Okay I've been mulling this over for awhile, and it's the Build Thread's Fault before you ask.
When I see the thread, I often get Ideas for a character, however I rarely run with them, mainly because I don't have much time, and that time I spend on the game, I prefer to spend on my main - otherwise I'll make another character and drift aimlessly.
So this is basically the beginning of the Orphaned Character Idea's Thread in a sense, in that you can all post ideas you've had but never developed, even though you thought they were pretty neat.
I'll start.
Having just glanced at the build thread, I saw the discussion on archers and wondered if a human fighter base archer would be fun, with the RP of the sort like that of the contemporary urban sniper (silent, watchful and not concerned with how damn cool he is even though hes mighty cool), with the spot skill to match.
Go nuts, and post here if you've used one of these ideas as well, it wouldn't be cool to see 5 Sniper Jones online tomorrow.

I played with the idea of having a devcritting epic dodging hipsing fey. SD/bard/RDD, with a real evil and mean like disposition, shanking everyone who look down on fey. I blame Mathan for putting the idea in my head in the first place.
Then of course, I came to my senses, and took a long shower to clean off the dirty thoughts and chastised myself with my razor by cutting off the stalks of hair from my chins! Never ever again will I think of RDDs!

I have the same sort of problems with me, but I end up drifting back to my Main after a while.
Lets see...
The stereotypical dwarf, basically good but would kill anyone who dares touch his ale.
The stereotypical half-orc barbarian, incredibly dumb but incredibly strong; CN, easily swayed to good or evil depending on who can manipulate him most.
A bard that actually sings songs in-game, not just by pressing the bard's song button.
An elderly human wizard, whos hair is graying and seems to be physical fragile.
A cleric that actually isn't a battle cleric, and isn't a salandran.
I've got more, give me some time to dig through my vault.
Also, I think numbers meant RP character ideas as well as build characters.
Hah, I've toyed around with the idea of creating a clever Wizard, but, due to an unfortunate accident mixed with a permancency spell, his left arm is animated on its own, possessing a mind of its own. Untying his shoe when he goes to tie it, yanking his trousers down, and being.... interesting, while he's casting spells.
So, he'd have to sit on his hand, get in slap fights with it, and stop it from casting spells on people.
A while ago I considered making a request for a sentient gelatinous cube. It would constantly ooze around looking for living things to absorb, and over time as it absorbed more and more creatures it would become increasingly dangerous.
The problems were:
1. I wasn't sure what class to make it.
2. I wasn't sure if I would be interested in the character long enough to justify 10 DCs on a reskin.
3. I was pretty sure that someone would slap me.

Was a good idea, unfortunatly I wanted to use Crossbows, but Crossbows don't use Zen Archery, which is a shame since I see Clerics more likely to use Crossbows then Bow's. Also the decent arrows are only avaliable to those classes that are obscenely sneaky.

Zen archery does work for all missile weapons btw.

A hin monk with weapon focus on quarterstaff.
A shadovar rogue with the health of a snail.

Several goblin and kobold characters.
A gnome monk.
A dwarf paladin that uses a quarterstaff.
A feytouched bard.
A sunelf ranger.
A mute earth genasi.
A rogue/wizard, intended to have lots of skill points for levels.

Alternatively, a "housekeeper" mage, who has minimal magic spells, cantrips and maybe some low levels, for aiding in simple chores, but otherwise being a typical (for the time) lady of the house, keeping the serfs inline, making sure the curtains are well beat, and the dustbunnies corralled, as opposed to being a scholarly type.

Yeah, the oozemaster is my character. It's a prestige class from the Masters of the Wild sourcebook. Here're the details...
Seeping out of every crack and crevice in the dungeon is some foul, monochromatic substance that adventurers wish wasn’t there. Just when they get around the yellow mold, green slime drips from the ceiling. Quite often, such abominations well up naturally, but occasionally they are placed by a more deliberate hand—that of the oozemaster.
The oozemaster is not a class for stable individuals. It involves relating one-on-one with things that relate to nothing at all. Unlike the animal lord’s kindred creatures, the oozemaster’s charges have nothing to say. No one has yet developed a speak with ooze spell—or if someone has, the oozes haven’t responded.
Given that oozemasters exude everything but confidence, most of them have few sentient friends and even fewer guests. Thus, they tend to gibber and talk to themselves a lot. Characters of any spellcasting class can become oozemasters, though the class tends to be most appealing to druids, wizards, and—oddly—bards (who usually end up taking another direction before this one gets too creepy). Assassins, already masters of poison, find the benefits of this prestige class highly compatible with their line of work. Clerics, however, had better think about what their followers might say before taking this path. A cleric of Vecna’s followers might think him clever for becoming an oozemaster, while followers of a cleric of Pelor might seek a new spiritual leader. Racially, half-orcs and gnomes are more suited to this class than elves and half-elves, most of whom consider themselves too refined for this basest of prestige classes.
The drow, of course, are exceptions, since it was they who created this class in the first place. Certainly, the first oozemaster was a dark elf, though how this magic got out of the subterranean depths is a mystery best left unprobed. Hit Die: d8.
Massivewalloftext ahoy. Sorry for the poor spacing.

I had the concept of making a duel wielding dex based fey paladin/monk with 8 attacks of 63/61/59/57/55/53/51/63 just to prove how stupid the subrace was. But I decided to sleep on it and I woke up with the topic: "The DM team hates Feys! Suck on the DC request fethwipes!"
The 1000HP build (i think i stopped at lvl 5 or so)
The 30monk pixie (switched to monk/SD... abandoned char)
A build with 14druid levels yet having dragonshape (no longer possible since nwn 1.69) so I could dump the rest on monk and stuff for a buttload of extra cheese.
Bard/PM/AA for a crit immune AA with epic dragon knight
(sucked)
Bard/Rogue/RDD for a dev crit epic dodging wood elf
(sucked)
HIPS'ing Raksasha
HIPS'ing Dragonshape
Not abandoned:
The build with all shiftershapes (except for elementals)

1) (Male) For now, i'm curently thinking of a drow Bard 23 / BG 4 / PM 1 that end with 74 AC, Div might/Shield NO Dev Crit.
The RP idea is to get involve in Ultrinan stuff, then drop the society an launch propaganda against the lolthies.
It's Vez'fein character that got me thinking about this. As for now, im looking to make bad guys for my RP to get better, it got me thinking a lot more than my simple Elf powerbuild that got 8 WIS and sometimes act like a child 8P
2) (Males) No matter the build, the idea of 3 drow brothers crossed my mind. They would require the same build as the idea is they always compete, sometimes fight between each other but live togethers. I never realy got into that idea to much since it require 3 character to be active at the same time, most of the time.
3) (Female) Elven/Drow Bard 8-10 / BG 3 / AA 17 with arrow of death average DC 43-44.
Pure build dedicated to assassination, weak PvM and PvP if the arrow fail and if vs many foes.
RP side was pretty sweet since you need to remain your assassin identity hiden and the female part as i never tried female.
i might remember more ideas later on.
A shame i dont have the time >.<

wizard/palemaster/champion of torm
worships torm but can control undead unwilling to his own will LN
three aasimar blackguard siblings who are all LE and im only giving a very simple description of my thoughts
one is a blackguard of hoar taking everything said to him/her as vital offense and creating a strange version of so said poetic justice. this char would basically create their own karma and when hurting someone would tell them that he/she is doing the victim a favor by sacrificing him/her self to hoars karma, for to inflict bad things upon the victim obviously the victim will be returned with good things
the next worships kelemvor praying to ask kelemvor if it is his enemies time to be judged, if his prayer is ignored no matter how evil and how badly he likes he can not kill them until he can pray again and know it is their time to go.
the third and last is helm whom i would make protect a weak assassin from a paladins judgement and also this hoar worshipper would protect her/his siblings from all.
so basically they would have no allies besides themselves, unfortunately, lack of people. was thinking one could be bg/cleric then bg/sorcerer then bg/fighter
also i was thinking of a char who when out fighting wore nothing but that odd looking pitch black and when in casual clothes wore nothing but that weird pure white. these two clothing would represent a dramatic change in her personality between white being nice, shy, innocent, cute, and funny. While the black would be vicious, insane, blood loving, lustful, and pretty much over the top blood spilling maniac. she would be True Neutral and worship Shar, her condition mysteriously linked to the rumor of selune and shar being two gods in one entity, but perhaps it isnt >.>
and if youll look below my post i already have too many characters lol

I believe he intended to point out that each of these concepts are only 'potential' characters and had not yet been made by the people posting them, despite their interesting role play (or lack thereof).

Tch. Disco can attest to my housekeeping "skills".
I have so many failed character concepts... in fact my vault is filled with them. But they fail because I lack the time to play them.
I have a tiefling rogue/assassin, a hathran, a Kiaransaleen drow cleric, a fortune teller, a silver dragon disciple kobold and... and.. tons more.
I don't have orphaned concepts, just orphaned characters. I always make my ideas into characters... and then drop them after spending all my DCs on leveling them.
I always wanted to make this character, who studies all facets of the circle of life, from birth to death and beyond, considering death as just one phase in the evolution of the soul, as birth is, and the whole a completely natural process with no 'evil' about it. Could even work reincarnation in there for an entire 'cycle of existence' thing (there used to be a PnP spell 'Reincarnation'). The PC would be true neutral and would probably summon undead in the same way that druids summon animals, treating it more as a 'request for aid' than an order.
But DMs pooh-poohed the idea. Hmf.
I would still like to try it...

A death-druid is possible. I actually find the concept very interesting. Just not with druid/PM class combo. Undeath is unnatural, no matter how you try to bend it. Death is natural.

Here's a thought to consider:
Some of these concepts you aren't sure you'd wanna play on an extended basis? Look at the Job system, and see if you can find an angle for them to play with to be integrated into it and into the potential community that'll be coming for them
I know for a fact I have a character concept ready to build as soon as the Job System goes in that will need to require a DC request made as soon as reasonable that's meant to fit with his early niche. *Nekh knows of what I speak, and I shall put the request up at the appropriate time*
To add: In this case, the Job system is more a means to an end (I want to actually with my own eyes test how well the Job system can provide experience, as opposed to hunting simply because of what this character is more meant to be conceptually. I know it's not meant to be a complete replacement, but now that it's coming I am curious)

Not to be an ass, but can posts contain ideas or not be made please, Posts soliciting help in developing characters might be cool as well if you have a concept you're not quite certain of... and of course, bring on the spare ideas :)

One thing I thought would be so great to see:
2 characters. Build pretty much irrelevant. One good, one evil, played as the nemesis to each other.
BUT, not played as "Oh, it's Bob. *smite/stabby/kill* ". I'm really talking about rp based nemesis'. The good guy trying to convert the evil one, working with him on things with a common end, but of course, with different goals. And the evil wanting to reach his goals, but unwilling to kill his lifelong "friend".
Yeah, I know, it's a tad cliche, and has been done (Prof. X, Magneto, for example). But cliche or not, I personally think it's a lot more realistic than the pvp-happy style of foes, and surely opens a lot more room for interaction, character development, roleplay in general, goals to achieve, non-build-related conflict resolution.
Alas. I rather doubt I'll get to participate in such a thing, if only because I'm honestly not sure if I could pull it off on my end. I've minimal experience in any sort of rivalry where I wouldn't love to see my opponent run over by a bus, so it'd be hard to know what to say, how to act, when that was the one thing I *wouldn't* want to have happen, while still wanting to win, and being frustrated (icly) when my goal fails, but unwilling to do or allow the one thing that would guarantee the opponent could no longer foil my plans.
I've only seen one instance of roleplay, done exceedingly well (imho), that was ~anything~ like this. One player was a DM, and the other long gone from nwn in general (as far as I know). They were not "lifelong enemies" or such though. Was just one "event".

I wanted to make a Earth-Gensai-Copper-Dragon-Disciple with the sole purpose of hitting the magic +20 str mod on dice rolls.
I came to the conclusion he would:
Look like a Scaly rock.
Smell like a Scaly rock.
Hit like a Scaly rock.
Heave a heavy-flail with 3 1/3rd meter cubed Tungsten heads.
19.3gm per cu/cm
453.592gm per lb
Each head = 1529lb. or 693 kilos.
He'd call it 'Tonnes of Fun'

That's an awesome idea. The whole 'I have learned of the creation of life in my early years, what now happens beyond it?' is cool. The character is forever faced with a question, well 'the' question when you think about it. If the druid truly believed in reincarnation and the perpetuity of the soul then how unnatural is 'undeath'?
If the soul is immutable and is rewarded or punished through the incarnation it receives in it's next life then how un-natural is it for the Druid to call back souls to perhaps redeem themselves somewhat.
Pure Lich-hood would be unnatural as it would trap the soul permanently, but to offer a chance to upgrade ones next body by serving a good cause is not so bad. Clearly this wouldn't fly for a Cleric or Paladin, but a Druid...
This is growing on me hugely, it's the only way I can think of to make a good PM. Soul Shepards or something, instead of sending a soul to Purgatory or to the Hells or reincarnating them as a leech they offer the chance at redemption by aiding their cause.
If reincarnation is the root of their faith, a very Druidic concept if you ask me, then how can it be bad? It would also be a great faith for Monks to subscribe to. Druid/PM as the 'clergy', Monks as the warriors or messengers of the order.
EDIT: The Death Taint of the Pale Master would undoubtedly lead this into being a very insular Order but is easily explained as being a side effect of the constant contact with negative planes when recalling 'lost souls' to fulfill their penance. The group would also face persecution from people like the Church of Kelemvor but makes for a great concept. I would definitely make this character if there were others interested.
EDIT 2: They could just as easily be a Cult that has been hoodwinked by an evil god sending false visions. This is making it more and more appealing...

Because undeath, ie read skeletons, zombies ghosts liches, bone arms and everything like that is unnatural and thus goes heavely against druid oaths. I would expect a druid like this to be as zealous against undead as a kellie would, after all undead are not following the natural order of things.
No one get angy, but please note the MASSIVE FOCUS on reincarnation. The body is a shell, just a simple empty vessel. The soul is the essence of what is natural, nothing else matters.
That is why liches would be the arch enemy of a group like this. Undeath in perpetuity would be the ultimate sacrilege; but to call a soul back to their old form to redeem themselves, to offer a faster step to enlightenment and Paradise, would be the greater good.
Likewise Necromancers who aspire to Lichhood would be considered an ultimate evil.
EDIT: Add to this any Undead that have a soul binding in their 'lore'.
