As you know, different metal alloys are better against different things. Weapons made of cold iron are superior against feys, favoured souls and some outsiders whilst weapons made of alchemical silver are extremely useful against shapeshifters and undead.
Problem is that if this was implemented, you would be giving the player a mechanical advantage which isn't the aim of the job system.
Thanks for all the replies everyone! I was really hoping to make use of an Adamantine weapon, but as its properties won't be working in Amia it seems a little pointless at this time.
As to the quote above, yes there is (or was) adamantine in the game pre-job system. It is still in the same area (below Dwarven city) but now there is only the job-system-type-adamantine available.
I have some of the original adamantine left and tried to make (craft) weapons from it but got the message "there is no weapon that can be made from this" (darn!) However, you can make helmets, chainmail, and full plate although I've not tried to.
In the meantime, quess I'm still looking around for a +5 morningstar to get thru the yuan-ti stoneskin, or the help of a mage
thanks
