As we are nearing the release of the placeable hak update and the release of the L'Obsul update, aimed for mid January, I am going to allow you all a small peek at what is to come. We will only be releasing haks by content. This time, we have a placeable release. In the future, that will be followed by items, tilesets, creatures, etc. In the end, when you visit port cities you can watch as ships actually sail by. Places like Tarkuul can have a great many new arcane goodies, from new VFXs and awesome ritual circles. There are tons of nice new trees, plants and other related goodies to beautify areas like the Grove, Winya Ravena or the Wilderness. New dwarven architecture such as great pillars. Criminal syndicates can have secret rooms behind bookshelves that can actually swing open. We will have beautiful agriculture placeables that can let us make vinyards. Tons of geo-content that is textured in rural, desert, underdark and ice for caverns and stunning wilderness options. We have specific grey-faded content for the shadowplane areas. The list goes on. Bellow I will leave you with a screenshot of new building options, as well as four screenshots of the upcoming L'Obsul update that features some of our new content and has been a project Dusty, Letumn, Yoss and I have been working on for since mid November.

Love those underdark columns! That's something really lacking up top.

They are actually dwarven columns, and just one variant of I think 3 or so. So we can place them anywhere we want, including the surface!

You can thank Anatida for the shadowplane placeables. Polris did also a lot of fantastic inhouse content for us, such as massive stalagtites and stalagmites, Ust'Natha inspired platforms and bridges, placeables for Glim's upcomming dungeon such as cool BG 2 inspired test tubes. Great stuff he put a lot of work in.

For anyone checking out the placeable hak, the following is the hak order for your module: Quote: Amia_v3a_top2 Amia_v3d_top Amia_v3_plc Amia_v3_music Amia_v3_override Amia_v3_skyboxes Amia_v3b_a Amia_v3b_b Amia_v3b_c Amia_v3b_d

Is there a complete list of what is featured in this update, or is that left up to us to discover?

Open the top2.hak with the hak tool in your utility folder in the nwn directory. Export the placeables.2da on your desktop, and open it with the editor. You will have all of the placeables listed. Everything after line 6789 are newly added placeables. You also see their appearance names for the toolset, which allows you to search specifically. But the list is simply too long to post here.

The editor will only open hak files, not the 2da file that is the placeables. I'll just sift through the appearance model list and see what's new, I suppose.

Don't take this as snark, but maybe you guys should consider a disclaimer with this new hak about flashing lights for those who might suffer from epilepsy. The MushFX in particular is very hard on the eyes.

Just a question as I am trying to logg in to Amia A... IT states following: "Missing files: amia_u3_plc.hak, amia_v3a_top.2.hak" I tried downloading new haks from here: http://www.amiaworld.net/update/ And ensured the TLK file is in tlk as it is supposed to... And extracted everything else to hak file. Yet, I can't logg in. Do I have the wrong haks or what is going on?

PrtSc copies your screen. Just paste it into MS Paint.

Magiros wrote: This may sound very odd.. But I have no clue where my screenshots go when I press "PrtSc" button. . . But when I go through the hak file. There certainly is not either of those files. Even when I downloaded and extracted http://www.amiaworld.net/update/amia_v3_plc.zip (211 MB) and http://www.amiaworld.net/update/amia_v3a_top2.zip (0.09 MB) Maybe I downloaded the wrong files? I just downloaded the files from those links to make sure they are in order. Both of them are exactly the right files. If you unzip them with win-war and export them into your hak folder, there is no reason for them not to work.

Hmm.. Now this is odd. I will try re-downloading then. I as well send you the screenie just in case. Though I already checked myself and seem to be lacking the said files.

Alrighty then. Back in game! Not sure what it was, I think it previously did not extract the files out as it was supposed to with my win-rar. Anyhow, took them to separate file and they extracted just fine, from which I moved them to hak-file.
Thanks for helping out Pony and Larsaan! Appreciated!

If you're running a version of Windows that requires you to run NWN in Administrative Mode (Meaning when you click your NWN/Amia shortcut you get a prompt asking permission to run the program), then when you extract something into any NWN folder it won't actually extract it because it reads each of those extracted files as needing Administrative permission again and yet unable to make the "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS?!" Microsoft prompt we all love. It takes it as not having received that permission and denies the extraction.
That's the only explanation I have for what it sounds like happened!

The Update page links were borked. I'm still new to html. It's been fixed now though.
