Hey,

I know the year in Amia is 1383. But what's the name of the year?

Like in the book i'm reading they keep calling it The Year of Lighting Storms.

Year of the Vindicated Warrior.

When are we getting to Year of the Sarcastic Drow?

That was sooooo last year.

Given the Reyes plot, we should rename the year to something more appropriate.

Year of the Folly
Year of the Hubris
Year of the Lack of Meetings
Year of the Zeitgeist

I had planned on suggesting something similar if Amia relocated to another format like Shards Online. I was going to suggest that Amia get so big for its britches that it starts its own AR (Amia Reckoning) and names its own years. :roll:

If we actually do a good job planning a move to a more modern platform, with all its many concessions and inevitable drama, we could definitely become too big for our britches (again). I like to think Amia has been pretty big at times! It may be the right step in terms of 'advertising,' too. Not to hate on NWN and everyone's work, but, it would (probably) have to be done at some point regardless.

Anyways, I support the renaming of the year either way. That plot deserves at least some sort of remembrance. Ha! World-ending calamity, Harper involvement, elven cities disappearing... heyo.

Reys plot, so much blood we could have painted the whole island with it. Ostland with its own blood messes.. And dwarfs fighting whatever creatures came at them.. Elves fighting everyone.

Harptos would've predicted Reyes's fall and named the year in some vague indirect manner. You're not supposed to name the years after an event, the names are supposed to be omens or predictions of potential events!

And the names continue year after year until around 1600 (According to the FR calendar tool). So we've a long ways before we need to start thinking of new names!

That is correct. I interpreted the Year of the Vindicated Warrior to mean "fighters feel vindicated because magicians suck and ruin the world."
