Dropping dead for no reason? You've been chopped to minus zero and been sucking in mud through your near fatal wounds for over 3 turns, and you clearly don't even have the strength to swallow a healing potion.

Most people die a lot healthier than that.

I've always looked at it like this. When the baddies keep swinging on you when your bleeding out, they've happened to notice your still breathing and not quite dead. Seems logical that they'd want to finish the job. Also, is it really that far fetched for some CE evil Monster to just keep hacking at corpse for the mere pleasure of it? When they don't, they mistakenly have assumed your dead and you get a shot at a lucky break. It sounds like the OP has just had bad luck with it, has never seen the benefits of the system, and thinks it's a silly waste of time. I think every one of my characters has stabilized and been able to save their skin, not to mention a whole party. On more than one occasion I've had one of my characters stabilize, drop a Heal, kill the rest of the baddies, and then raise the rest of the party.(yes even in epic hunting areas) Like Athyonn posted earlier, it feels like your "lucky day". I'm perfectly fine with it as is.

It's better than nothing! There's a fair chance of stabilizing and/or hanging on to life long enough to be healed by party members. Sure, it would be cool if it worked like a charm, but I can imagine it'd be hell to look into. I can think of several things in the works that I'd rather see on Amia ASAP, instead of a minor tweak like this.
