A note is left out by the front gates, along with a long sign up sheet. Quote: Attention all Dale folk!
Construction on the new defense tower is soon to be underway, led by the good engineers of our Militia and the newly minted Magewright Guild. I ask all Dale folk with a strong back, and a desire to see our people safe to pitch in and lend a hand in the coming days.
All materials have been provided to us through the Guldorand trade agreement, we have enough timber and granite to build us some nice defenses. Weapons to outfit the tower are still being procured by the Office of the Treasury, but we won't have anywhere to use them from until this is built!
Any and all hands willing to work on the defenses are encouraged to put their names below. Even if you're not that skilled, we still need strong hands to help us handling materials!
~Treasurer Jannah D.B. Vindle.

A (very) small section of the Hinn Inn finds itself taken over by a desk and a lockbox which appears to be meant for correspondence.
Though the lockbox has since been shared with General Nof for the next ambassador to take over.

A message finds its way to Nof.
Esteemed General Mayor of Bendir Dale,
The War Council has offered to send a liaison to evaluate our defenses and to draw up a plan of suggestions for improvement. They appointed Thegn Whurak of Barak Runedar to oversee this, provided the assistance is welcome. We should meet up to talk about the rest of the matters discussed at the Council!
Soon!
Ambassador Pebburry 'Pebbles' Oldfur, Anointed Queen of Bendir Dale

May I ask permission to use my shape stone, move earth, and earth elemental to reshape the bedrock under the tower to create a more firm foundation for it? //Shape Stone is Sor/Wiz 4, 10 cubic feet of stone can be shaped, +1 per relevant caster level. Bringing mine up to 21 cubic feet. I can cast up to 5 such spells per day, giving me 105 cubic feet of stone shaping each day. //Move Earth is Sor/Wiz 6, full information is here: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Move_Earth. If I have my hood on, I can cast it 3 times a day. //My Lesser Earth Elemental is being used to guide and shape the spells so as to avoid any nasty accidents. This process would take several days, would move the bedrock below the walls upwards to create a more firm foundation for the tower, would also move the displaced earth so it wouldn't cause any problems, and because it's done over a period of days rather than moments, no risk to the surrounding structures or walls would be risked. Especially with an earth elemental assisting in guiding the spells. If I have your permission, I'll begin work on this project immediately.

Hello friends of Frugdar! Frugdar is wondering if anyone would like the goblin, that's squatting on the mountain south of the Dale, removed.
Either way, Frugdar is wondering if he can set up his tent-home there, opposite of the goblin, and help protect the Dale or be a handyman.
Officials reply only please.
-Frugdar, Son of Bjorgen

I'd like to decline said request. Being the reason is you are actively violent, and you living so close to the Dale seems like a bad choice on both your part, and my part if I'd allow it.

Why do you hate Frugdar so much, Kerim? Frugdar hasn't done anything to you, and has always loved the Dale.
Still waiting for more voices from General Nof, Theadric, and Jannah Vindel, and any other official who'd like to weigh in.

I do not hate or dislike you. But I don't like the choices you make. The biggest issue I have with you being near the Dale is causeing the deity issue. Something like that to close to the Dale can frighten all the citizens.

What Kerim said.
You're on the ban list for a reason and I am not giving permission to settle on our lands to someone who's banned. That wouldn't make a lot of sense. Banned means not welcome in the Dale even if we don't actively chase you off at this point.
Besides, you work for Tarkuuls living guard so why don't you settle there?
And yes Jamian, he was. Thanks to Yondalla no one who didn't ask for it was hurt in that event.

The Goblin is old, and has never been a threat to anyone. Everyone knows he's there, and no one has ever complained. Leave the thing be, and let it die in peace, alone, like it seems to prefer.

I don't mind our residents speaking their concerns in cases such as these Theadric. We all live in the Dale after all and I prefer to know our residents oppinions about an issue.
I don't mind politely offered oppinions of visitors either but anominous notes are another case entirely. Feel free to remove those but don't throw them away, they make good kindling after all.
Besides, this wasn't very official anyway.

Considering the fact he's using an earth elemental to help guide him as he does, I'd recommend allowing him to go ahead.

This should make life easier to build the tower during the process. It'll allow the tower to be built according to plan, with the structure and position. I'm sure Jamian has all the measurements down too so everything should run smoothly. I'd say it's safe to cast those two spells. They both can shape, move, bend like softclay and smooth waves rather than dismantling the earth destructively. Although it'll mean quite a bit of rumbling i'm sure that's not something big!
Also, I know a wizard who is very skilled in geomancy. He'll be able to help out if he accepts!

Prove yourself an asset to the people of the Dale especally in the department of sound judgement.
Headbutting stones and baiting dangerous entities into killing you doesn't show much of a capability to make sound judgements. Or perhaps way too much impulsiveness with your common sense acting up too late in response.

Greetings!
I got complaints from some taller about the throwing around of magics on dale lands and have seen more then a little of it myself. Most of it is fine but not all of it. So I thought I'd make my stance clear on tossing magics around.
In town: Don't use magic unless it's absolutely necesarry or a really really good prank that doesn't cause damage or hurts anyone. Mind that tallers tend to appreciate a good prank less then most residents do. Also, really, really good pranks take much preparation and are generally not spur of the moment. They also come rarely. Enraging someone to the point of him or her attacking you shows very poor judgement on your part.
Out of town on Bendir land: Don't block or hinder passing carts (That one is especially for you Doodlekins!) Don't hurt anyone, don't cause damage, don't goad tallers into fights. Mind your area of effect spells. Keep the pranks funny and not harmfull. Other then that have fun. Tossing grease at each other for one I don't mind outside town but a taller getting a layer of grease on his new armor or fine clothes may not be so happy about it so mind your aim or compensate them after you accidently hit them.
A note to those that dislike magic being used this way: Avoid Dale lands or stay inside the walls where magic use is sharply restricted.

Quote: On the 19th of Kythorn, the year of the starving, the man known as Velden was ushered into his final rest.
His obsession of what he had lost was his ultimate undoing. For to have passion is to suffer and suffer he did until he drew his last breath. Foolish and chaotic he seeked to alter the fate of those who had already passed on to their final rest. An endavour I personally could not sit idly by and let him undertake.
I am confident that his passing comes as no surprise to those who read this. Velden had in his mortal life left a wake of many dead and on this day the waves of destruction came crashing back at him. Perhaps past victims and survivors of his deeds can now rest easy knowing they no longer have to fear this man.
Let his end also serve as a reminder that those who have met their final end shall remain in the afterlife, for the Hands of Jergal will reach those who seek to wrong the order of life and death.
Faithfully yours, Grim, Keeper of the Crypts of Tarkuul I got this from some hired taller. Appearantly someone in a crypt in Tarkuul thinks you can't wrong the order of life and death but raising undead everywhere is fine.
