Okay cheers ... the only boat I knew of went through dwarf-town, and another DM told me there was no way. Now that I know there is, I can go search.

Between the ears, ID-10-T, "Lrn2play", Can't script for player incompetence, etc etc.
No, the trolls are not the same. It is a mixture of large and small trolls, which might be the same as in Skull Crags. The small ones give 1 xp to a level 12 character. In the beginning, they are mixed with huge trolls, later on there are only huge trolls, which give either 10xp or 20 xp to the same level 12 character. There is nothing in their appearance that separates the 10 xp from the 20 xp. These trolls are rougher, takes more hits and deal more damage than the small ones. A group of some small and some large is a lot of fight for just about 20-30 xp.
"Lrn2play".... yes, I do. But sometimes, I have a feeling that the testing of new areas are made with parties of powerbuilds, which give ordinary characters problems to both survive and gain xp when the areas are let loose to the community.

They are exactly the same, I only changed their skin and name.
Small troll = Mountain Troll
Big troll = Mountain Troll Guard
Huge Troll = Troll boss
You can say they are different, but they simply aren't. I literally copied the trolls from B without changing anything but the cosmetics and the AI. The AI doesn't give them extra HP or whatever, it doesn't give them a different CR either.
Here are the stats I got in the critter database
Mountain Troll (Amia A)
Giant 5
Fighter 5
STR 16
DEX 14
CON 15
INT 6
WIS 10
CHA 8
CR 7.0
AC 17
HP 55
Race Giant
Hide Monsters, Mountain Troll
Claw Claw1d6
Bite Bite1d6
Cave Troll (Amia B)
Giant 5
Fighter 5
STR 16
DEX 14
CON 15
INT 6
WIS 10
CHA 8
CR 7.0
AC 17
HP 55
Race Giant
Claw Claw1d6
Bite Bite1d6
Seems I forgot to import the hide of the ones on B, which would make them even easier.

Yep, the trolls on B don't seem to regenerate. Which makes them quite easy to take down at lower levels, if only you can survive, because they're not regenerating at the same rate you deal damage, which is the biggest thing keeping low-AB PCs from taking them on in the Crags. We just took them on last night, two lvl 7-8 non-powerbuilt clerics (well, mine at least is weak atm), and did just fine.
I've been playing B a lot lately. I've made it a goal of mine to explore the areas as I level up, so that I can experience most of them when I'm supposed to, level-wise. I'll try to take a look at the A while I'm at it, because there's tons of places I've never been to player-wise. I must say, going from Wiltun to Caraigh, and finally braving the Frozenfar, felt like playing a whole new expansion. I daresay many of the B areas are some of the best design on Amia, though that's a trend with many recent areas. It doesn't feel at all like the Disneyland Cordor of old (the new one's not bad) or the vanilla mountainside of the beetles, in the Crags, etc. I had some of the most fun RP in ages, exploring those areas with a few other PCs.

some joined up underwater areas would be nice, is there a way to maybe link all the underwater areas on Amia? whether by portals or transitions or whatever? Just a thought i had whilst thinking about sea areas on Amia...

Well, the Sea of Fallen Stars isn't connected to big oceans, so it'd have to be portals. One would need some explanation as to why the Alamber sea just happens to be connected to the Trackless Sea just near Amia island.

Well, there was a whole novel trilogy about building a channel to connect the watermasses, the Watercourse Trilogy. The architect destroyed it before it was finished, or so I'm told (can't be arsed to read it), but it's a viable option to connecting them. The option's always there, if we need to do it.

To quote a Limp Bizkit song which offers excellent advice.
"Keep trollin' trollin' trollin' trollin' on. Keep trollin' trollin' trollin' trollin' on. Hand uppa hands down, back up back up, tell me what you gonna do now!"
(Yes It's not an EXACT quote)

I just got back to Amia after a looong break,I was immpressed to see b-mia
and with a little encouragement took a trip there with my new rp friend.
Shes a 3-4 lvl druid im a 7ish lvl ftr /rog,we met up witha 4th lvl monk and had a whale of a time!
Im no powergamer,I cant build to save my (chars) life,i only know the basics
and as I said havnt played for a while, but with a little teamwork and tactics
we did really well,XP and RP wise,so i really cannot understand all these posts saying its just for Epics.
Plus ,its tons of new stuff to explore! whats not to like?:)

I'm planning on leveling my Snow Elf to 7-9 on Amia, then see if it's possible to solo my way to 30 (partying up when possible) solely on Bmia.

Since this is a Amia B thread I figure this'd be a good place to ask... is there actually anyone who sells Raise Dead Scrolls in Wiltun?

Nearly all noobs will die in the first quest (under the stairs) without some form of extra help (other party members, epics buffing you, buying a misty potion etc).
They really have to do the speedies quest in Cordor first before coming to Amia B. Is there a way that the little boy in the pantry could give them a misty potion or something to complete the quest solo?

Just use the Teleporter at the top of the fortress, go to Ne'sek, buy scrolls from Jaya Undt, and come back?

You ask about, explore, and find it the old-fashioned way. It's what? Three transitions away? Seriously, not difficult. The lack of Raise scrolls makes sense for Wiltun, as I've yet to see a dedicated NPC Cleric who lives there, scribing and providing the things.
So, in short- Ask around or do some legwork. There's only so much that can be handed to someone on a silver platter.

I think someone coming to the server for the first time and starting on B would, in all seriousness, give up. Especially since there's often maybe 1 other person on if that sometimes.
A very green person needs a starting pointer in the right direction and I'm sick of getting tells by green noobs asking nearly the same thing over and over. Being, "what is the starting quest here"?
Give them the starting quest on a plate, make it very easy to find, after that, leave them to it....
On Amia A there's speedies, in Wiltun, there's nothing for a starter quest that's easy about it.

Starter Quest Concept. Delivering rations, water buckets and other such military based essientials to the guards around the castle on the behalf of the aid guy in the throne room.
Same thing as speedies, but very much more Wiltun like.

I support that wholeheartedly. The people under the stairs is a cool quest - but I've only done it at level 3+. Getting level 3 itself is kinda supposed to be a freebie to show you the various places around teh starter area.
I'd suggest that you have to somehow interact with the various travel providers, like the fisherman who takes you to Caraigh, and mayhaps something that sends you upstairs to where the portal to Khem is. That's just like the point behind speedies.

To me, what I've read just sounds like older players complaining that B-mia doesn't breastfeed them and dress them like A-mia does. You must ask yourself though: "Do I want to waste Disco's time which he could be spending improving the server with new and better areas? Or do I want to fill B-mia's finite space with stuff I could easily get on A-mia if I just spent an extra 10 minutes of my time?"
If you want an easy passage to level 3 and newb gear, take the extra 10 minutes out of your time to DC spam. One less RPer on A-mia and one more RPer on B-mia won't cause the end of the world, no matter how much they try to explain how depriving them of overcrowded and laggy conditions will kill them. Another 10 minutes of your time, Speedys is done and you have your newb gear. Jump server again. It is so simple.
20 minutes is all it takes.
The fact that you guys want to waste Disco's time with something that's not neccessary and save some of your own time is not only unneccessary, it's selfish. Amia's not just for your own enjoyment, there's others to consider aswell.

@Galenson
anything that cuts down the number of tells asking me where this, that and the other is, is a blessing. I don't care myself, i can find nearly everything on the server. I'm just feeding off the tell hell i get daily on B from newbs asking for help. Its a strong signal to me that its not newb friendly enough upon entry to Wiltun.

I think it is pretty fair proposal really, if it makes B-mia more populated. I must admit that with my new character (a monk) I found A-mia much friendlier than B-mia. More people to party with, easier fights for the most part, more intuitive area designs (just walk out the gate and you are at a lowbie area) and a starter quest for level 3.
I tried B, my character got repeatedly flogged (even the goblins or whatever they are under the stairs seemed tougher than on a-mia). You have to remember that a new player coming to this server, starting on B, is giving the server a chance...if he or she doesnt have a good experience first go, they will quit.

How intuitive is Speedy's, really? If you don't know about him, you'd have to visit a few houses before you find him, mm?
Or, I might be wrong, is there some mention of him in the journal?

It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure no one ever talks about speedies... it's usually because level 2's ask a DM or other PCs. Word of mouth.

I'll add Raise scrolls. Actually assumed they were sold in Wiltun. I didn't make a speedy quest because a) how big is Wiltun? b) it's a piece of moronic crap. Need to think of some other way to give you starter money and half a level.

The quest is fine as long as one of the first spawn drops a high value loot. Then you can afford a Misty potion and/or stack of bandages and go back and dust the rest. Otherwise you need to be a Ghostly Visage caster or you're kinda SOL.
Get the wee lad to give you a bundle of bandages or a Misty potion before you go in?

I believe the tour guide or one of the other NPCs right inside the Temple of Cordor mentions Speedy's Delivery Service if you ask them about ways of accumulating gold.

Actually, when Xal used to loiter in Cordor before being kicked out, he used to direct newbies icly to speedies all the time. That was about a month ago he was kicked out. Speedies is also used for delivering ic messages via tells.
I'm also gonna make a suggestion to people whom have plans against Cordor....there are orders being delivered guys....Wonder what they are.
