Build would be monk 9 bard 1 aa 17 then one more epic monk or bard for disc and tumble. Ab would be crazy high ac would be as well and drow Sr helps with the rest. Movespeed would be slick as well. With a sicknasty ab and stuff like called shot to help kiting forever I think your only real problem would be dex monks but they do literally zero damage and have 40ish ab so you can just literally ignore them like you do on all characters.
With the level one cl though potions word vanish the moment someone sneezed due to how amia handles caster level and that's really bad for pve and pvp. A fire giant witch would just always strip all potion buffs every single pull and then chain cast sov and sit in it refusing to move for ten rounds. It would be awful.
I'm wondering if I could get a minus charisma item and put my cha at like 6-8 with it, if thst word work for my caster level problem. Or if it works on inherent.
It's not amia handling caster levels like that, it's NWN. From the sounds of it you're wanting to circumvent game mechanics to keep your buffs, that's not the way to go about it. Why are you worried about a caster dispelling you? In the given example, if they're trying to dispel you they're not flinging the nastier spells at you. As an arcane archer, if a caster wants to stand still and chain cast sov, then you should have them dead in a couple of rounds. If you get debuffed, use your monk speed to get back a bit, then resume your chain gun bow shooting and do what an arcane archer does best: make stuff dead quick.

buffs were more of a pve thing because literally everything endgame casts sov and likes to dispel, and shit like mind blanks are actually required to function. i think you would really struggle to do fire giants w/o mind blanks, because you can't afford to stand in the storms without it, and the witches refuse to move out of them (they just stand in their own spells and constantly fail to cast other spells on you because they are utterly incapable of navigating the area) so I don't even think you could get a solid clear time of the place, or a lot of the other end-game dungeons.
not to mention it's nice being able to throw things like haste/imp invis/mind blank/death ward before a pvp fight and not have it instantly all dispelled and just be at the mercy of your base saves when it comes to the myriad of save-or-die effects the pvp casters do fling. partic if they know they can wreck you in one round because a single dispel (cast hasted or auto-quickened) will literally strip you down to your absolute base and knock your drow sr down a peg or two at the same time.
so yeah it's problematic.
also i don't think it's a case of "circumventing game mechanics" because I've heard potions and wands used to dispel off the cl of the item and people pissed and moaned about it (understandably so given the prevalence of bs caster mobs in this game do) and so they reverted it to the base nwn "cl 0 is cl 30" mode.
You're doing 50 or so damage a hit, not counting crits, hitting at 5 times a round with no buffs. Then you have two seeker arrows and hail of arrows doing 30d3 each. So if a caster takes the time to dispell you, doesnt that work in your favor since after the first round they should be near death or dead if you get a crit? As for their spells coming at you, as a monk/aa you can easily have saves close to or over 30 in each against spells unbuffed. So with gear, they're going to be fishing for ones as you turn them into a pin cushion. Heck a while back I was going to make a mage hunter monk/aa, just couldn't get into the whole lawful elf mindset for it. You have all the tools you will ever need to kill mages.
i mean, I asked a question about potion dispelling mostly about pve. i know how much damage the build puts out.
but since you're latching on to the wrong argument here lets discuss it.
you say

I say if i wasn't at 10 cha then they would have a much much much rougher time trying to remove whatever buff it is they wanted to remove.

you can also just do what all the other non caster classes do and either take bard with 8 or 9 cha and just have your 'harder to dispell then an actual epic wizards' buffs too.
the question is if there is a way to have that glorious level 30 dispel check on a drow AA not weather or not I need it (because you literally do).
i mean, you really do. taking a character from 18ish to 26ish in the fire giants and just seeing how their dispells get less and less effective as you level you really really see how fantastic and mandatory it is.
but i mean if you just don't think it's important that's fine. I do though so lets just go from there.

Why, seeing as typically rangers oppose undead, do they have zombie as an option for polymorph self? Pixie, spider, umber hulk and at a push troll i can understand but zombie just seems out of place with the others.

My next set of questions. As always, they do not exactly fit in any one forum, but for once I am using this thread.
First of all, what source(s) could I use to read more about elves (apart from standard players handbook) and where is the Arcane Archer from? Also, I still don't understand how the Amia additions to Imbue Arrow work. I can cast a spell on a stack of (unenchanted, weak) arrows, and it adds damage for 1 hour per AA level, right? How much damage does it guve the arrow? Also, the NWNwikia says Enchant Arrow counts as AB in order to bypass DR. So doesn't that make them even stronger, since they don't care about quite a lot of DR (and actually get past all player-made DR, as far as I know)?

No, it's definitely odd. Even if you're not the nature-y type of Ranger, it always struck me as weird you'd ever want to turn into an Aberration, Troll, or Undead. Fey and spider, maybe. It would be very nice if there were a BoT to make 5 new nature-oriented, even for the nature themed Wizzies and Sorcs that might use it--were the spell not balls awlful in the first place. Particularly: Owlbear(tanky meat shield with Rage ability), Cobra(corner-sneak with Sneak attack and poison), Deer(traveling/fleeing form with Expeditious Retreat ability, weak but able to "graze" when outdoors regaining small bits of HP), Bat(Vamp Regen and confusion screech, scout), and Shark(Free water breathing, good damage, speed, and dr, but you'll instantly start to drown and become immobilized until you unshift if you use it on land).
Oh, yet another one of my pipe dreams.

I always thought transmutation spells and shifter shapes being able to mimic undead was really, really bad lore. That should be rare and powerful necromancy IMO

Even though Amia is 3.5e, the forgotten realms wikia is an excellent resource. The best resource though is surely the 3.5e campaign setting sourcebook which has a lot to say about elves. For Amia in particular, the Elves of Evermeet sourcebook has continued to be a favorite source of lore. If you can't find it elsewhere, PM me and I'll send you a PDF. Amia lore with arcane archer is that it's a gift of Solonor but vague beyond that, from my take.

On Amia, Imbue Arrow is basically just a fireball spell. It sends an "arrow" out that does fire damage to all within a range. It's completely different from stock NWN imbue arrow. Casting magic on a stack of unenchanted arrows doesn't work on Amia at all. It's, bad, but in exchange, AAs on Amia get special, extremely powerful arrows that represent their magical ability. To represent this, they're AA-class restricted, with an OOC warning that only arcane archers can use them. These arrows are given by other PC archers only though, to encourage roleplay. Ask around in Winya or on the forums to find other arcane archers, you'll find them eventually.

Enchant and AB don't stack in terms of overcoming AC or DR, so it's the same either way.

I just figured nature would be easier to mimic on a spell than anything like undead. I too would probably use the spell more from a ranger point of view if it was more nature based and seemed more attuned to the living world!

They don't stack for penetrating DR, but the Enchant Arrow bonus is an uncapped AB (and dmg) bonus on top of everything. In particular, it stacks with AB bonus on the bow. (Source: nwnwiki)
About Enchantment bonus and Attack bonus not stacking to overcome DR, yeah, usually the highest is used. However, considering you get +10 from AA, it seems OP to use that as the bonus vs DR. (just thinking about how the Shifter forms were balanced recently)
With Imbue Arrow, the changes listed on the sidebar (Classes and Feats, Arcane Archer) say you can cast a spell on an unenchanted arrow to give it some bonus damage, type dependant on the spell you cast, with duration = hours/AA levels... It doesn't say how much damage though.
I have been off the server for years. Just came back to look around, check things out. My question is, is it possible any character profiles, unique DM created "approved" items, or anything at all I had from before, are saved anywhere? I can always start from scratch, but figured was worth asking . Thanks.

If it was something you submitted on the forum, then it should still be lurking around somewhere. At least, as long as it wasn't pre-hacker attack and part of the data we lost.
Are certain weapon appearances meant to be locked and uncraftable? Things like the kukri and kama it wouldn't allow me to craft full stop. Or are they meant to be only obtained by DC's? It seems odd if so, as I found other weapons with different appearances anyway on these weapons obtainable IG.
I believe the kukri have no other appearance options, and that's why in their case.
For their kama, their other appearance is a special and basically all-together different weapon that was added at a later time after the crafting system was set up; both of hose reasons are why it's request-only. There's been some mention of opening it up, but no decision yet.
The kukri does at least - it looks more like a machete, and not really that much different from a kukri or some of the short sword appearances. The 'Maztacian machete' uses it, at least. That's fair enough and understandable on the rest though!
is there anyway a drow arcane archer and avoid having a level 1 dispel check? due to +2 int ant +2 cha, you'll always be at 10 in one of those stats so you will always be dispelled as a level 1 caster, where as non-drow can have an 8 or a 9 in one of those stats and since they can't cast cantrips will always be as a level 30 for dispelling.
is there anyway to do that on a drow aa or is that char concept just mechanically fucked forever?
still wondering if someone out there knows nwn enough to answer this one. i was planning on mythaling one of the -2 cha tarkuul robes.
On the lore forum there is a thread about paladins. It only talks about torm, tyr, Mistra, imalther, Salandra and Hoar. Question is: Are these the only deities that have paladins in Amia?
I'm quite sure many of the Gods who support Lawful Good alignments have paladins. Helm comes to mind as well as Red Knight off the bat. Check the left side of Amia forums and check out Deity System and see what Gods support LG alignment.

Fire Giant King has an implosion. Pirate has Dev Crit and an insta-kill pulse Windreaper and Snowbeast have a fear aura. Snowy also has a blindness effect.
