If you were taking an epic rogue level...

And... you have a minimum 45 reflex save, would you....

1) Take Improved Evasion
2) Take Crippling Strike
3) Take an Improved Sneak Attack
4) Maybe an Epic Skill Focus? (so many to choose from!)

Just curious what others think...

Thanks for your input!

Improved evasion if you have defensive roll for Epic dodge
Crippling strike is nice if you can't reach epic dodge..
Improved Sneak attack is.. meh...
If you are epic rogue I don't think you need epic skill focus in anything (maybe in MS and hide, but people with few golds and usage of scrolls will always see you anyway)

If you can shoot for Epic Dodge, you won't be disappointed.

Ok... thanks, but... ED isn't in the cards on this one. I'm debating between Sneak attack and ESF Spot. Improved Evasion seems a waste with that save, and crippling strike... won't most things be dead by the time it becomes useful? This is why I ask, I just don't know what to do.

If you have a ton of Spot already, go for ESF Spot. Extra 1d6 sneak attack is alright, but if you want to see sneaks and you already invested in Spot, you need to up that skill. Many sneaks have crazy high Hide/MS.

Now I have a question-

What exactly do we type in for changing voicesets? I've tried numbers and everything.

Type the exact name of the voiceset, not the numbers. So..

Male_voice1 <--- Something along those lines, I suppose. Just what ever the actual name of the voiceset is.

The character in question has no knowledge of Tarkuul.

Those posters can be found all over the island. Admittedly the thread got buried, but a simple search does wonders. :)

Not even in the first page of PC Notice Board, kind of hard to assume a character created in the last weeks would have seen those. As for the search, I was searching, only IC instead of the forums.

IC can be done on the forum too. Better to search IC on the forum than OOC on the forum. But that's just my opinion. It's you who chooses what's your character going to know, of course. *shrugs*

Is Sigmund the Skald missing parts of conversation after you finish his quest, or were all those tales never there in the first place?

Does DR vs slashing/piercing/blunt stack with DR/- that reduces all physical damage? I'm curious but if it doesn't that won't really hurt the character concept I have in mind. Thanks in advance.

Feat based DR like from Barbarian or Dwarven Defender levels stacks with slash, pierce, and bludgeoning DR you get from various items. Item DR doesn't stack with itself. Immunity % to physical damage is calculated and deducted first (if you have it on an item), before the DR is factored in.

Curiosity question here:

If I had an item that gives "level 5 sorcerer spell slot", and my character is NOT a sorcerer, but has the charisma to cast that level of spell, do they actually get a spell slot? I wouldn't think they would, but... I've heard of people doing this before with other things.

Anyone know for sure?

You wouldn't, and it'd be the same way with any item that gives you spells for a class you don't have, Even if you were a sorcerer and say weren't the proper level for the spell you would get the spell slot but not a spell to put in it (Sorc, Wiz, and Bard all learn spells as they level.) However Divine casters get access to all their spells as soon as they reach the proper level to cast or have a spell slot (There's a druid necklace that has a 9th level spell slot that many people mythal off the extra bits and can cast a 9th level spell at level 9 *Normally elemental swarm*.)

no you wouldn't since you have no spells to select from, because you are not a sorcerer. To my knowledge only bards can do that trick, to cast the extended version of their level seven six spells if they add a level 7 spell slot.

Say you got an item with 25% fire vulnerability. But then you find a ring with 100% fire immunity. What happens?

Soo.... are Deity Rings in the Boss level lootbin? I just destroyed the Treasure Chest belonging to an Undead Pirate and got..... a ring of Garl Glittergold. Yes, I'm sure it was the chest and not the pirate. I picked it up along with the gems.

IMHO, if these are now part of the +5 lootbin, they shouldn't be. It's hard enough to get -anything- to drop. Sure, collectors like the Deity rings, but... ehh, not the same as Epic Loot.

Thanks!

The rings drop on their own roll. You probably just had the luck to get a roll on that, instead of the epic drop.

Same with Bone Wands and Blank Scrolls. I got a Blank Scroll off the Fire Giant King once.

Theoretically, you can get a drop that has a regular loot drop, a bone wand/blank scroll, and a deity ring.

Undeath's Eternal Foe
Immunity changed from standard 100% down to 50% + 5% per Spell Focus in Abjuration (55% for Spell Focus, 60% for Greater Focus, 65% for Epic Focus). AC bonus changed from Deflection to Natural and duration changed from Rounds/Level to Turns/Level.

From wiki:
Description: All allies in the area of effect will receive the following bonuses: immunity to negative energy damage, immunity to level/energy drain, immunity to ability score decreases, immunity to poisons, immunity to diseases and a +4 deflection bonus to AC

So it grants +4 natural AC, 50% negative energy protection and what exactly? 50% immunity to poisons, disease, level drain etc?
Was it changed to +4 natural AC, new NEP and turns/level duration? Does 50% level drain give you a 50% chance to avoid the roll on said effect?

Please explain what the spell entails.

This is correct, it's 50% immunity to neg energy (which is the only thing that makes logical sense, really).

And now, there are no +5 AC +3 WIS boots sadly :(

What a shame. It needs to be put in the epic loot bin for sure. :)

Undeath's Eternal Foe.. the effects doesn't really live up to the name. A level drain immunity added wouldn't break it and also make sense. It's a 9th level spell after all. Just my 52 cents.

It gives 50% immunity to energy damage, plus a full immunity to all the effects listed. So it already has the level drain immunity built in.

Thanks. That's what I wanted to know. I thought the level drain/ability drain/poison immunities were removed and it was 50% negative energy damage immunity and +4 AC.

Is there any contemporary Amia history? I've only found Ruathym timeline so far and I would be interested in something more about "Amia A" stuff.

A general history can be found in the lore thread and covers up to 1380 DR.
The recent history of 1383 DR can be found, if quite fragmented, in here

The time in between can be somewhat covered by DM posts until a unified effort is made to register the most important events.
Kohlingen specific timeline here.
Cordor through Andrew's point of view.
And much more without a doubt for those willing to go spelunking through the forums.

Been wondering for a while now, why is the Eilistraee shrine thread in the PC noteboard area? The thread pretty much equates to who comes and goes in the shrine and the way in which they pray there... so its more a story/visual happening rather than an in character announcement post! Surely it should be one down in the PC Stories and Character Descriptions as this is for stories, character development and in game happening?

... it's been bugging me a while!
