Hey guys! Dark Dreams, aka 'Emerald Snow' here...
I want to take a few minutes to talk about my experience here on Amia, and why I'm here instead of anywhere else. Well, not really talk about it, but give praise (after all, you all know about it, so why talk about it? XD). I know there's a praise thread for this sort of thing, but my gratitude extends beyond whether to praise the staff or the playerbase, so here goes...
Firstly, I want to say thank you to the build and scripting team... from the first concept builder to the present team, you guys have created something truly magnificent. I can log in any time, night or day, and whether there's 60 people on or none at all, I know I won't be bored. This world is the most interactive module I've -ever- seen, and I've bounced around for about ten years. Much kuddos to the build/script team, you guys are the bee's knees! Thank you for this place!
Second, I want to thank the DM/Admin team. You guys are johnny on the spot with everything you do, and in my experience, always keep that professional, yet approachable, DM edge. This is something I can truly appreciate, having DMed on my previous server, The Cormyr / Dalelands Project. Your patience with oddball requests (I've submitted my share) and general positive attitude when addressing concerns is very uplifting to the entire experience, and you do what you do -very- well, and I thank you for that.
Last but -definitely- not least, I want to thank the playerbase. You guys bring this setting to life, and what a life you give it! There are active factions and player-character troupes that one can interact with or become a part of, so many "non-adventurer" occupations that prompt the interactions many of us enjoy, and so many different RP styles, that meeting a new character is a unique adventure in itself, every single time.
The reason this place means so much to me is because I can't get out into the world all that much (I have MS, no worries, please... it's cool, just a thing)... so Amia is pretty much my extended family and circle of friends all rolled into one. Amia is my gateway into a world where I can be anything or do anything... I can go anywhere and explore new places, which is something I used to enjoy IRL. When I walk through a rocky, forested draw and it opens into a grand view of a misty waterfall with all the sounds in the right places and little nuances added in just the right amount, it sometimes literally takes my breath away. When I hear a comical interaction as I walk by, I really do smile, and sometimes laugh. When there's a conflict, my BP rises just a touch and I feel flushed, but still enjoying the experience.
You all bring this to life for me, every time I log in, and that means the world to me... thank you all so very much for making the world I live in.
