I understand leveling and loot grinding is tedious and you just want to get it over with, but I actually think we'd get a lot more enjoyment out of "leveling" and our character's experience if we took it slow. Don't think of it as "slow leveling" but think of it as "Roleplay I'd normally be doing anyway, but I get xp for it"

There's also the matter that I never get to see people actually roleplaying their battle/magic skills! Which is a huge chunk of your character that I want to see represented more! I put Jovi on the party ball to offer her as a battlehealer but rarely do I get to really roleplay this and see your reactions to being wounded or fighting with bandages. I run into your characters and save your life and you save mine, which should be a deeper experience, but it isn't- it flies by like cutting at orcs is like running to the grocery store.

Of course it's actually totally fine that some people want to whiz through leveling to have more time for relaxed RP and I won't tell those people to change.

So anyway, kind of like the "RP request" thread, here's a thread to post that you're looking for Dungeon Roleplay, as a kind of compliment to the party ball. It's even better now with the level restrictions lifted. Dungeons aren't just for xp and gold- they're for testing skills, training for new ones, or hunting your favored enemy!



Or tweak it thusly to your custom specifications.
"But what is the IC reason for 10 people randomly meeting together?" you can be creative. You can just say you happen to meet, say you're answering a mercenary call (following one of the quests) or say you just heard it on the wind!

I know I'm not the first person to be roleplaying in a dungeon and plenty of people do too, but it's always such a mixed bag, I thought I'd make a space to advertise for a whole party that could comfortably walk and roleplay a dungeon.

My experience is: It all depends on the group. If the majority is rushing ahead, I often find it hard to get even a single emote in and not be lagging one spawn behind. (It's worse on my cleric, where I can't even keep up my buffs and not lag behind ...) And if the group is actually that good, I don't mind raking in gazillions of free xp, either.

There's also the mechanical side that buffs run out so quickly because even a little RP exchange in a small group can easily take 5 minutes and you're suddenly in the middle of tough spawns and need a rest, instead of having finished the zone already.

I'd love talking and emotes to be instant actions. Like a Timestop effect where you can't do anything but emote/talk in between spawns and your buffs don't run out. But I don't expect an implementation of that any time soon.
