The "Umber Hulk Servants" in Contested Caverns and Illithid City areas can no longer see invisibility. Is this intended?

If you can break a cleric's AC, out AC their AB (discounting EDodged attacks), or outpace their heals/harms/SoV; they're not optimized. Hm. My cleric has never lost to an assassin.

Unfortunately assassins are a class that is very hard to represent in this game.

Which makes it one of the more interesting classes to try to do justice.

Spotting gear is easier to acquire than hiding/move silently gear, too.
Yes, there's a cloak that provides +15 to both. But there's a bow that has +10 Spot, a Cloth armor that has +10 spot, and a helmet that has +11 spot (Each of these bonuses costs only one power on the item, too)
The scrolls giving the advantage that they do means that if you're willing to accept physical, momentary vulnerability by shifting, as long as you've invested the skills in listen you don't really need to gear for it either. You can pop a single buff like Clairvoyence and enter Umberhulk form, reaching a +50 cap. Which if you've invested into the skillpoints as well, you'll be able to detect everyone.
This is a good change that been wanted for a long time.

They're not epic items, either. They're available in shops throughout Amia.

I approve of this change. It certainly makes sneaks more worthwhile again.
And maybe all the secret societies will start to worry about the shadows again. Maybe.

This change makes it tempting to return. My gawd, sneaks might be able to actually, you know, sneak and spy on folks!
(also, I can't recall a time my mage has lost a 1v1 against a non-spellcaster so you must be doing something wrong!)

The Umberhulk slaves in the illithid lair on B have also lost TS as a result of this, not sure if that's intentional or if any other Umberhulk have lost it.

This isn't feedback so much as a guy who knows a lot about what's strong giving information.
Umberhulk and the familiar having ts is fine balance wise, shifters having it is not.
The wizard familiar simply is weak, there's no getting around it. It's not strong enough to hold it's own in pvp, and really only serves to make players aware that there is something hostile in stealth nearby. But even that isn't that useful unless you hostile the server and set your pet to suck anything red (potentially very useful actually). It van also serve as a beacon for where to drop aoe if you're fighting SD's, but by then they're usually dead because it's free damage to the wizard and you can recovery from the backlash pretty easily if they don't melt you on the spot (hard to do without great timing and reflexes with perma freedom gear). It's useful but not inky did no one know how to use it, it's easy to counter.
Now the umberhulk? Purely noncombat, and unless you cast it from your book has a duration that makes it cost prohibitive. If used in you lose ask great bonuses including saves and freedom. A smart shadowdancer or assassin will daze/paralyze you for making such a lethal mistake and promptly melt you for being flat footed.
Now call me crazy, but I think the umberhulk separates boys from men in the stealth game. You. Always. Cornersneak. Don't ever not do it, even as an sd. Ever. Line of sight means that even their 150 spot won't catch you, and neither will true seeing. Enjoy being Sam Fisher, because you're a ghost.
Anyone who doesn't use the umberhulk on sneaky meetings is just asking to be spied on honestly. But then then line you actually need to get line of sight on the spy out you'll never see them. Some people will complain that this shuts down spies and spy related role play, but to be honest... stealth mode isn't really a huge part of the spy game, your charisma score will probably see a lot more use in rp.
Now. Shifters... I kinda like that they lose it. I don't know if raksasha lost it but raksasha was almost totally useless anyway. That makes the psuedodragon a good lazy mans spotter out of combat, and pretty reliable if you take ranks in spot. Any golem has +7 wisdom modifier so it gives them a sitting spot score of 80 off they take no feats or racials to add more. That's kinda neat, and not as powerful as permanent TS which has no roll. You have to know how to play the rng and actually try.
All the +40 changes really did was make the forms useful to people who have maxed out skills but don't want to gear them. You actually lose any gear boosts to the skills so its anywhere from useless to actually detrimental if you gear to spot or listen mid combat.
That's it for the tangent, I decided to post facts about what it means mechanically qnd not my opinions because I mostly don't part anymore.
Later taters
