Ok, so I created a halfling monk and she comes from the Monastery of the Order of the Hin Fist, in Luiren. She came to Amia, and Bendir Dale in particular to uphold and defend the halfling way of life and traditions. I have a basic knowledge of the Order, but... I'm hoping to collect more information and potentially organize the information into something that could be official lore for Amia.

So, I'm looking for source materials and even player input and ideas on what would be the makeup of the Order. Ie.. Size of the Monastery, leadership positions, ethos, code of ethics, etc. I'd like to see this represented in game either via characters of the Order or someday, who knows, maybe an area set aside for this Order somewhere on the server.

So, if anyone has source information, links, books, etc, OR, if you have input and ideas on what you'd think or like the Order to be, just write it all on this post. I'll go through it, and put something together!

Thanks!

There's a little snippet in the 3.5ed Shining South lore book about the hin fist prestige class. It doesn't really give you much on the order itself. But the book does have a detailed chapter on Luiren which may be helpful for your PCs back story.

I think what Luckbringer mentioned is most of what there is, unfortunately. I seem to remember there not being a whole lot to work with on the Hin Fist when I was trying to compile information on the various Orders. If I find anything, though, I'll post it!

Thanks Letum! Doesn't seem to be much anywhere really.

Hin Fist

Associated deity: Yondalla's Children

Alignment: Lawful good and lawful neutral

Multiclass as fighter, paladin (see Shields of Yondalla) or rogue

Other restrictions: Halfling only, rare dwarf or gnome exceptions

This monk order was founded in Luiren by halflings given divine inspiration by their pantheon of deities. Though members are not required to be good (neutral monks are allowed), all members see themselves as defenders of all hin, and travel Faerun to right wrongs against the hin, and (they hope) test their skills against other martial artists. Many of the maneuvers taught by this order are centered on using an opponent's size and strength against him. Monasteries outside Luiren may accept exceptional dwarves and gnomes as students, and it is common for experienced Hin Fist monks to teach the rudiments of their fighting style to other halflings in need of self-defense.

Interesting, no Oaths or Creeds, other than defender of the race. Looking around Candlekeep forum doesn't reveal much more than that. Seems like very little was written about them. This 'can' be a good thing, though. Because it gives you the space to really develop it in your own style. I would argue to take inspiration from the Hin Gods / Yondalla and her Children.
