I haven't been playing for over a year now, so I need an update or two as to what new things have been added or changed- Anything important really, but as of now, I only have this question-
Has the Shadowdancer class been improved or changed somehow in the last year?
Paladins and Clerics are strictly deities. Their spells are "divine", and are granted by their deity.
This is true for rangers and druids too.

No. They follow Monk Orders instead which are generally tied to a deity or a group of deities that matches a concept or ideal.

While paladins are subject to the same worship rules as any other divine class, I'm curious if they could theoretically gain their power from other appropriate divine sources. It would require a special request of course, I'm speaking purely on a lore level. The 7 celestial paragons each empowers a particular class from Exalted Deeds and the Servant of the Heavens feat seems like it opens the door for them to have their own servants. But something tells me as squeaky clean as the Heavens tend to be in FR, every paragon would staunchly deny having their own "worshipers," instead suggesting that the good gods be worshiped on their behalf.
I'll be damned if one of the Hebdomad seeking to gain goodhood(which isn't innately immoral or unlawful in itself) wouldn't make a good plot, though.

Not all monk orders have a religious or even philosophical focus in the Realms and indeed not all monks even have orders. Some are self-taught and some are simply pupils with Masters.

We have some of our own settlements with their own history, and some things have happened differently than in the regular FR timeline, but a lot of it is the same. Regarding the Silence of Lolth and 3.5 Edition stuff, this was what I was able to find.
Quote:
Wrapped up and had a chat with the rest of the Team. Amia-verse Lore is as follows:
There was a brief Silence due to Lolth shifting the Demon Web Pits out of the Abyss. The Lichdrow Dyrr perished before the Silence even begun as a result of jealous students overcoming his golem's wards. As a result, the events leading to the Lady Penitent Series (and much of the War of the Spider Queen) never occurred. Selvetarm and Eilistrae are both alive and well.
The following cities were directly effected: Maerimydra: It is firmly in under the control of Drow faithful to Kiaransalee. Ched Nasad: Lolth was silent just long enough for rebel Drow to sack it, as is described in the WotSQ. Eryndlyn: Lolth's Silence was not long enough for those faithful to her rivals to unite and lay waste to her followers. Lolthites are still there, and still largely balanced in numbers to the followers of the rest of the Dark Seldarine. Chaulssin: The city is firmly Vhaerunite. What resistance against them had existed was squashed (sometimes literally). Menzoberranzan: Events on Amia play out pretty much the same. They came out ahead slightly due to the shorter length of Lolth's Silence.

The 200 meter silver elephant in the room ... Quintessence! Just to get this straight:
There is a large silver sphere hanging above Cordor. Large meaning, I think I read that somewhere, around 200 meters in diameter or something. Huge! I guess because of the size it can be seen from most open places in all parts of the city. It does weird things to people, like noises etc.
Here's an interesting one; how does a caster with 8 strength, not get completely wrecked by a bard with balagarn's iron horn? Is there any way, or is that level 1 spell destined to destroy casters?
So I probably just screwed myself over by taking the wrong epic spell, I wanted to take one of the mummy dust variants and seeing nothing else, took it presuming I'd get asked to choose somewhere along the process which summon I want. Now I'm stuck with the undead one and wondering what I would should have done different.

Everyone just ignores it.
Correct from casual observation?
Yep!
Such is the class-ist attitudes in Cordor they have no concern for the well-being of the Westies. :O
If I would like to delevel my character one level down (I basically made stupid mistake), do I have to write request or can I just try catching DM in the game? I picked bad class on lvl up cause I mixed up characters and their builds.

How did my character get his portal wand?
It's an enigma, wrapped in mystery.
Basically, that's up to you. There's never been a set official reason how everyone got theirs. It's just kinda been an unspoken "everyone has one because.. reasons" thing. So yeah, Up to you how you want your character to have acquired it! Maybe he found it in the hull of the boat he sailed in on, maybe it was given to him when they set out from home by concerned parents. Maybe it was just an odd adventuring item! Who knows!

Actually, it was understood that the Mystrans hand them out to everyone. Yet another thing that was tied in (to some extent) to the Reyes plot, seeing as Reyes was the original inventor of the portal wands.
Mystrans are everywhere, after all. They're at every mythal forge, at the least. And they are not shy about sharing, with shipments going all over the place to everywhere - and some even hijacked by drow and other wicked scum or smuggled by those looking for a quick penny to sell it to darker races.
They're just...everywhere. Readily available. If your character wouldn't have accepted one from a random merchant/do-gooder Mystran/smuggler, then get with a DM about getting rid of it. (Which has also been done before!)

Yep, this is pretty much the understanding. Unless the current DM team decides otherwise. They are distributed, mainly to the adventuring sorts, who can typically afford to splurge on something like a portal wand. They are made by the Mystrans, and distributed through various means (with some being redirected to the Underdark), to the throng of adventuring masses. Adding a starter quest where one gains a portal wand after doing some minor service or something was discussed awhile back, but never gained any traction.
But yeah. Made by Mystrans. Widely distributed throughout Amia.

Oh, don't feel like a noob. There's nothing in game that indicates where you get the portal wand. You'd have to read it on the forums (portal wand history can be read here - shameless promotion!), or have been involved rather deeply in the Reyes plot, to know.
Nivo is a forever noob...and yes this is the official lore since 2009-2010. Before Amia B entered the module, which changed the whole portal system (which relied on mushrooms and permanent portals which ported you to your party leader) was a mystery
It can probably be assumed that at some point, given their pilfering and successful claiming of a Great Mythal (They still have one, right?), and the Forge it gives, that mages of the Sorcere of the various Drow settlements, or of the combned work in L'Obsul, have invented something similar.

Or maybe drows just needed to gain all those inventions to get even with surface, so they caught some mystran and tortured all the blueprints out of him

Maybe the leyline Mystrans are really Lolthites trying to set up a shadow weave thing for Lolth with the mythals. There probably was an sacrificial altar in the back of the monolith somewhere. The WK were basically the Vanguard. Female drow were in charge!

It's only logical that reverse engineering would wield results. There is at least one PC who knows how to make them, so it can't be that hard, right?
I noticed that after my rebuild, the class specific vendors in Lowlands Delta (Rogue) and Endir's Point (Wizard, etc...) arn't picking up my levels in the respective classes.
Is this an ECL thing or is it broke for the character?
I think you need a certain number. Like my WM with 2 Rogue levels can't use the Rogue shop, but my level 5 rogue was able to. So it might be 3 or 4 levels you need in either, to stop dump classes from counting hah.

For the sake of in-character training purposes, am I allowed to use my Monkey Grip widget with a Training Greatsword, which has listed No Damage as one of its powers?
_________________ Elwyn Sabel - Laura Jarshall - Mordoc Ebonhand
"No damage" just negates the base damage (2d6 or whatever it is) of the weapon, not all physical and in particular not STR bonus. So the No damage sword might even do more (physical) damage than your real sword with the -0.5STR penalty. At least, that's how I think it works.
If you need it just for RP, you can always emote to grab another weapon in one hand (never really saying that you're good with it or testing it mechanically) or hit with your real weapon but in a less than deadly PvP mode.
Anyway, let's hear the DMs and not the peanut gallery ... ;)
No, but what R do you mean? Is it on the model itself in-game?

It's on the inventory image of certain weapon models. I dunno myself! I think the a sickle model does it. Maybe it's claws or something?

It means that the weapon appearance is intended to be used in the right hand of your character, or the weapon will look odd. There is an equivalent L appearance for those weapons as well. There's a sickle appearance and a kama appearance that I know of.
