Lyle wipes away the most recent mural, muttering mostly about damn kids and making comparisons with Cordor.

*Okra Cobcruncher has been seen walking about the area often in recent days. At times kneeling on the ground seemingly looking at something, other times standing at the blocked entrance to the Underground Lake scratching his hairless chin. At times he is seen in every corner of the area from the pass to the Mylock lands to the path leading to Amia Forest as well as at various points on the Riverbank. He returns to town with a plump pouch in his hands, deflects any questions about his activities always saying he's in a hurry to find his brother Ukre, and then rushing off to the Inn where he closes the door to his room.*

From the openings of the forest trees, Willow watches Okra suspiciously. She shifts into a wolf form and watches his every move while he's in view, watching his body language. Once Okra leaves, she runs off to find with Din Dae deeper into the forest.

*Okra is also seen lately in his work clothes shoveling manure and cleaning out barns/stables for the local farmers and the cart men. He returns from his labors reeking of dung and with an ample amount of farm detritous still clinging to his boots and trousers, though he wears a satisfied smile on his face.*

A note is left on Nof's desk:

Dear Mayor.

While trading goods today with Jayek, a Gnome, head to toe in blood, ran in with some Militia escourting her to the healing pool of Yondalla. The Militia walked off when she was healed but she seemed to be in a bit of a frenzy. As Militia seemed busy at said time, I asked the Gnome what was wrong, I was then told Drow attacked her north, near the Amian forest but not in it (// Near the transition).

I scouted there and in the Forest, to find people wearing Children's costumes to lure Llothites who are prowling the area. I thought this was a good idea and left.

So my request to you Mayor, is we need some Militia members guarding both gates at the Northwest and Northeast for Drow attacks.

*a rectangular ceramic planter appears between Dunkar's stall and the Hinn Inn along the wall in a sunny spot. It's adorned with paintings of flowers and vegetables along the front. On one end of the planter a rough but fresh painting of a "Cornucopia on a shield" is placed that is obviously done in the hand of a rank amateur and is unlike the more standard and professional images elsewhere on the item. Four sticks, dyed in different colors, have been placed into the soil within the planter along the edge in an evenly spaced row that extends from one end of the planter to the other. The soil within is freshly turned and well watered. A small wooden sign is stuck in the corner of the planter that says "Do not disturb". The handwriting is unrecognizable.*

Willow is seen a bit less around the Dale and when she does come around, she seems down on her luck and a bit sad, gloomy even. She mostly keeps to herself and sits around by herself, seemingly in thought.

*Those who would both normally have some means to see through invisibility up, who could beat a DC 57 Hide/MS, and would bother to even be searching in the area in a such a manner, would have a slight chance on certain nights to notice Ukre around the back of the Dale, up to much of the same activity as Okra above, particularly in one spot, however his fast movement and quick hands would make it difficult to tell what he was doing exactly, though those with some insight (//i.e., Wis) might be able to figure it out, especially if they had noticed Okra already.*

In the dead of night when nothing is waking, another painting appears though this one takes a slightly serious tone. The painting is obviously of a drow poking his nose about in the exterior areas of the dale. The drow is obviously tall though his facial features are blurred as if the artist didn't get a good look at him.

Beneath the painting is written in red text.

Drow wolf sniffing about, failed to answer a challenge, darted off to the north.

*The planter stays well watered and any weeds that pop up vanish almost as quickly as they appear. Small green sprouts begun to form aligned with the locations of the sticks....its still too early to determine what they may grow into until they develop a bit more. Okra is not seen tending planter and goes about his normal duties but continues to be seen North of the river in various places, including the hilltop overlook. He is also spending a good deal of time in Kibs turfhouse looking at the merchandise and "browsing"*

//No one notices who is watering and weeding the planter unless you are making a specific effort to determine it which you can note here with a spot check.

//If you are a druid or cleric with plant domain and observe the planter you will recognize what's growing and can PM me for the details.

// I was glancing over the Big Book of Small Folk, and noticed under the ghostwise entry for language that it mentions their PnP talent for telepathy.

Quote:
Language and Literacy
Because of their peculiar racial talent of telepathy, the ghostwise hin do not learn tongues other than their own with as much frequency as other races.

Since the DM staff has completely, utterly, absolutely, expressly, and under pain of eternal damnation in and on Hells 4-9, forbidden any and all forms of telepathy, maybe this should be removed and something put in about the Amia specific work around of [Ghostwise Sign Language] that many with ghostwise characters use. A very tribal form similar to some native american tribal hand languages, but far less intricate than Drow Sign.

Otherwise, someone using the BBoSF to research ghostwise before making a character might incorrectly assume that they have telepathy and try and use tells or something to simulate it. (Speaking from experience from long, long, ago well before the book was made.)

It also didn't mention that some of the more devout and regretful GW hin took vows of silence until their percieved "Shame" regarding Malar and the Ghost wars is forgiven in the eyes of their tribe. (Vows made much more difficult without the one way telepathy.) This rare group, calling themselves "Silent Ghosts", do not even speak the halfling language aloud, although they do know it.

Belladonna reads the note and frowns at first, then she reads it again and smiles.

Having wandered for all her adult life with very few people to call friends she is pleased to have somewhere that can she settle for at least a little while.

She shrugs and leaves the note as it is so others might see it.

*Tak Rosen reads the note and takes it down.*

*shaking his head, he can be heard musing*

We may wander, but we do settle...and we protect our homes, our kin and our hearth. Even if it may be our temporary home. It is only right and good to do so...for the good of the community. A community that endures...so that all who wander may find a place with a warm fire, ready companions and good cheer.

*moves back to the gate where he may cheerfully great all who would visit the dale*
