Unreliable and odd is what it is. First usage doesn't heal 100% and second about 20%? I was told that it's a recent change (after my characters demise), but there is no info on this to be found in the updates thread.

Bug or intentional? If intentional, you need to inform the playerbase. Quite an annoying surprise to experience when it leads to your death.

And why the change? Renaming them would be appropriate, as they have nothing in common with the Heal spell currently.

This is mentioned in the modified spells topic

Quote:
Heal
If cast via an item (e.g. a potion), successive uses of the spell reduces the amount it heals, depending on the last time it was cast. Additionally, it will only heal a maximum of 80% of a character's health points if cast this way. If cast the round before, it will only heal 5% maximum hit points. If cast two rounds before, it will only heal 10% maximum hit points. This continues up to fifteen rounds, where it will heal 80% maximum hit points once more.

Who checks all spells for changes every day? Expecting this from players is baffling, as you'd have to check every mechanic listed on the site before you log on to avoid grim surprises. There were no notification of this change, which is problematic and reflects poorly on people in charge.

I hope this trend doesn't last..

This has been in effect for more than 4 years now. Regretfully this is more of a you played an untouchable non-melee wizard and never had need to know and not an Amian Dev or DM team or non-information act sort of thing.

Actually, there was a discussion on it, even I remember it, and I'm stoned most of the time. The server was aware at the time, of the impending change, at least to those who read the thread. *shrugs*

Update from 2012.. whaaa. I thought it occured recently, like within the last month or so. I recall it being 100%, then decreasing in effectiveness.
I apologize. Apparently I didn't have the need to chug several heal potions until yesterday and noticed, asking another player what it was about, but not being told it was an old change.

Again, my bad. Seems like Amia got things under control. This thread may be thrown into the void, please.
