

0.5/5.5/10.5/15.5/30.5/50.5/100.5 respectively.

Yeah, the on-hit powers are pretty neat in their variety, and the DC (being 20) isn't horrible, even though you're still basically just hoping for a 1. But the scarcity of available slots means you're gimping your weapon in some way just for that slim chance, and overall I don't think it ends up being anywhere near worth it. I guess I'll just hold onto it. Maybe put it on a big chain and wear it around my neck as some nice bling.

personally i think they should make it so it goes like this:
Greater (Dc 14, weak on hits such as silence or bleed), Flawless(dc 18's, stuff like blindness and doom effects) , Perfect(Dc 20's), Divine(Dc 25 or something as divines are INCREDIBLY rare and usally only given by Dm's.)

or maybe you could just have say... A dm help make an item with an increased DC.

They are /only/ able to be obtained via DMs, in terms of their origins.

Yeah, it was an event where a wealthy lord violated me by putting his mailed fist all the way up my coin-purse, ripping my soft pouch at the seams, as he deprived me of the riches held therein. :)

I've noticed they've become a bit more popular in recent weeks than they have previously been. Has the 'standard' for the reward dropped to something actually achievable?

Only a bit? They're pretty much worthless at the mythal forges, most of what you can get from them just isn't worth it when you can sell/trade them for 2-4 epic pieces of equipment.

I'm highlighting this as a certain PC who bought Captor's isn't using it for typical enchantment, keep in mind that there are other, non-hardcoded uses for these.

True. A divine Mythal is 100.5 lbs (45.5kgs) of solid magic. Just think of what you could do...
