When I clicked on the "New Logo" thread I got a page come up detailing the following:

Quote:
Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer!
The website at www.amiaworld.net contains elements from the site www.thievesguild.cc, which appears to host malware – software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer.

What's that about?

If you attempt to open his avatar's URL, even on firefox, you get a warning.

Has he changed it recently or something? It's never caused this issue before.

Yup. Any thread that he posts in will give you the same warning. He must be the devil! :o

...Or not, really. Just depends on who you talk to.

Also, I don't get the warning. So if he's harming my computer, then I'm not seeing it. I wouldn't worry too much. (Unless someone says otherwise, at least.)

Isnt Chrome that program which sends your web-(ab)using data to google so they can stuff AD's down your throat at every possible moment?

I don't get ads from google, unless the website has google ads. *shrugs* In any case, I ignore the ads. Chrome won't give you more ads than if you were using Firefox or I.E.

Edit: *takes xordae's hint and downloads Opera*

Yea, but will FF tell you that the source of that image is from dangerous sites in the first place to say which images to block? Mine sure hasn't.

Nope, sure hasnt.

But then again what should be expected by a web-browser?

I don't want some random screensiffers calculating my online behaviour so they can recommend the best shampoo to buy. Yeah I know, google aint that bad but the data is for something!

FF might be collecting data from me too, but I still use it since I'm a conservative bastard when it comes to web-browsers (and FF purrs if you caress it enough).

Conclusion: No browser in the world is going to keep its user 100% safe from the evilness of the internet.

Yes, this is Wolfking's avatar, not our logo. Our logo is hosted on www.amiaworld.net, as pretty much everything on the website.

So, avatar must be changed! Else we'll go all admin on you!

Hehe, yea. I didn't think it was ever the new spiffy logo. It was something in the thread that was spoiling my experience.

On another site I've seen the admins change them to slippers.
Just save the picture, upload and disaster avoided!

Tormak's Law.

No, no. That was actually an accurate invocation of Godwin's Law, and thus not an invocation of Tormak's Law.

I've had my Avatar for about a month now, and it hasn't caused any problems.

I'll change it in a moment though, since it seems to be causing people trouble. Or at least take the picture and upload it to photobucket.

Edit; Just changed.
I'm still at a loss as to what 'malware' is, to be honest. I use a Mac so I don't get bugged by most things like that.
I asked Nekhy in a PM but never got a response, so... >_>

Yay for a Mac. 4 years and no 'Malware'.

Anyways, removed the Avatar, I'll photobucket it sometime soon.

There's another Tormak's Law? Mine says that anytime Nazis or the like are mentioned in a thread, Tormak will inevitably post something about Godwin's.

IE and windows should never be used in combination, virus central, FF all the way, and opera urgh, way too controling imo last time I saw opera.

I'm not sure controlling is an adjective I would use to describe a browser. After all, you are the one controlling it. Oh and beat that!
