I remember this was brought up a while ago. The Character Modifcation Rooms in the spawns for both servers. ou can change your hair, head, voiceset, portrait. Heck, I could make a totally different character (at least from most of the looks) just using that room. So why are we not allowed to change colors? I know it works from code because we have the tatooists.
When this was suggested, I think a player pointed out that these actually were the reason why this didn't exist. Now, there is one thing about them people seem to not care about, and with so many players who are over level 20, I can see why this was said.
So, a little tangent, what do you do when you make a new character? You roll him up, activate your subrace, activate your domains (if any), and now you want to have that nice head, but you can't chose it on character creation. And now you realise, your normal human has black eyes and a totally unnatural hair color. I see three options: - 1. Go see a tatooist, I think there also is one for hair colors, visit him/her too, or - 2. Roll another new character, get them right ths time, which is only "semi-legal", or - 3. Visit a tatooist later.
Option one is annoying because changing your tatoos costs I think 100 gp each time, and each test counts as changing, which makes sence IC for an existing character, but I want my character to have tatoos and green eyes before he went to Endir's Point. The whole thing cost me around 1000 gp, which isn't much for a level thirty (what, 0.1% of max money, usually even less), but a newly created character pays a lot of the money he could spend on equipment instead your character looking the way you want.
Now, I get why people are concerned about this. A thirty could save his... uh... miniscule amount of money for madifying his looks. Then, could this be added as modification stations, but we say they are only usable by people under, maybe level three? Now, a newly created character at level 1/2 can use these tatoo recolors, but an old character needs to pay his money to have tatoos done?
So, to sum it up/ tl;dr: Add a free tatooist, hair color changer in the Character Modification Rooms, but they are only usable below a certain level threshold. This is to make your hair color appropriate to the new head, which might have different colored areas, or get your eye colors to normal colors.
