[An elven woman speaks to the entry guards of Cordor and Kohlingen, requesting permission to post copies of the following notices for public reading, or direction to the appropriate authority to obtain it. Additionally, at Barak Runedar, she requests that a copy of the same notice be delivered to Reddok, to be shared with the dwarven council there.]

People of the island of Amia and others concerned,

I do not speak for Winya, but instead write as one elf who humbly asks you spend a moment to read.

Much has been said of the incident in Bendir Dale on 16 Elient where Bladesinger Nyacelil and others from Winya confronted a suspected drow who turned out to be on and a follower of Lloth, verbal dispute with Bendir Dale militia occurred, and ultimately, in fighting that followed, the drow and four humans were killed. So much has been said, in fact, that among many, the truth of what happened seems largely lost, and regardless of what one believes of right or wrong, still more wrong goes on being done as a result.

One greatly troubling wrong is how many seem to spin the tale to assign most or all blame for the deaths that happened to Nyacelil alone, which even a number who counted her as friend hastened to believe and as a result now shun her, having never sought to hear her own telling of what happened and why. As a particular injustice, even a few elves who were not there have spread and helped this wrong telling along, lending seeming credibility to untruths where none is due.

I therefore feel it imperative to write this for you to understand what really happened, as one who was there and involved, now that the councils of Winya Ravana and Bendir Dale have met on the matter.

In truth, while Nyacelil does bear responsibility for deciding, along with two others of us initially, to pursue and confront a suspected drow, who turned out to be a Llothite, onto Bendir Dale lands and an initial argument with Bendir Dale militia over her authority to do so. However, she exercised restraint in doing so, ultimately complied with Bendir Dale militia instructions to leave, sought restraint again when others not of the militia confronted her, and her own actions did not trigger bloodshed.

Instead, three separate acts by individuals, first a foolish toss of confusion grenades by a young impetuous elf who was with us, followed by two human men each separately rushing in alone to attack when no other fighting went on. Each led to separate small fights. In the final of those as many know, a spell cast by Selgoron, a fourth elf not part of initially confronting the drow, killed not just the human man who had sought to fight, but several others nearby, with one of those subdued in the first fight and another either subdued or killed in the second. The drow was also killed in the first fight.

Contrary to what some stories circulating say, Nyacelil neither killed any who fell, nor ordered attack that led to any of the four deaths. She instead was the most restrained of any elf present even when her own control of events was taken away, not fighting when others did, for that was not what she wanted or sought, and she was angered and shouted as much after the indiscriminately killing spell was cast. She then sought to stay to heal or raise those who fallen but was told to leave by Bendir militia, which she and all elves involved did.

To those who yet hold Nyacelil in contempt for not striking down Selgoron for his casting of the spell, even though she thought it tragically unnecessary, to do so would not have raised those already fallen, would not have been justice as most understand it, and would not have prevented further deaths, which did not not happen. Nyacelil was also bound by what all elves faithful to the Seldarine are, that one elf must not kill another. The same would have been true for any elf in her place, and if you believe criticism of that is warranted, then it belongs directed to all elves, not Nyacelil uniquely.

That requirement of elves I understand troubles some who have spoken on what happened, but many of you have your own faiths you hold to, or as member of an order, whether Knight of Kohlingen, War Knight, Cordorian Guard, Brightaxes or Anvil of Barak Runedar, or another, have an oath you swear to. Most among those, I expect, have a different understanding of justice than simply striking down someone for a harm already done.

Now that the Council of Winya has met, I offer you all the same statement I provided to them below, with hope to provide understanding of what really happened to all who were not there. This is my memory only, without addition from anyone else. Where names are mentioned, it is to provide account as completely as I can only, and not to disparage any. None involved should be enemies, and my greatest hope is that healing will come for those feeling aggrieved and those now in regret. The real threats to the people of Amia Island are elsewhere and worse.

I will be glad to speak to any who wish about this, but more importantly still, those of you who have counted Nyacelil as friend and know of the greater good she has done but now doubt her, or just wish to understand what really happened, please do speak to her.

Thank you for your consideration,

[Text of the following letter is attached to the cover notice]

Members of the Winya Council,

I am writing to provide my account of what occurred on 16 Elient in Bendir Dale surrounding confrontation of the Llothite drow who entered the town with his face concealed, and the fighting among elves and humans that followed.

To begin with, beyond sadness over the very regretable outcome of events that day, I am deeply troubled and concerned with what has happened afterward, where some, most regretably including a few fellow elves of our community who were not present, are levying criticism and blame upon Bladesinger Nyacelil based not just upon what occurred, but dangerously also upon falsehoods spoken by others, assumptions, opinions and haste to levy blame that badly distort the truth and the share of responsibility that each of multiple people bear for what happened.

I therefore, as one who was present, involved, and in place through concealment to closely observe all that occurred provide my account of what happened in hope that the Council will seek truth, and seek to dismiss otherwise, in its consideration.

Events began when Nyacelil, Lyelanna and I stood at the river shore north of Bendir Dale's bridge gate. I observed the male, later confirmed without question to be drow bearing tattoos of allegiance to Lloth, closely pass us walking south on the road, and though his face was concealed in a mask-like helm, that concealment, his elven-like build, design of armor, and manner all together created significant suspicion, enough that I quietly called out "drow" to my companions. Nyacelil quickly asked why I believed so, so I shared my reasons with her. This, along with her subsequent look at the male, then passing the bridge gate, led her to call for us to prepare to follow. We each did so, and Nyacelil's preparations included summoning of her gear guardian, and all of us drew and prepared weapons. I assumed concealment and accompanied my two companions south across the bridge.

We found the male standing alone against the east wall of Bendir Dale, about a third of the way from the road bend to the near river shore. (As a note, this place was ideal to observe all from the road bend and cart stops to the river bridge, though I do not know if that was a consideration for Nyacelil at the time.) Nyacelil confronted the male, with Lyelanna to her left and her gear guardian and me, in concealment, to her right. She demanded first that he remove his helm, and when he asked why, Nyacelil stated that she believed him to be a drow. The male responded cautiously and made no attempt to reach for a weapon, and Nyacelil continued her insistence that he remove his helm and asked pointed questions to determine if he was Eilistraeen. He complied with neither, and soon several others nearby at the road bend stopped their other activities to watch, and a male knight, who I learned later was from Kohlingen, drew his sword and shield and moved to stand near the helmed male, insisting that he be left alone.

About the same time, a member of the Bendir Dale militia approached to question what went on. Nyacelil informed the militia man that the helmed male was a suspected drow and sought to have the militia man direct the male to remove his helm. The militia man declined, asserted that he, not Nyacelil had authority, and directed her, and thus us, to leave the suspected male alone and leave Bendir Dale. Nyacelil then insisted that she had authority and obligation as a Bladesinger to confront drow wherever they were. Each verbally countered the argument of the other, and in that Nyacelil asserted that the recent drow raids near Bendir Dale, suspicion that the helmed male was a spy for further raids, and the male's lack of proof that he was Eilistraeen were reason for the militia man to have the male remove his helm, so he could be identified and watched. The militia man and Nyacelil finally agreed to let the suspected drow portal away, with Nyacelil's added warning that he would now be watched. The helmed male, hearing this, announced that he was reaching for his portal wand and began to do so slowly.

I feel it important to note this as a place where Nyacelil's restraint in confronting the suspected drow and dealing with the Bendir Dale militia would have led to resolution without bloodshed. That opportunity was promptly taken away though when, as the helmed male began to reach for his wand, Lyelanna threatened him and insisted he walk from town, rather than portal. The male knight who had taken defensive place near the helmed male also wrong asserted then that we elves would pursue him through the portal if he attempted to leave that way. The suspected drow, as result, abandoned attempt to leave via portal, and after some discussion with the Bendir Dale militia man on which direction each party would leave the town, agreement was reached that the suspected drow would leave south and that we elves would leave also. Nyacelil led us to follow the helmed man south, without further intervention from the Bendir Dale militia.

As we ascended the hill slope then on the south road departing Bendir Dale, Selgoron revealed his presence to us by speaking quietly while maintaining the concealment he had been using. Immediately after this, when the suspected drow was about twenty steps south of the slope in the road, the human shifter Nicholas placed himself between Nyacelil and Lyelanna, who were visible, and the suspected drow. Nicholas brandished his scythe and shifted through forms to a large lizardman-like shape while saying he could not allow our pursuit to continue. Nyacelil expressed her dismay that Nicholas, who had been her friend, would draw a weapon against her and sought to reaffirm why she, and we, pursued the helmed man as a suspected drow who may have been there to support further drow raids. I, meanwhile, still in concealment, moved off to the right side of the road about fifteen feet from Nicholas and the helmed man just beyond him, both on the road itself.

About this time, Nyacelil's gear guardian summoning expired, and the construct vanished. For mages, I expect this is a good measure of time for how long restraint in this confrontation had been maintained.

From here, I was in place to closely observe all that followed, including the lamentable deaths of humans that are of great concern in all of this, and which have since been the basis for wrongful rumors spreading widely among the peoples of Amia, and even into premature accusations I heard voiced from a few of Winya, that Nyacelil herself murdered four innocent humans, or that she ordered it be done while part of it. Both of those accusations are false, and I will from here provide every detail I remember, so that you may form your own conclusions.

Nyacelil's restrained control of the standoff with Nicholas was taken away when Lyelanna, who was on the road about fifteen feet in front of Nicholas, decided on her own to toss a grenade, then soon a second, directly past Nicholas to where the suspected drow stood behind him. The second grenade confused the suspected drow, who promptly attached Nicholas. Nicholas turned to strike the suspected drow and a moment later Lyelanna rushed to join in fighting the suspected drow on a path that took her closely by Nicholas. Keeping to the right of the road, I moved as quickly as I could while still in concealment to a place still about ten feet away but more beside and behind the suspected drow and away from Nicholas, in case I was needed. I hesitated there, though, feeling dismay that Lyelanna had thrown the grenade, and looked for Nyacelil to see what she did to help me decide what to do. Nyacelil still kept the place she had been, but about then the suspected drow fell dead from Nicholas' strike, and a moment later, Nicholas turned to fight Lyelanna. If Lyelanna struck Nicholas first, I did not see it, but because I was mostly watching Nyacelil at that moment, I cannot be certain. Seeing the two fight and Nyacelil invoke her concealing wards, I closed in also, and once close enough to reach Nicholas, I regained sight of Nyacelil, who was also close enough to strike him but not fighting. I made my own choice to aid Lyelanna then, and added my strikes to hers in subduing Nicholas. Focused on my own part of the fight, then, I believe that Selgoron participated from my right but did not see clearly whether Nyacelil to my left ever actually struck a blow. If she did, I did not see it.

Nicholas fell subdued, fighting ceased, and I promptly resumed my concealment and place I had been. Nyacelil moved to the suspected drow's body and began to remove his armor and belongings, beginnning with his helm, which confirmed that he was, in fact, drow. About the same time, others, several human men that I saw, began to gather on the crest of the road slope coming up from area of the Bendir Dale town gate. When the others began to approach, Nyacelil demanded they stay back and announced that she was investigating a drow. Nyacelil completed stripping the drow of all belongings, revealing Llothite tattoos on his forearms, and then pointed to the body in front of all gathered while calling out, "See? Drow!" Nicholas had by then begun to heal a little from his wounds from the fight and had stood up, dazed and watching. Nyacelil asked Selgoron if he was able to summon a gear guardian to carry the drow body away from the town, and Selgoron replied that he could summon a Sirrush to do so.

About this time, the Mulhorandi human man Meriptah rushed from the gathering at the hill crested toward Nyacelil with apparent intent to attack her, but Selgoron brought him down with a single arrow. Nyacelil cried out, "Meriptah!" in surprised grief, and Selgoron responded that the "lesser" had been "purged." Moments later, the human man Rastin, whom I know was a Cordor guard many weeks ago but am not sure of now, rushed at Selgoron, who had moved to far side of the road from me, against the hillside. Lyelanna rushed in to strike at Rastin, and I moved in concealment to reach the three in hope of aiding in subduing Rastin. I only managed to join that fight briefly before Selgoron's Wail of the Banshee spell ended all fighting, with at least four humans that I could see dead, including Rastin, Meriptah, Nicholas and Fymor, whom I did not know but Nyacelil knew by name. Nyacelil loudly called out, "What the hell!" and admonished Selgoron that he had not needed use the spell. Selgoron again referred to the humans as "lessers" and said they had been "purged." Nyacelil urged him to cease speaking so, bid him to have his Sirrush carry off the drow's body to the south, and said she needed remain to raise and heal those who had been killed. Selgoron complied, but by then a group of about ten Bendir Dale militia had come up the hill from town, and the militia leader demanded we leave. Nyacelil complied, and I followed, still in concealment, along with Lyelanna.

We found Selgoron, his Sirrush and the remains of the drow at the ruin alongside the road just south of Bendir Dale. The Sirrush had managed to eat most the drow's body before Selgoron could stop it, but he used a blade enchanted with magical fire to ignite the rest to burn. After seeing this done, we returned to Winya by portal, where Nyacelil, with some assistance from me, informed Kaithan and Lyraesel of what happened. Kaithan, after hearing the beginning of our tale, hurried to Bendir Dale to meet with Mayor Rosary Doodlekins.

Nyacelil and I spoke with Mayor Doodlekins, at her agreement to meet, the following day in Bendir Dale to openly offer our perspective of what had happened in detail. Nyacelil primarily spoke, and I offered additional details, where relevant, as I knew them. The Mayor agreed at that time agreed to speak favorably with her council on Nyacelil's behalf concerning Nyacelil's banning from Bendir Dale, but with results now known. Notably, too, the human man Thomas, who was also part of the conversation, was less accepting and voiced opinions based on wrong impressions that Nyacelil had directed and participated in the killing of the humans, likely reflecting the way at least some of those present in Bendir Dale on the day of the confrontation, involved or not, had told the tale of what happened. The human War Knight woman Elwyn also voiced desparaging comments from some distance away, but we did not respond to her.

Finally, to openly disclose and ensure all of the Council are aware in considering my statement, as some already know, Bladesinger Nyacelil is my dearest friend and loved sister to be through her courtship and marriage to be to my brother Faelon. I wish to assure, in that light, that all I have written is true as I actual saw, heard and took part in on the day in question. Nyacelil and I have spoken extensively about what happened, both between us and among others of Winya, as many know, but I have only included what I personally remember, and not what others have said beyond that. Although I deeply wish the best of possible outcomes for Nyacelil, I have altered nothing in my account to influence that outcome, and I have allowed no one to read this before submitting it to you.

I offer this statement in hope that you, the Council, will seek truth in this matter with the same care, and discard opinions and presumptions not consistent with it. I am available to answer any further questions you may have.

*At Cordor:*

A tale of a would-be leader who offered barely any leadership over her peers, willingly disregarded lawful authority in another's lands, instigated the persecution of a drow-man who had done nothing dishonorable (but is asserted to have been the son of a dark camel because you say so), and who's bad decisions led to the murder of several honorable men doing the righteous thing just so you could lynch one who was guilty of standing against a wall.

I am unsure who you speak for, as this testimony seems a good account as to why many elf-men should be in a Bendir prison.

Merely stating you are sad is not actual restitution for wrongdoing.

This is not how a sheikh leads or any other honorable man or woman behaves.

The moment you tell the guard force that your authority supersedes theirs is when your argument loses all credibility.

As witness to you making the statement Captain Heshgvar mentioned, I beleive you should take some more time to think about why you were in the wrong, Nyacelil. Next time you wish to apologise, write it yourself. It cannot come from your heart if it is written by the hands of another. I would find this as further insult were it I you tried to impose your false authority over. He is worth your time. Your disrespect to him was astounding. Not beyond redemption, of course. Try harder.

Lastly, I will say that no matter how many people slander you for your action, keep your head up, look towards the light, and stride for greener pastures.

[A small addendum is written at the bottom of the cover notices in both Cordor and Kohlingen, written in the same hand.]

To make clear:
- I post these accounts for all to read on my own initiative. Nyacelil did not ask me to do this as a form of apology, or otherwise. I do this, instead, to provide truth, because I have seen or heard of a number of others shunning speaking to her based on a mix of true and false tellings of what happened, and with hope that further conversation with Nyacelil on what happened and what follows is based on truth, and to give her opportunity to say what she will and be heard.

And to those who've written comment:
- Questions and criticism related to authority to act in Bendir are fair and have been addressed both with Bendir Dale and the Winya Council. I leave comment on this to those in authority and Nyacelil.
- To those who criticize Nyacelil's leading of peers, however, please read carefully. Lyelanna's impulsive choice to toss the grenades surprised all and happened in spite of Nyacelil's attempt to keep restraint at that moment. Selgoron joined events late and acted on his own, before Nyacelil had chance to attempt to assert control, which she did, but was regrettably able to only after fighting that others initiated without warning.

Written on one notice in Cordor-

I think what is most important here is: what are the elves going to do about the breach of policy? The Dale's word should be respected, even if it too late. What will Winya do in recompense to The Dale and those whose friends were hurt in the conflict its citizens were part of escalating? Winya knows that this has been an issue in the past- working alongside N'Tel'Quessir. You would do well with leaders who understand the dire risks such accounts create for treaties and good relations across the isle.

[Beneath Meriptah's note, again in the same script, a small note is written.]

On the contrary, all written here is as I saw closely and remember, and that you feel need to dispute it saddens me.

What saddens me far more, however, is memory of how you yourself fell, needlessly, after the choice you made on your own to initiate new fighting that led to further needless bloodshed, when it could have been prevented. As many rightly argue, choice of resolution here too should have been the Bendir Militia's.

*Nicholas sees the notice and chuckles histaricaly.*

Don't accuse me of striking first to Lyelanna if you don't know the information. It's obvious you didn't pay attention, is it. Lyelanna even admitted to striking me first because I was in her way. Nice try.. Also she didn't invoke her concealing wards anytime after we were on the Hill. When I got off the Cart from North Cordor she was already warded, with both Lyelanna and her swords drawn for innocent flesh.

*Nicholas returns to post something else! A letter!*

Quote:
Greetings Rosary,

I understand that Kaithan spoke to you in regards too the mess that occurred on the Hill over looking the out skirts of Bendir. First I would like to express my regret, and apologize to you and those whom have been offended with my dismissal of your city's laws, though I think there is gross misunderstanding of my role in what happened. I hope to disclose you the honesty that I have always have lived by, and the wholeness of my heart that I know you can respect.

I can get into the details of what occurred if you desire. We can speak on that in person with a witness that was standing right there to watch the whole thing transpire. But before we go that route please understand my the goal in the confrontation of this Lolthite was too prevent him access to scouting of innocents. Although I sought to maintain restraint in my methods, as I only sought to learn his identity at this stage, things went astray when two other elves took actions that I do not agree with.

My involvement with battling Nicholas was a defensive posture for his lethal attack on Lyleanna, after she opted on her own to toss a grenade toward the drow to confuse him in hope of preventing his escape. The drow, as a result, turned on Nicholas, who then turned on Lyelanna, and I feared at that point that he had made decision to harm Lyelanna and me. I employed my blade only to subdue him, and at no point struck a killing blow. In fact, his regeneration restored him to a point where he was able to witness that the one he defended with idealism was in fact a Lolthite drow, as the tattoos on the drow's forearm were identified by Nim Elen, my companion and sister, to be one of a vassal to the goddess Lolth.

On the matter of Selgoron unleashing the Banshee spell, he acted alone in doing so. There was nothing I could have done to prevent him from doing such. I tried very hard too control him but he would stay his hand in this matter. Understand that Selgoron's hand in this will not be overlooked by the Winya Council. I do not for a moment condone what he did as acceptable, nor do I feel that humans or others are beneath me. I think you have known me long enough to know that is not how I am.

However, I assume responsibility for my operation that caused your community absolute chaos as these elves joined me in my efforts to confront the Lolthite. In that light, I am prepared too negotiate settlement to your community, should you require that, as well as agree to what you have discussed with Kaithan in your prior meeting. In that, I am sorry that this action of mine became so quickly out of control near your community.

Sincerely,
Bladesinger Nyacelil

Here is a letter sent from Nyacelil to Rosary, the Mayor of Bendir. She also states I was the one to strike Lyelanna first, but that is false. She states I defended a Lolthie, but she and I had no idea the man was drow, or a Lolthie. It was just a elf stated man that -seemed- drow, and therefore picked up because he didn't take his helmet off. They said if he was a "good" drow, though they didn't know he was drow, he would've removed his helmet. She's making it clear she is pin pointing all drows no matter Lolthie or Eilestiraee. She also side commented anyone who try's to bring justice to Selgoron will feel her wraith. Yet your running for Winya Council, some Council member you'd make.

Another thing that irritates me from this latter which I've re-read a good six time. She said she only wanted to identify the drow. It took four people, fully equipped, two hiding, Nyacelil and Selgoron fully warded, to identify the man as being drow. Such a simple request I originaly told her to unward, and put the swords away.

There is no miss understanding on your role, nor the others. You fully condoned their actions because you didn't stop them. If you truly were sorrow don't try and get people to make public announcements on your behalf to vouch for your character. Start proving to Bendir you want to return.

- Nicholas Frost,
Eldath Bless.

[A new note is written below the comment from Nicholas]

Nicholas, if Lyelanna and you both state she struck you first, then that is what happened.

Again, please read my statement carefully. I meant not to accuse you with absolute certainty, and did not write my account that way. As I stated instead, I saw you turn on Lyelanna, but I was also looking toward Nyacelil at that moment to help decide what to do, and that if Lyelanna struck you first, I did not see it. Lyelanna was on the opposite side of you from where I stood, and clearly I missed seeing that one important happening. I now accept that she struck you first, and we are closer to reaching commonly understood truth. Thank you.

[A further few words are written under the comments of Samantha, apparently found later]

Bendir laws will be respected. Nyacelil has agreed to this and told me so, as have I. I do not speak for Winya, but believe the Council has said the same.

The possibility of recompense is something that Nyacelil and I believe right, and that she first mentioned to me, but we have still more to do to see if there is a solution there.

I speak only for myself in this matter.

You and your fellows circumvented the authority of people you claim to be your allies, murdering innocent people to get at a man you had no proof of being half as vile as you claim. You forfeited any sense of justice when you tried to make excuses for your dishonourable deeds, and you cannot even control your own people - one of your erstwhile kinsmen attacked a fellow elf, and my Warlord.

If words were water, you and Nyacelil would drown us all. Given the testimony of your victims against your claims, I see no reason to believe a word either you or Nyacelil say. Whilst I prefer to keep out of politics, I must say - the fact that your dear friend has pretensions of leadership in Winya Ravana is a terrifying prospect for the entire island; perhaps Nyacelil's words would have more weight if she realized the error of her ways and stepped down from her attempts at rule, and learn a shred of humility, for her actions have been nothing more than disastrous for the reputation of your peoples' city. But given how she feels the need to blame her victims, evade responsibility and attempt to excuse her own crimes to the people she wronged, I think her true beliefs and intentions are clear.

*Nyacelil is totally unaware of all these notes being passed about. She continues too spend her days in safe zones of Winya, avoiding the bann's that have been placed against her. Continuing to be present among her elven community where she waits for Bendir to respond with letters that she has sent to them. As well as the final results of the Winya Election.*

Triel'ithra Zau'ana, with respect and not to single you out, your characterization of what happened is an example of why I posted my own account to begin with, in attempt to at least have dialog and personal conclusion on what occurred be based on truth, no matter who was right or wrong in each part of things. Significant criticisms of what happened are fair, but your characterization of what occurred as the elves involved "murdering innocent people to get at a man" is grossly wrong.

Events occurred substantially as I have stated them, with individuals on both sides, to my knowledge none of them authorities in Bendir Dale, choosing to act toward conflict. That began, with the overeager act of Lyelanna, an elf with us, to toss the confusion grenade that led to the drow man attacking Nicholas, and thus to Nicholas slaying him in his own defense. As Nicholas has clarified, and I now accept, Lyelanna admitted to striking at him first immediately after, leading to the fight where Nicholas was subdued, but, as all present saw, not killed. Very importantly, though criticism of Nyacelil and those of us with her to act in Bendir Dale is legitimately founded, up until the point Lyelanna tossed grenades, restraint to avoid bloodshed was maintained by all, to include between Nyacelil and Nicholas, even as they faced one another with weapons drawn.

Your implied concern about what happened representing an act of indiscriminate hatred toward all drow is important, and I assure you that is not at all the case. I personally, over the time of my life, have counted a number of surface drow as friends, with one of them quite dear. I also remember a time when the Shrine of Eilistraee flourished as haven of goodwill and spent occasional time there, only to be greatly saddened to see what it had become until recent days.

Much like Nyacelil mentioned the intentions weren't for bloodshed. Home come Nyacelil was fully warded with her negative energy weapon? How come Lyelanna was drawn too? Before the whole incident happen while trying to command the man to remove his helmet just to identify him. You needed weapons? You could've have calmly requested him to remove it?

To add clarity as I've done far too much. I never strike the Drow down. I was strike down before I even saw the drow fall.

Murdering innocent people isn't grossly wrong. I was slain and I accept that. But your group killed Fymor, a unarmed man just trying to help the Milita by telling you to take this somewhere else. Meri and Rastin for defending the unarmed man. Suddenly defending unarmed men is wrong? Just because a elf was harmed in the way? Nice, Min. Didn't realize we could defend our own race just because their our own race. Being if their just right or wrong.

It's best this all ceases, and we move forward. Situation has escalated to a higher altitude. Clarity will no longer be provided, because I grow tired of constantly repeating and fixing holes in everyone's statements. All I want you to do is answer these simple questions.

- Why /that/ drow? When I saw him he had absolutely no images on his body, no symbols on his attire that showed he was either Drow or a Lolthie. He could've just been a very thin human, or a elf covered.

- Why that much force? Lyelanna and Nyacelil fully ready to kill just to make him remove his helmet?

- Where's the body so we can bring him into question? Last I seen him or heard from him, you carried him off and no return.

- Lastly, and my favorite, where's the reparation Nyacelil, Lyelanna, Selgoron and you have done? So far Nyacelil and you are the only ones to go public, and not to make amends.

- Nicholas Frost.

[A note is penned below the statement of Nicholas in Kohlingen, with copies of both statements placed in Cordor]

I cannot speak to what occurred with Fymor , for I do not know by face and he was not in my focus, until the end of all fighting after Selegorn's spell was cast, when I noticed a human man that I must assume was him lying maybe thirty feet away from where the fighting I did see occurred. If Meriptah and Rastin believed they defended him each in the separate turns they rushed to fight, so be it, but that was hardly obvious, if so. It is ironic, too, that what you say Fymor urged is exactly what we sought to do after complying with the Bendir Dale militiaman's direction, until you prevented that.

But, as you say, enough trying to reconcile differing recollections, perceptions and memories, each from the vantage we had. If I am wrong on any remembered point, it is not deliberately.

I will instead, after further reflection given all that has been written in response to my postings, add the following as a final written statement and leave any other discussion of this for in person. The other elves involved all speak for themselves:

Our motivation, or at least mine, to take part in seeing the suspected drow, who turned out to be Llothite, unmasked came mostly from the recent raids by underdark drow around Bendir Dale, the Amia Forest, and nearby lands. What awoke suspicion about this particular man is already in my original statement, so I will not repeat it. We were, of course, uncertain, but made quick decision to prepare protections, knowing many prior stories of confrontations with powerful underdark drow and others going badly.

To confront the suspected drow directly, rather than seek to have the Bendir Dale militia do so, however, was a serious mistake, and one that will not be repeated. The fight that followed, then, was a very regrettable mess, with mistakes made on both sides, but with the first two, both serious ones, made by one of the elves, Lyelanna, with her toss of the grenades and then, as we now understand happened, with her first attempt to strike Nicholas. I, and Nyacelil by her statement, both failed to see that Lyelanna turned on Nicholas first, and I accordingly acted to defend her rather than attempt to urge her to desist. This, plus however Selgoron may have responded (I assume with his bow), was enough, I acknowledge, for others to have seen all elves present as not just confrontational with the suspected drow but as violent aggressors. The rest of conflict followed to regrettable end.

Because of those mistakes, and in interest of moving on toward a more permanent resolution and at least some healing of fractured friendships and trust, as Nicholas also urges, I will participate with Nyacelil in whatever reparations are agreed to. She already reached out to Mayor Doodlekins of Bendir Dale about this days ago and awaits response. The other two elves involved, again, must speak for themselves.

[Posted under Min's comment in Kohlingen.]

The sense you make in saying you just wanted to unmask him, nothing more. But you had to fully prepare to ask him to unmask. In which either way you know if he was identified as a Lolthite you'd had killed him anyways.

There was no mistakes made from both sides. There was only mistakes made from those elfs involved side. I defended a man whom I believed was innocent. Whom I had no idea who he was, race or religion. You were the ones to fully ward and target a man you've never seen before. But due to the Bendir raids you felt it appropriate to defend a civilization you had no authority over.

You say I prevented you from complying with the Bendir Dale militiaman laws, but Nyacelil and Lyelanna still provoked the Drow. Still remain with weapons drawn and warded. Still tried to get his mask off to kill him. So don't give me that bullshit. If you were going to "comply" with the orders you would've left the man alone and went a different route.

- Nicholas.

[Copies posted at the board in Kohlingen and later in Cordor]

The elves made mistakes, of that there is no dispute, but what needs be said is how disturbingly often this isle goes out of it's way to protect strangers who, for those with actual intuition and experience, are obviously of dark and malign intent.

Drow are too often coddled like innocent children when they've made no attempt to display or affirm that they're Eilistraeen, or worse yet, when they wear armour and weapons that would make even a blackguard roll their eyes at the lack of subtlety. Most other places in this world would evict or outright kill such suspicious drow on sight, but not Amia.

The next time drow slaughter your loved ones and you find there weren't enough people around to help fight them off, consider the culture of blind acceptance that you hold so dear and the proactive protectors you so spitefully shun.

The blood of future deaths stains you all too, for this evil can only exist so freely on this isle because supposedly good and tolerant people refuse to act. So cast your blame on those who act, but accept yours as well when you don't.

Seen in Kohlingen, Nicholas reads it and grows in laughter. He crumbles it up and is heard saying, "Idiot!" but in pure laughter. Tossing the crumbled up note in his bag.

[A new copy of Delen's statement some time later finds itself replaced on the Kohlingen board, the druidess politely asking the two nearby gate guards if they can be mindful that the integrity of the board be kept intact from people who would rip off notices that don't agree with them, unless of course they're official representatives of the city. Delen sits by the nearby fountain for a time after, idly reading a book. Perhaps watching for the return of the culprit who removed her reply in the first place.]
