So, wondering if there's anyone interested in making a couple Red Wizards (or, better yet, their thralls) to validate the idea of building a Thayan Enclave in Cordor? Don't tell me what I need for that other than the support of others, I can discuss that with DMs as needed.
Ideally, we'd sell potions, scrolls, and wands for profit, while potentially selling drugs, slaves, etc. in secret, as Thayan Enclaves often do. Keyword: Potentially.
I realise that this is considerably difficult as the government would dislike any sort of Thayan presence. Who doesn't?
I'll answer any questions, drop by a message or just ask it here.

I was recently informed all Thayans are banned from Cordor. Any other ideas?

Try another city? Or even constructing a new building somewhere neutral? If there's any unclaimed land left. Or buy out Kampo. That's probably not possible though.

Try actually making a Thayan (if you haven't already) and start asking around.
You might be surprised with what you find.

I think pretty much every city in the server these days is hostile to Red Wizards on sight/knowledge of them, with their capability to actual deal with those depending on which city it is.

Darkhold, maybe? One hand it's secluded, portal-access (any wizard could make it an evil-only portal!) and basically lives up to its name. On the downside, it fulfills a much needed niche in leveling progression.

The only prominent group was as subtle as a kick in the nuts and mostly craved pvp, and they actually got some traction until a fateful event in Kohlingen where some things occurred that were obviously silly on both ends player and DM side.
If a real thayan faction came in that wanted to be low key, I think amia is in an era that could use a resurgence of cool villains and heroes to fight them.

We craved a challenge, sure, but not mindless pvp. We wanted to bring Amia a threat people would fear. To bring conflict. To make Amia great again. The people weren't ready for change. We all got true raised after the big screw up of Kohlingen, but we sorta lost our steam. Felt people didn't want us there IC or OOC. Then part of the group came back as the shifters : )

The fear should stem from influence and cunning and very realistic plans, not how good 10 shifters are at steamrolling every player on Amia.

This attitude is a huge part of the problem if I can be honest. Amia has a very bad tendency of ostracizing players who want to play something evil and are capable of backing their evil up with force in game. Even then I've noticed an awful tendency amia has toward treating the players of evil characters a certain way. There is a general feeling of being OOCly disliked among more than one of us. I mostly get around it by being a social butterfly, but I'm an extrovert. And the fact is there isn't really an imperative for evil characters to march under, no grand design for them to participate in or give them reason to join a DM organized faction or find themselves in a settlement like Tarkuul or Zanshibon, or Shadowscape. So most evil will be disjointed and pvp the dale as a side effect. It can't be helped if there isn't anything conducive toward that sort of role play in the setting. Players will try and induce their own brand of artificial conflict that will already have been stale for months on other characters, when there could be a dynamic brand of conflict oriented around goals. I think if there was a rallying cry then it would do a lot of good, drawing the battle lines would give people an enemy to fight and a reason for it. It would give factions a reason to exist again and make the whole server more interesting.

There was one shifter among the Thayans. The later group of shifters were unrelated to Thayans. And that was three shifters. And half the time it was two, since one was in a weird time zone. And, as Thayans, we had plans. We had influence. It wasn't about steamrolling. We actually didn't pvp that much. It was just that we were a big bad group winning when we actually did pvp. Scared people that we were organized evil. Or something.

Imma interject here, without any direction at the thayan folk whatsoever (with or against).
The attitudes expressed here on both sides seem largely volatile, and what things right now boil down to is a long series of spiteful grudges on either side -- good or evil.
What good folks need to remember is that they might not mechanically win 100% in player-versus-player engagements. That's just how the cookie crumbles down; and if you don't like it, you counteract it by simply working up a character that is mechanically stronger, playing to the flaws that that leaves you with, and dealing with not being above average everything which is imho honestly more fun. They also have to remember that the minute they stop fighting evil is the minute that any plot development breaks down to where the bad guys have to incite the conflict.
There's a shortage of folk willing to carry the status-quo protector torch, but a shit ton of people that keep the status quo anyway by focusing on 'one' area; and that's wrong.
What evil folks need to remember, on the other hand, is that just being bitter and presumptuous about the past isn't going to make it go away and it isn't reflective about the here-and-now. We're in an era where we can literally count our DMs on one hand; and depending on the hour of the day, we can count our players on our hands and feet put together. The idea of the server being 'out to get' evil is silly at best. To the contrary, see above, I would argue that right now noone actively concerns themselves with PC villains and is far more content to peddle around until DMs do stuff for them.
Which brings me to a point for both sides. Why does someone have to 'tell' you who you're fighting? Get out there and literally decide that ___ settlement is going to be yours, evils; and good guys, just decide that ____ is earning their way up on your list and start actually watching them.
The concept of cunning and careful plots goes both ways; and good guys, some days you gotta be more than a first responder team that moves when the tea party is interrupted.
As to address the actual OP; bud, I advise if you wanna kickstart a Thayan cell, you just jumpstart a mage collective in Wharftown/Tarkuul. It's way more all-encompassing to welcome any and all studied mages, and honestly with Tarkuul being as largely petrified as it is you'd probably be a welcome stir into things if you sparked up arcane research RP.

I'll admit my experience with Thayvians and Shifters is mostly second-hand, skewing my opinions somewhat. But has it actually been said that the Thayvians will no longer be allowed in Cordor ever?

Thayans have been banned and kill-on-sight in Cordor since the fateful day of the Cordor Orphanage Fire where a great deal of children, hospice caretakers, and other innocents died in a blaze in Cordor and the followup city wide combat that concluded in the sewers. This was also the culmination of the events that had already been gonig around the island about ousting their magic item enchantment enclaves, and their work with the Aurilites in trying to crystallize the weave - something that partly succeeded, and became was what later known was "The Mythal Phenomenon".
It's safe to say that Red Wizards of Thay and their supportive patriotic ilk will never again be truly welcome in the Amian region. Now, this isn't to say every Mulan, no, but if you publically identify was a Red Wizard, or as a supporter of Thay and her motivations, you can expect Cordor to deliver you a swift kick in the ass.

Thank you everyone for the inspiring speeches. I fully agree with the majority of you, Amia needs a proper villianous rallying. I haven't got that much to say on that since I've really only played neutral/hero characters, but obviously, that's going to change, isn't it? As for whoever came up with the idea for starting up a general research RP center, an Enclave is a fantastic place to start. Of course, don't go out and say we're an Enclave at first, as I totally get the place would be bombed on day two or three of the grand opening, but once we have a few people researching and could put out a good recommendation for the place, we might be able to openly say, "Yes, we're Red Wizards of Thay, but dismiss whatever you've heard or seen of us, we understand you'll kick our ass! Just ask these lovely people who have been working here for weeks!" So yes, research RP would be fantastic, since I've seen a few DM posts about magic changing rapidly in Amia. Now, I've actually gotta ask, who wants to join up with me as a Red Wizard? I've recently learned of certain abilities that Red Wizards have which become better and better in greater numbers, so if I could get six of you who would be willing to join in on the Thay-Train, we might just be able to do this, and do it well.
