I'm not sure who else worked with you on the concept for the Job System but I want to say "Thank you" to you and them as well.
The reasons for these thanks are varied but I will attempt to not ramble and keep my thoughts in order.
Firstly I wish to thank you for the most relaxing week on Amia that I've ever had since fist joining well over a year ago. At first, I was skeptical about the job system. I looked over the PDF for it and immediately had horrific visions of WoW-esque grinding through jobs for pittances.
Then I made my first bottle of juice. I'm not certain I can describe the euphoric feeling from that without using terms that exceed a PG rating.
Secondly, thank you for the exploration that this freed up. I know, I know in an idyllic server, exploration of maps and such should happen all the time. I'm not going to blow smoke up anyone's end and say that most people just revisit the same spots for nostalgia. They do so because many maps are well known for loot/exp grinding. This is not a disparaging comment, simply something that is known to happen.
This system frees up 'hunting' maps and returns them to what they really are in my opinion. Adventures. A group of intrepid explorers, mercenaries, adventurers, etc going out into an area because they genuinely wish to go there and battling the man eating creatures that inhabit the place. No map squabbling of "We were here first!/Should we leave?/GTFO!". It eases so much pressure in that area or will do so in the near future.
When my level 23 ran around with a level 30 in a level 10 area for RP exploration...and the other person expressed concern about leaving party so that I could get exp. Well...again, I'm not sure I can describe the genuine feeling of pleasure to be able to say 'No, don't worry about it. You're alright and so am I. We're just here to explore.'. I'm sorry people but we know that as even moderately considerate human beings, we have worried in the past that our exp/gold nulling presence in a party made us the object of loathing to the rest of the members.
Knowing that my gal could go and sit to tend her herbs was so amazingly Zen that I simply smile thinking about it.
Thirdly, thank you for this on behalf of the RP builds. Yes I know, people hate that term but really and truly I can't think of a better term for players that are here purely for the goals of their PC. For the followers of Eldath, thank you. For the Salandrans that don't fight, thank you. For the pacifists, the fainters, the child like in heart that do NOT want to pick up a blade ever, Thank You!
This gives them the means to support themselves in ways that aren't limited any longer as well as encourages interaction and cooperation between players on a more than superficial level.
Fourthly, thank you for spreading these resources out so that exploration is encouraged. I think I've seen more people in the last week on distant maps than I have the whole month one of my PCs wandered around on them. Thank you for the wonder, thank you for the marvel, thank you for the peace this system has brought.
....now about that juice...*grins*

You should also thank Mahtan who did lotsa testing and worked on the manuals, and a few players (for example pharax, Grymia, and Ts_) who filed me big bug reports.
I wonder who has the guts to grumble about bugs and missing things in a system that is still under work, and which the maker is actively trying to fix as quickly as humanely possible?

You did a great job Disco. As annoyed that I am that my Salandran's main source of income is gone *fumes* the new system for crafting pots/kits seems a lot more balanced and expansive than the old.
All in all the new system is grand and I think you did a brilliant job.

But seriously, can't wait to get back in game to see.. eventually. I'm sure it'll work beautifully, even if there are bugs to iron(angel) out before someone breaks their neck(bet) so we can all have a disco. (Couldn't find a way to plug Yoss in there... drats)

Not me at least! *cough* Of course it's great that Disco has bothered to create such an awesome system and all, but for me it just causes lag, fuss and bother. Great if other people love it, I kind of love it as well, but mainly I just grumble about it.
Perhaps when I can be arsed to adapt to it, I will learn to appreaciate it myself.

That's a wholly different reason to dislike the system, though. As is simply not liking it.
How does it cause that? I am seriously curious, mind you. I can imagine that you find using it a fuss, but then you simply don't have to use it. Lag, dunno. Did it increase when the job system as added?
Well, I am having fun with it. Still learning the mechanics and found somethings to not have worked as I expected, but I know they are to be fixed. There are loads to learn and to mingle with before I can have an opinion of good or bad.
I think it has a great potential and it will depend of what the players will do with it to make it work in full potential.
Will change title to reflect yes yes. Wasn't sure who else had contributed....but I know that even if we all catch the bugs, we still have to wait for Cluckzilla to fix them.

It reminds me a movie with the giant boobies that were coming down hill. I don't remember if they exploded or if it was the fattest woman in the movie that did.
Kudos for the amount of and continuing work are most definitely due.

Might have been Woody Allen's "All You Ever Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask".
I'm having some fun with the job system. I really cant see spending hours on it (though I've travelled all over the land making maps of Amia since it came out). Still tinkering with my job selection before the penguin disappears.

It sucks I hate it I want more job points I should be able to be rank 3 in three jobs (censored) goddamn rage rage rage
How about we change it so that you can be rank 3 in three jobs at third level, and you start losing job points as you level up? So that, at level 30, you are an untalented, unskilled hack. Or your jobs get replaced with the ones held by authentic lvl 30 PCs: Rank 3 PvP, Rank 3 PvM, and Rank 3 Cordor Greeter?
I love it! Like Colanah, I had some totally relaxed and fun time on Amia with it. And when I read the pdf I thought it would suck ... Thanks so much, Disco & Co!

I'll admit that in the past there was updates to the server that still to this day I despise... but the job system I'll take my hat off to. It's well thought out and hasn't altered the server at all, it's just expanded it.
Lookin' forward to the new UD if the same amount of work's gone into that as it did to this.

Oi. I don't like catgirls or furries or cowgirls or whatever. Get outta me thread!
Yeah, he doesn't. He always shoves me away when I curl up on his newspaper when he wants to read it, or jump on his keyboard when he wants to do some toolsetting.
