I propose we discuss something fresh and slightly reated: Comic style cursing!
like this:
Joe The Warrior: *hits head on cupboard* Joe The Warror: #%&@?!%
Is it hot or is it not?
(Censored) with a string of amusing other words added to the mix is far more awesome.

But when a DM shows up I start seeing blocks of text that take up the whole freakin' chat window for what the person was doing a "..." for earlier.
Yeah, that one is annoying.
If i see a DM come near, if i even notice they're a DM, I don't start trying to throw out as many words as possible filling the chat window upto the text limit, like I see some people doing.
Though, i just tend to ignore it anyway, when they do that.

I've got a PC, a foul-mouthed older woman, and I just use (censored). And copiously, when she's angry - which happens often enough. I chose to use (censored) over goofy characters $%@^!*&#$@ because (censored) is, to me, a more direct way of pointing out that we're quite literally self-censoring ourselves so that we don't offend someone.
I used the @!#$@$ sometimes.. It is rare though. And Yurell, Nasrudin is so good in creating it, he got me laughing loads of times with his creations. They are silly but sooo cool.
i prefer "almost" cursing. Kegs (dwarf) uses "fargin" and Akly (hin)says "fikking" or "fecking" or whatever like that comes out. any other word I just say, since i think the audience can handle it without getting bent out of shape.
Anyway, just my preference.
