**Scheduled Event, brought to you by Horace and Cosmik**

OOC:
Please do not show up for this event unless you are prepared to spend 5hrs or more in an RP event only. No combat involved, at all. Characters with good leadership skills/social skills will be favored for participation.

We are looking to begin this event at 1am GMT. Please be patient if we are a little later because of setting up.

IC:

"A famous actor disappears under mysterious circumstances the night before the debut of his latest role. Rumors abound of his death. Investigators are being sought by his bereaved wife to determine the guilty party. Anyone willing to help in the investigation should meet inside the theater lobby- the last place he was seen alive."

The date is Monday evening if you're in the states, early Tuesday morning if you're in Europe.

In fact the event starts in 20 hours from.... right.... NOW.

We are speaking GMT, right? So that translates to 9:00pm EST afaik. I'd love to be there, and I should be on by 9:00-9:30 EST Or.. is that too late? *winces* I don't mind a late start if you're setting up. And yes, I have easily 5 hours to devote to a scenario.

Yes, it begins at 9:00 EST. Even if 1 am GMT isn't 9pm EST, it STILL begins at 9pm EST, because that just means we got the GMT conversion wrong. ;)

Just a polite little bump, since the event is in three hours.

//I'd not mind going, I'm available.. I know its a bit soon. Not quite a bard or a Sorceror, but Reah definately has broad branched skills, and interest in such brain teasers and I do love a good who-dun-it.

it would have been nice to take part in this.

a great shame that an innocent player has had their cdkey banned because another player was caught talking about something they did at a previous time on their own computer & a different cd key.

i'd just like to point out that i'm totally the innocent here & have never done or intended to break any rules, intentionally or otherwise.

i really hope the dm's involved work that out and get round to letting me play again, i as a person and player have done nothing wrong, but i'm being punished for anothers bad actions while they are free to play on their own cd key at home.

Here's the real story for those who were involved. Hope you enjoyed.

What really happened that night

Radigan and Mango:
Radigan was determined to get the part of Nilbog, at any cost. Eliminating Flash would be necessary, but the timing was risky business. As a mere understudy, if he killed Flash too soon before the debut, he would run the risk of being replaced by another big-name incompetent. He long knew of Mango's devout love for his rival. The night of the final rehearsal, Radigan found Mango standing in his usual spot right in front of the theater doors, standing with his usual bouquet of flowers (long-since wilted). He leaked to Mango that Flash sneaks out the back just to avoid him, and Mango is, predictably, crushed. So, he runs home to fetch his best club, to return the favor. Mango returns with his club hidden (poorly) amidst his bouquet of flowers. Radigan leads him in through the back door by which Flash usually escapes, where Mango lays in wait. Radigan makes himself scarce, going home to rehearse his lines for the opening tomorrow. But Flash never shows up.

Detective Rinds:
When asked to investigate if Flash was having an affair, the detective stole one of his shirts and brought it to the Chamber Pot, where he had a local prostitute put some lipstick and perfume on it. He spent the rest of the night drinking there. The next day, he brought the shirt home to Mrs. Flannigan, to convince her of her husband's infidelity. After that, he returns to the Chamber Pot to buy a bottle of cheap wine, and he buys some hemlock from the gypsy. He attends the rehearsal, sneaking backstage towards the end of the performance to leave the bottle of poisoned wine in Flash's dressing room. He sees Radigan and Mango, and they see him, but they don't see the wine he's carrying. He heads back to Mrs. Flannigan to report that he told her husband's lover about his marriage, and that he fears the slighted lover might seek revenge. Flash never drinks the wine.

Mrs. Flannigan and the Butler:
Convinced of her husband's infidelity, the outraged Mrs. Flannigan approaches her butler - whom she knows has been trying to kill her husband for years - and gives him her wedding ring to sell in order to go to the Chamberpot and hire some thugs. He sees the detective there flirting with a whore and buying the bottle of wine (when he is supposedly tailing the husband), but he says nothing to his employer. The plan is that the thugs will wait just in front of the Flannigan household and ambush Flash as he comes home, killing him as he tries to enter the house and making the crime look like a robbery. Flash never comes home.

Alfonso "Flash" Flannigan:
Immediately following the performance, he puts on a disguise and sneaks out with the audience, pretending to be one of the critics who had come for the preview. Left behind in his dressing room is a note that he believes himself in grave peril, and is most likely already dead by the time someone reads it. He rents a room in Gabigathol's Brewery under an assumed name, and takes a long nap - blissfully unaware that anyone is actually attempting to kill him.

Hah! We were close. At least we got the right people. Even if the real comedy of errors behind the scenes didn't quite make it to the limelight.

Absolutely fantastic job on this mystery tale, with a stunning, shocking, and morbidly humorous conclusion. Whodathunk...

The butler. On the roof. With the tile. Genius.

Thanks, Horace and Cosmik, for once again putting together a fabulous adventure. I'm so happy Mango didn't kill Flash. I had a mountain of faith in my homosexual half-orc, and I'd have been distraught to find out he was a culprit.

Now you both owe me a membership card to the Amian Actor's Guild. 8)

I'm still reeling and giggling at the Butler, on the roof, with a tile, ending.

That alone is worth the hours...

...really the butler only beat Me, or Eary from doing it ourselves... God Flash was annoying.

I think Reah would've been faster with some insta-kill spell, Eary would'a just shot him to death... and... that takes a while.

>.>...Not that any of us wanted to kill Flash in the slightest once it all unfolded or anything...

*Rolls natural 20 bluff*
